Grand Hotel Santa Maria in Santa Maria

I went alone for dinner with my wife and two small children. The food was very good, and the staff was very attentive and helpful. The only downside was booking online: I booked with multiple confirmations, but they never showed up. So, if you accidentally call their mobile number to book and it doesn't connect, contact them via WhatsApp to be sure of confirmation. Their website is currently experiencing issues; the staff apologized for the problem and offered us a bitter drink at the end of the evening.

Beautiful property with direct access to a private beach. All rooms have sea views. The staff was always very friendly and courteous. A hearty breakfast of fresh sweet and savory foods.

Everything was top-notch: a stunning location, incredibly friendly professional staff, excellent food, impeccable rooms, and ZERO architectural barriers, from the room to the water. Excellent value. We'll definitely be back. A big thank you from us. Antonio Cucca.

Oh my! What a lovely hotel! What a fabulous location! We stayed here on the first night of a tour because it is relatively close to Paestum where we were going the next day. We joked that we wanted to stay here for the whole tour. Clean and comfortable rooms. Elevators to take us down to the sandy beach. It was so warm that a number of people swam even though it was late afternoon - evidently the water was so warm. The rooms had air con. I walked into a charming little village. There were a wonderful series of patios with stunning ocean views. The breakfast was very good (and there were more stunning views). It would be a wonderful place for a holiday.

Clean hotel had no problems. Everything is as good or better than expected. Breakfast was very much above average and fresh. Helpful staff who tried their best to please us and spoke some English. We stayed longer than expected because it was so relaxing.

Wonderful hotel and service. Everything was perfect and the hotel is located in a great location with beach access and chairs and umbrellas. lunch by the beach was fantastic and the staff was over all ver attentive. Only thing I would point out is the dinner needs a bit of work but nothing dramatic. Overall a fantastic stay.

I recommend such incredible location to anyone wishing to relax, but to enjoy part of the Italian culture. The excellent positive and energetic structure and team are placed right on the wonderful beach of Santa Maria di Castellabate and this makes it a dream destination. Rooms with sea view, breakfast, services and the restaurants inside the GHSM and near by just a little walk away complete it like no other spots along the coast. Thank you all for your warm and welcoming style everyday of our stay.

This hotel was just fabulous! We visited for our honeymoon at the end of June/early July. Staff Staff were unbelievably helpful throughout our stay. We messaged with reception on a number of occasions to book taxis and excursions and they were responsive and super helpful every time. Staff in the restaurants were fabulous too. Of note, the staff on the beach were amazing. Clean pool towels are provided daily as well as reserved beach loungers at no extra cost. Room We had a superior double room in the second floor, with a lovely balcony and sea view. The room had great air conditioning which was needed in the heat! A large shower, fridge, kettle, hairdryer and extra pillows were all provided. The room was cleaned to a high standard on a daily basis. Spa We didn’t use the spa but a family member bought us massages, which were lovely. The only slight drawback was the noise of construction on the same floor as the treatment room, but under the circumstances the masseuse did brilliantly. Food The main hotel restaurant was just lovely. The food was amazing and the breakfasts were fabulous. Both had a wide variety of choices. We ate less frequently at the beach house for lunch, but food and service was wonderful when we did. Location The hotel is just 300m away from the town square, and a free shuttle is provided to take you in and out. It also takes you to offsite car parking. The stunning views really make this hotel, but the small town of Castellabate, about 10 minutes away, is well worth a visit too. Overall, this is a lovely hotel. I’d thoroughly recommend this hotel and location to anyone wanting an Italian experience away from the busy Amalfi Coast in the summer.

What a stunning location.... Literally right on Salerno Bay but not in the centre of the village. Lovely spacious, very clean room equipped with double bed (two singles pushed together), desk with chair, TV, mini fridge, kettle with tea and coffee sachets, air conditioning, wardrobe and safe. Very comfortable mattress. The bed head had lighting in built. Bathroom supplies of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, tissues (tissues are one item I found along my recent travels that aren't often included), fluffy towels and hairdryer. The water pressure was great with lots of hot water. Access and lighting is via a key card for security. My room 105 had a small balcony which overlooked the bay and a garden with lots of umbrellas and seating. Off the main reception is a casual terrace with lots of chairs and tables and large umbrellas. Very pleasant to sit here and watch the world go by. Breakfast area is downstairs. I think this would also be the dining room. As I arrived there on Easter Sunday the restaurant was closed. This meant walking into the village for dinner a bit under 1km each way. Check in and out was easy. The staff very pleasant, although they spoke better Italian than English, but were more than happy to help. The reception area had some rather comfy chairs and there was always fresh flower arrangements. This might seem like an odd comment but its little things like this that make you feel welcome. I only stayed one night as I was on a tour but would definitely stay here again if I was in the area. Thank you Grand Hotel Santa Maria

The Grand Hotel Santa Maria is a real treasure. As soon as you walk in you will feel a sense of cleanliness in a very up to date structure with a devastating view. You get instantly greeted by an experienced staff, Angela who has been working there for 18 years will take care of you and will make you feel right at home, and Paolo will answer all your questions and will give you the best recommendations, everyone is friendly and speaks English very well. The hotel is right on the water with a private beach, a beach bar, and multi-level terraces overlooking the Mediterranean. The hotel is built on steps and each layers has a terrace or a place to hang with a drink looking at the water, the panoramic elevator is a ride to do.The rooms are clean, crisp and very efficient, the beds are comfortable and the linens are soft. We booked suites and we received a complimentary SPA pass which was delightful. The SPA is an oasis., the breakfast is served in their beautiful restaurant and terrace right on the sea. You will love the sunsets here. We will be back next year.
