Jerusalem, 5 Nablus Road (derech Schehem) (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Our 40-day stay in Jerusalem was exceptionally calm and comfortable. The hotel consistently delivered excellent service throughout our visit. In particular, we would like to commend Randa Toubassy at the reception desk—she was always welcoming, professional, and helpful, greeting us with a warm smile and ensuring our needs were met promptly.
Nice hotel- Nice views and nice people. You can take a local bus home for 5 nl- all busses going from the local bus station is stopping here. The breakfast was not amazing- but okay. Very friendly place-
I have stayed there the last 25 years when i have visit Jerusalem. Great service, good breakfast and close to the Old city.
Staff members were very helpful and nice. hotel is very clean, well kept and pretty, highly recommended. Breakfast is diverse, fresh and tasty. One of the best hotels in jerusalem.
We had a truly wonderful stay at the Ambassador Hotel! From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and enjoyable. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. Their warm hospitality really made a difference in our experience. This hotel is the heart of any stay in Jerusalem. Spacious, modern accommodations, perfect location, excellent for Sabbath observers, and the warmest staff and history. Enjoy every minute!
The owners are so accommodating and helpful! Lovely space and have stayed there twice now this year. Location is convenient to the shuk and places to eat. There is a large park also within walking distance and taxis are easy to get to from the hotel. The local cats are a cute plus!!
If you want to feel the local vibe of Jerusalem’s soul, this is the hotel for you! Shoutout to Mimi and her husband for being such amazing hosts!
Great location, warm family-run hotel We had a wonderful stay at the Biazi hotel. It is excellently located close to Machane Yehuda market, and we walked everywhere. This is a family-run hotel and the family are so welcoming and the hotel is filled with artefacts throughout the family history which is so special. Would definitely recommend.
Awesome location, room and service!
A true gem. Intimate, family-operated hotel with impeccably clean, spacious rooms. Great neighborhood. A true gem.

Great experience in the hotel. Perfect location next to the old city . Tons of things to do. Pool on the roof with great view to the old city. Nice breakfast in the hotel ! Rooms are very nice and clean. The stuff is super friendly . We will be back for sure
My room had an incredible view of the Temple Mount! Very nice people!
Room could have been a lot cleaner. It was smelly and had a dusty odour. The bathroom drain was full of hair and the fake flowers were full of dust and we had to rest them outside on the verandah that had no table or chairs so impossible to enjoy unless standing.
Room is big, but is no parking in the facility. So is hard to find parking in the street
I've never been to an establishment and actually felt like I was part of a family. The amount of times I locked myself out of my room, and Abu Muhammed was kind enough to walk up and down repeatedly and unlock my door, was surely more than a Hilton would've offered me. Abu Muhammed and Musa, especially, I would like to say thank you to - they treated me like family. Like my own grandfather would...

We are visiting hashimi hotel from South Africa for 5 days. The hotel is the best location in the old city very near to Al Aqsa walking distance is 500m. However, the room and bathroom is very tiny. WiFi isn't great at all it keeps disconnecting throughout our stay and the signal was bad most times. Kindly improve WiFi. The Service is great and breakfast is wonderful. The staff are all very kind...
I loved the hotel I chose. They were very accommodating. Food was great. Location perfect. Room amazing. I will stay here again next time I go to Jerusalem.
Simply the best hotel in the old city, its overall location, which is so close to so many historical sites, the value and service are ideal. The staff at the hotel are some of the most welcoming and beautiful people you could meet. The view of the masjid and overall old city is amazing too. Shout out to the Chef Abu Khaled, those omelettes 😋. Special mention for the owners (great guys) and Shaykh Saleh...
A very convenient hotel in the heart of the old city, close to many of the attractions and particularly Masjid Al-Aqsa. There are several gates in close proximity to the hotel, so the mosque can be easily reached. The rooms are comfortable with very basic furnishing. The view from the upstairs eating area is just amazing and very pleasant to sit there during the evenings. Good WiFi in the rooms.
Cozy hotel situated in the alley of jerusalem. The ppl are amazing. The stalls walking up to the hotel are full of everything u can think off. The hotel has an amazing view of the dome of the rock. Beatiful top floor set up. Cosy rooms. Very limited breakfast menu. Slow service thou.

