Elysium Suites Collection in Rome

The room is clean, staff is amazingly helpful and hospitable. You can tell they take pride in the work they do and are very attentive. The key to the room is a physical key, like you would get at a motel. There is no one on site in the evening. As a solo traveler, it’s a little nerve wracking to not have an employee on site in case something happens. The front entrance door is not obviously a hotel. When I arrived, I thought it was a scam. I called the number and was glad that someone called back after forwarding to voice mail twice. A very personable employee, Jay, came down and helped me check in early and was very patient and helpful. I travel a lot for work and this is definitely not a hotel. Not sure what it would be classified as. I guess a bed and breakfast. Beds are not too comfortable but it was clean and smelled good and the heater worked well. My bed was two beds pushed together and I kept kind of sloping down in between the two of them. There are steps up to the hotel which I needed assistance carrying my luggage up. If you are other abled or are in a wheelchair do not book this hotel. It is not accessible at all. I have to check out at 3am and no one is on site so they said to just leave my key in my room door. I am not supposed to lift anything heavier than fifteen pounds due to a recent surgery. I suppose I'm going to have to push my bags down the stairs and hope that they don't break, since I really can't lift anything and need a person on site to help. Not ideal. The breakfast buffet is not very robust, but helped hold me over until I could get lunch elsewhere and the coffee Arnoldo made was really nice. Again, if you're looking for a typical hotel experience, with staff on site to assist, do not stay here. If you don't mind a clean place with little to no Amenities in a cool location where you can sleep soundly, then stay here. Oh, and I almost slipped and fell getting out of the shower because they don't offer shower mats. I just threw a towel down and used that, but that was definitely a first.

We loved the location of this apartment. We had 6 adults and had tons of room. The staff was great and communicated very well. Our only complaint was that because we had 6 people, we stayed at their other location which was the apartment and the noise from the street cleaning kept us up all night.
