Bed&Breakfast Skyhouse Chiaia in Naples

I feel I need to warn others to avoid them having the same experience as me (or worse). I arrived at 5:45 pm after wandering up and down the street looking for the address for over 10 minutes (no tips when booking - the numbers on the street change and are very confusing). None of the local shopkeepers knew where it was, either.

When I finally found the office, there was a sign on the door, "CLOSED". I had received an email saying that I should be there to check in by 8 pm. When I checked again from the B & B, I had another more recent email, telling me to check in by 6 pm (not cool to change this last minute, but I was still there before this deadline). Btw, the reservation information from Expedia has 7:30 as the check in deadline! I tried calling on What's App and had the correct number, but after about 5 tries, I gave up when no one answered. I just stood there, dumfounded, trying to think of what to do. About 6 pm, a man stepped out of the elevator and looked at me, rather confused. I asked if he worked at Chiaia 205 and he said he did, but asked why I didn't call! Unbelievable, he's the one that's not where he should be, but blames me for not calling.

He opened up my room and gave me the keys. I wish he would have showed me how to use the main key for my room as the first time I came back and tried to open the door, I panicked. I simply couldn't get the key to work! So incredibly frustrating! 10 minutes of trying to get a key to work may seem like nothing, but just try it when you're at your next hotel with no one at the front desk. :(

The room was small, but clean. The biggest issues were: 1. the main door was glass so the light coming in from the center of the building came through the curtain which was the only privacy I had and it didn't even cover the entire door (see photo). I didn't like this at all. 2. there was a gap between the window/door and wall which allowed air to pass through, so all night long there was a piece of plastic or something which kept tapping incessantly (like someone tapping at the door)! See photo. This isn't something that "just happened" and for the room to be used as a bed and breakfast in this condition is ridiculous. I'm sure I'm not the first one to complain. It was so annoying and kept me up most of the night, but there was absolutely nothing I could do. The shower was junk and leaked so that there was not enough water coming out where it should (see pic). No counter in the bathroom to put toiletries, which I wouldn't complain about if everything else was fine, but it was just another annoyance given my situation.

The next morning, I told Pasquale, who told me no one had ever complained about this problem, but seemed nice enough. He told me that no one was coming to check in so I could use the room for as long as I needed that day. I told him I'd be leaving around 4 pm and he said that was fine. I was happy that I'd be able to use the bathroom and freshen up before getting the train later as it was SO hot and humid. I left my luggage in the room and went out to do some sightseeing and came back to the room before lunch to use the bathroom and put some pastries in my room only to find all my luggage gone and a lady cleaning there! She told me that she'd been told to move my luggage to the office, clean the room and then put it back. That's not what Pasquale had offered me because since the bathroom had been cleaned, I couldn't use it anymore. I was now even more upset.

This place is not run as a business should be run. Nothing is done as it should be and I would NEVER recommend it to anyone. It could be a great place, unfortunately, there's no way to rely on anything or anyone. Feel like I got royally ripped off staying here.

Bad experience.
Double bed felt like sleeping on an inflatable mattress in practice we broke our backs, not to mention the bathroom leaking water from the toilet drain ... we got flooded and the owner didn't give a damn. The kindness of the cleaning gentleman, Mr. SIRI, very polite person, is saved.