Although it is located in East Jerusalem, it has history and charm which has attracted me to bring my grandkids here. Although I’m Jewish, I thought this would be a great opportunity to see Palestinian cities like Bethlehem Jericho and Ramallah. We enjoyed our four day stay here. Every day started with a great breakfast. Afterwards, it is a short walk to the Damascus Gate into the walled city. This...
The surrounding neighborhood is quiet, but it's too far to Old Jerusalem, and you have to cross many hills and valleys. It's difficult to get to and from on foot, even if you take a bus. The breakfast was surprisingly good, but the shower room and other facilities were too old. The reception was also lacking in friendliness, which made the overall impression of the hotel bad. If it's around 70% of...
The place is an old hotel with a realy welcoming, cosy feeling. As soon as you enter you have a lovely big room for coffe, tea and biscuits and its open 24 hours.. will come again! :)
It was great because the location is in a wonderful and historic neighbor hood. The price was an exceptional value. The front desk staff, particularly Joseph, wasavailable, informative, helpful and he personallycarried all our bags to our rooms. The rooms were a good size.
Great location. Ideal place for a few nights in Jerusalem at a relatively affordable price. Rooms are ample, bathroom was fine though furniture and fixtures could enjoy some renovation.
A small, homely, quiet and charming place in the heart of the German colony. The hotel manager Joseph received us warmly and pleasantly throughout our stay and was with a personal attitude, professional and courteous services. We loved our stay at Paamonim. The hotel is very clean and quiet, and the location is fantastic--as central as you can get. (There is construction right outside for the new light rail but it's not noisy.) Everyone on staff, including the owner, was so friendly. And the breakfast--omg, the most amazing, delicious breakfast you can possibly imagine.
Beautiful boutique hotel! Super friendly and helpful staff, especially with check in and check out. Nice, clean room & good breakfast!
Hotel showing its age. Had to wait past 7am to check out. Does not appear to be staffed at all after hours.
Fantastic location right at Jaffa Road and King George, and very close to pedestrian streets Ben Yehuda. Steps from light rail to go to the old city and most tourist locations.

We loved our stay at The American Colony Hotel Jerusalem. We visited over Christmas Eve through the day after Christmas. The staff were especially fantastic. There efforts that this established hotel puts into everything is amazing. The furniture, surroundings and positive attitude of the team is a shining reminder of hope and Co existence in Jerusalem
I come to Jerusalem regularly and have stayed at a number of five star hotels including king David. The American Colony is far and away my favorite hotel to stay in. It’s a luxury boutique hotel. Unlike other luxury hotels it actually has personality and charm. In spades. The grounds are magical, with fruit trees and wisteria and a classic ottoman courtyard with trees and a fountain much like a Moroccan...
A rare old-fashioned hotel that offers bedtime services; the hotel itself has a rich history.
Everything was outstanding at the American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem ! This hotel is clearly one of my favorite hotels ever, and this for several reasons: The building itself and its history; the patio where you can enjoy a great dinner at the Courtyard restaurant; the Summer Bar where you can sip very good cocktails in a truly beautiful garden; the room, tastefully decorated in a retro style; a clean...

Nice resort friendly stuff good service 👍 food good big verity big pool inside and out side recommended for family or couples. Nice room for prayer 🙏. I was very happy and very recommended.
A perfect family getaway! It was a lovely Shabbat atmosphere, delicious food, clean and pleasant rooms, and just a really relaxing weekend. We enjoyed the tour of the kibbutz on Shabbat too! We had our own car, so the fact that the location is out of the way didn't bother us. The country club next door was incredible. The New (built in the 1800s!) Imperial Hotel was absolutely the perfect place for us to stay. As far as location, it cannot be beat. This hotel is a gem. Great, central location in Jerusalem and right inside Jaffa Gate. Safe, clean and comfortable. Terric breakfast included. This was always a very good hotel. But since 2025, all Christian symbols and icons have been removed. Ninety percent of the guests are Muslim. The breakfast buffet has been redesigned for Muslims, as has the hotel itself.
The breakfast was very different than a typical American breakfast. Everything fresh, lots of vegetables and healthy food. The staff was wonderful and it was conveniently located inside the old city. Great restaurant just around the corner called The Oak. Lots of shopping around and the roof top is wonderful for views and time together. I'm not usually one for a chain hotel, but this place has a semi independent vibe with its decor. We got a room on a high floor which gives you an amazing view of Jerusalem! We stayed for Shabbat and shavuot holiday. Although the first evening was a bit problematic as it was the first major event they did, the rest was very smooth. We had a good time and would recommend the hotel. חוץ מבלגן בערב הראשון היה מאוד מוצלח. היה סיור מעולה! ממליצה. המחיר היה קצת יקר.
On the bright side - Good location within short walk from center. Beautiful decent sized rooms. Free parking usually available nearby. On the other side - Horrible service! especially at front desk. Would have graded 5 stars if not for the very bad service - had to ask about three times in order to get a baby crib which we paid for brought to the room. Amazing location, amazing service, amazing F&B outlet. Cannot be more perfect than this. They make you feel like home. Being a boutique hotel with only 14 rooms it makes the stay more special and personalized. The staff are like family members taking care of you like a family.
Walking distance from Jerusalem gates. Small rooms, but will work for a place to sleep...nothing fancy. Great olive tree fired ovens for pizza and steaks. Family atmosphere
Nice hotel with thick walls and high ceiling. Tried also the restaurant which offer nice local food. Just make sure you ask for no smoking area. Very helpful at the reception for any information you need. Short walking from old Jerusalem gate, that is a must seen. Easy from the location to take public transport to visit Bethlehem. I'd recommend it
Visited the restaurant a couple of times. Both middle eastern and Italian food are great. Pizza is excellent. Taybeh (local) beer goes well with the food. Friendly service with very good English. Reasonable prices. Definitely a great option for lunch or dinner!

