Blue Karma Dijiwa Ubud in Ubud

I booked this hotel through a solo trip in Ubud; it's a bit far from the center. The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the room was beautiful. I specifically booked a hammock room, which was perfect for taking photos.

The hotel has a rustic, luxurious feel, but the room wasn't what I'd imagined. The bed opens directly onto the door, so the space isn't very spacious. However, the toilet, washroom, and shower are spacious, and the semi-open-air shower is quite unique. The hotel is located mid-mountain, a bit out of the city. A shuttle bus runs regularly, making it convenient, but Ubud is plagued by traffic, making it less convenient than downtown hotels. The mountain views are better, though, so there are pros and cons. The hotel service was okay, but everything else was extra and expensive. I thought the teddy bear in the room was a free gift for the children, but there was no explanation. The front desk told me it was a separate purchase, costing over 100 RMB, which was a bit disappointing.

The hotel's overall aesthetic is a European and American luxury, with every detail embodying a pristine yet refined aesthetic. The room with a pool we stayed in was truly unique, and simply relaxing in the courtyard was truly relaxing. The service was the best I've experienced in Bali so far, with each waiter being incredibly down-to-earth and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, even distinctly Australian. Upon entering the hotel during the day, I was concerned about the darkness, but at night I was pleasantly surprised to find warm lights everywhere. The stone monkeys in the courtyard served as lampposts, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that felt completely unintimidating. The only downside was that it rained several days during our stay, making the cabin quite damp. The shower was open-air, which was still a bit chilly at night. The outdoor toilet was a bit worn, leaving a slightly less clean feel.

Very beautiful hotel, the staff's service is super good. Knowing that we are afraid of geckos, they specially changed the room type with a fully enclosed bathroom. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Karma. Beautiful location, a nice room next to the ricefield. Breakfast was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The centre of Ubud was not far away. Definitely recommend staying here if you are going to Ubud.
