Garni Residence Trocker in Kastelruth

Hotel is in a great location, easy walk to local restaurants, grocery, shops, bus stop and historic center. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Very comfy beds, nice bedding and awesome shower. Mostly quiet, some road noise. Excellent breakfast and very nice sauna/lounge facilities with bonus lovely rooftop sundeck. There is a rooftop jacuzzi tub, but it is not heated. Attentive staff. Surrounding area views stunning. The hotel is VERY smoker friendly and the lobby bar accommodates indoor smoking. The result is a lobby and breakfast area that are full of cigarette smoke, all day long. Luckily, no guests in the rooms next to ours utilized their wonderful large decks, for smoking, so we were able to leave our sliding doors open for ventilation and fresh air.

In a warm place with an old-world atmosphere. Excellent food, I'd say the best dumplings I've ever eaten!!! Their welcome was excellent! The girl in particular!! I hope to return soon and be able to taste more dishes from their traditional menu. I'd be curious to sleep there and have breakfast! Who knows how wonderful it would be.

Very good experience: big apartment, clean, parking below the house, very nice sauna, friendly and helpful staff.

If this is a "3-star" hotel then I can't imagine how amazing the 5-star ones are! This place was great! Huge room (double) with walk-in closet, big modern bathroom, and best of all a roof-top Jacuzzi and sun chairs. The included breakfast was incredible and there was room service and a full bar downstairs. (Smoking allowed in the bar, but divided from the rest of the hotel by a sliding door which trapped the smoke and made it look like a fog machine was working overtime)

Free wifi which was nice and strong. The balcony on the room was large and deep with a table and two chairs with a view of the distant mountains. There was a table in the room with soft chairs that probably fold down into a third bed. We were there in the gap between the end of ski season and the arrival of the hikers so the building was almost empty and the woman on the desk didn't speak English (German is the default there, Italian second, English hardly registers at all) but one can get along just fine with gestures and she was very patient and helpful.

I'm sure we got a discount because it was the off-season (off month, really, the gap is short) and even at a higher cost I'd totally stay there again. Coming in the last third of a long and frugal trip this place was a breath of fresh, luxurious air.