Value for money. Convenient location. Close to public transport, food and supermarkets. Easy walk to the Old City. Free coffee and tea. Free hot water. Kitchen for hotel guests. Nice dining place.
overall was what i expected for the price. Nice surprise was a common kitchen. The Bad: no tv or room fridge as advertised. It is up to other guest to let new arrivals in so prepare to wait outside for someone who happens to be leaving or coming. Pointing this out to the staff was met with shrugs. They didnt care.
Very good location. lots of shops close, including 24/6 (closed on Shabath) supermarket, all sorts of restaurants, old city within reasonable walking distance.
It is relatively shabby and battered. Still good price for excellent location. Linen was clean, AC works, there is hot water in the bathroom. Definitely no luxuries, but nobody expects it for such a price. Thanks to hotel.
Old building in the heart of the downtown action. Location is great for tourists.
A simple hotel in a great location. The decor is a bit dated, but everything is quite clean. The shower lacks a shelf for toiletries, but considering the low price and location, these are minor issues. P.S. For the price, it was what we expected. No complaints but this is definitely a budget hotel. No frills. Great location. Super nice staff. Easy in/out, no wasting time on paperwork. Parking is tricky so if bringing a car, be warned there is no nearby parking. We only stayed one night and didn’t spend much time in the hotel but it served our needs.
The owner was friendly and helpful and the location is very central. The bed sheets were clean but there were many small flies congregating in the bathroom because the window screen had a design fault were it has open gap letting the flies in. The overall cleanliness has room for improvement. Given the high cost of Jerusalem, the price of the room is reasonable. So you get what you pay for.
For two of us (married) the room was small by our normal standards in the USA. But…TV had 5+ English channels, shower in the corner was good with hot water, and small refrig served our needs. I would have liked a breakfast area but Aroma Coffee is 30 steps from the front door. No elevator and first rooms start on the 2nd floor. There was at least another floor above us.
I stayed at the Hotel Kaplan for a three week study program which was a 15 minute walk away. The rooms are clean, comfortable and provide you with the essentials, nothing more. While not an upscale hotel, the owners Eli and Nathan are very welcoming and are definitely part of the experience of staying there. A kitchen is available if you want to do light cooking. Fabulous location, very helpful staff and amazing breakfast! Building is in need of facelift but everything worked and would recommend to people who want to be in center of bustling Jerusalem.
The hotel room was clean and buffet breakfast good. The location makes it a big plus for quick access to old Jerusalem, makes it a place hard to get a good sleep at night. I have spent a couple of nights in this hotel and I have enjoyed a lot. It is very well situated, good price and nice staff members, very helpful. The hotel was very nice. Staff extremely friendly, we even got a free upgrade to a better room. The location was great as it is very close to the city center and in the middle of an area with many shops and restaurants. One comment that I have is that the breakfast was missing labels on the food so we needed to ask in case we did not recognize the food.
Nice central hotel. a minute walk to main jaffa street. There was a strong smell of sewage coming from the parking lot to the hotel. The service and the food in the dining room was excellent.
