Location

Mangia’s Brucoli is located in Contrada Gisira, near the fishing village of Brucoli, Sicily. It lies between Syracuse and Catania, approximately 23 kilometers from Catania Fontanarossa Airport. The hotel has direct access to a designated beach 50 meters from the property, on the first coastline. Getting into the village is possible by foot in about 20-25 minutes or via a paid boat transfer. The location offers views of Mount Etna from the seashore. Nearby amenities in Brucoli include a bakery, butcher, fruit and vegetable stalls, coffee shops, and a post office.

Tips

  • Book rooms with garden or sea views for better natural light, as some standard rooms have limited windows.
  • For dining, consider attending themed evening parties which have been positively reviewed.
  • Rent a car in the nearby village of Brucoli rather than at the hotel to avoid cash-only policies and less friendly service.

3 Daily yoga sessions by Catarina were lovely, she's very knowledgeable & such a warm personality. Great choice of different locations depending on weather. Highly recommended.
Pilates by Sébastieno was great too. Great exercises, good tempo, a great way to start the day. Very much enjoyed & recommended.
Also had a massage booked which was one of the best ones I have ever had.

The property itself is beautiful and has great potential, but the overall experience was extremely disappointing for this price point.

The restaurants were very poor: slow service, consistently rude staff, and the worst food we had in Italy. When we raised concerns, there was no real effort to resolve them, only dismissive responses. After we posted negative reviews, management left a note under our door late at night asking to talk, which felt intrusive. At the front desk, we were offered to return to the restaurant at our own expense, and only after laughing at this they offered a free dessert. After such an experience, we were not willing to spend another €100+. The only genuinely kind service we encountered was Giulia at the pool restaurant. Management’s responses online telling guests to “be respectful to my staff” feel misplaced given how guests are treated at the hotel.

Breakfast was chaotic and poorly managed. After 09:30, tables were dirty or unavailable, and clean cutlery, glasses, and napkins were often missing. We sat at dirty tables for several days. Other Autograph hotels manage this far better. The barista was overwhelmed and occasionally rude, but clearly understaffed.

Our room had a leaking shower and a significant ant problem in the bathroom, making it feel unclean.

While the beach terrace and property are stunning, we both agreed halfway through the stay that we would leave for another hotel if refunded. For an Autograph property at this price, this level of management is unacceptable. We will not return.

Absolutely amazed by this place. Beautiful, clean, and the friendliest staff. My favorite was Claudia, who showed me Adonai Eremo AND gave the best ceramic painting class. It was a very welcomed creative part of the holiday. 10/10 would recommend going here, and look for events with Claudia - she’s the best!

Everything was clean and well taken care of. The staff there was lovely, there just weren’t enough of them! It was clear it was just after high season.

We were very happy with our stay at the hotel. It’s a beautiful resort with delicious restaurants, excellent tennis and padel courts, as well as great activity programs. Highly recommended are the pizza-making class and the Pilates session with Sebastiano!

This is a gorgeous resort hotel that has excellent service, beautiful location. The pool is next level gorgeous next to sea. Good dining. Excellent staff and concierge can book day trips. Just note that beach access is too rocky to swim. There are many stairs all around so hotel is not accessible. Also not much near by. Highly recommend. Very romantic destination. Great honeymoon location. Very happy with our stay. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay here, the pools are great, the location is gorgeous, and the morning yoga offered for free outside was a great way to start the day. Catarina, was a great yoga teacher and was able to squeeze in a full body workout and stretch, as well as relaxation into a wonderful one hour class in an olive grove. My only complaint was that our room, a superior king only had one tiny window which didn’t let in much light or breeze. In hindsight I would pay up for a room with a better window.

Beautiful property with lovely pool and ladders into the sea.
Staff very friendly & great dining options.
Very peaceful resort with lovely views of Etna from the sea shore.

We stayed at this hotel from 15 to 22.06.19. Initially, we checked into room 963, which is practically the farthest building. We asked for something closer, but were told only tomorrow. They kept their promise and settled in 346, without any additional payment. The All Inclusive and All Inclusive Plus systems operate here. Plus, this means alcoholic drinks and juices of local origin, coffee and sweet sodas you can drink at the bar without any problems. Without a plus, you will have to pay for it according to the price list, which is located near the bar. There is no water in the rooms, there are cups in the vending machines nearby. We saved the 0.5 bottle and poured water into it so as not to run around with glasses. The rooms are clean and freshly cleaned every day. Towels are changed. You can get beach towels at the reception, but if you pay 20 euros for the entire period of your stay, out of 20 towels, 15 will be returned on the day you return them. There was enough space under the sun on sunbeds for everyone. On Saturday the hotel is filled to its maximum capacity, and on Monday there are noticeably fewer people. Sometimes there are group rides for pensioners or disabled people on weekends, so be prepared. This did not bother us, we can only be glad that such people can relax))) The food was tasty and varied, but there were no soups, only a little broth with nothing else standing next to the pasta. For breakfast there is no cereal or vegetables, but there is a lot of pastries, scrambled eggs, omelette, sausages, sausage, cereal, milk and there is always fruit. The staff is pleasant and friendly, they try to help as much as possible in difficult cases. At the reception there is a timetable for buses that go from the nearby village of Brucoli. You can get to Brucoli on foot for about 20-25 minutes for free or by longboat for 1.5 euros one way and 2 euros round trip, which runs on the water to the right of the hotel. I also advise you to rent a car in the village, and not at the hotel. The pool is always clean, depth 2.2 meters to 0.6. There are very few Russians, no matter how sad it was, fortunately, no swearing was heard and no one walked around the hotel in their shorts. There were 4 Russian-speaking couples of us. Although the French do not behave in the best way either, they can take a chair or dishes from your table without even asking. It is better to take excursions at the hotel, and not from Teztur, they are 15 euros cheaper. The rooms do not have balconies, only a fence and a door))) The shore in the sea is rocky, but there are equipped descents into the sea. It's ok for adults, but not convenient for small children. Jellyfish and a lot of hedgehogs swim in, be careful. We liked.

It's actually very pleasant, you can tell it's a bit old but they've refreshed the rooms and toilets so it doesn't feel old.
It was empty so we managed to get to use the amenities, not sure during a busy period
