B&B San Leonardo in Mascali

Do not stay here! The owner and his father are Awful! They are mean. We had x4 nights booked here and only stayed the first one. Very difficult to find. Owner not helpful. Rooms, bed, bedding, pillows, so bad. Think 1940s cast offs that have been used nonstop. The towels, so small, line dried so they are nice and crunchy. I am a small person and I could not fit cross ways in the shower. Bathroom so tiny you can't turn around. The dad came over in the evening to explain how to use the microwave. Took 11 minutes to heat a cup of water for tea. They do not speak English. They do not want to read your translation app. The dad literally pushed my hand away when I was trying to communicate with him on the app. He is very angry. Yells when speaking in Italian, like if he yells maybe I'll understand. We did not feel safe. I booked x2 separate itineraries because as I was planning I decided it was a good location to stay longer. So for some reason, my second booking spelled my last name in Italian. It took over an hour to check in because of the communication barrier and he was so unkind through the process. So thankful we were able to find somewhere else to stay the other 3 nights
Of course, no refund was given for them though. Hotels.com leaves that to the discretion of the owner, who of course refused. Worst experience traveling ever.

I stayed there for 1 night and it was a nightmare. There were little insects all around the bed. When we contacted the owner, he spoke with us arrogantly and told us to shut up and go back to our room. The room was small and spider webs was all around. Even though we spreaded 4 towels on the bed we couldnt sleep with the fear of bedbugs. The owner will probably say this is a fake review as he replys the same text to all the comments. Stay away from here if you dont want a nightmarish night.

The room was the worst of the worst. It was so small that 2 people cannot fit into. But thats not the real problem. The real problem is there was small SPIDERS and INSECTS all over the bed. The owner showed us the room first, we took a quick look and then confirmed the room. Real nightmare started later. Spider webs was all around the little window(which is just above the bed). We suspected and removed the blanket, THE BED WAS COVERED BY TINY SPIDERS. I sent a picture to the owner and he came. Told us it’s just a mosquito and if I open the window they will go away. When I wanted a refund, he told me to shut up and go back to my room. I said just give me my refund and I’ll write good reviews on booking.com. He threatened me with reporting to booking. He handled the situation literally the worst way. This situation really happened and I got shocked by his aggressive attitude. He made fun of the photo and told us its just a mosquito. I add the photo of one of them, imagine many of them was wandering on the bed. In the end we didnt get the refund, we spread all our towels on the bed and slept there. The owners attitude was really horrible. The older man was polite and nice. But it was the worst experience I had in my travel life. If you care about your health and dont want to deal all night with the insects, just stay at anywhere else.
