Hotel Anna in Terracina

It was late and my wife and I were traveling to Pompei, which was still two hours away. Hotel Anna was available. We decided to take a chance. When you first show up, you will be met by an ominous security gate that blocks off a large compound of residences where Hotel Anna is located. That was a bit of a concern, but when we arrived, the hotel itself was bright and cheery and airy and clean. It definitely feels safe and very well maintained. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and that is one of the best parts of staying here. The food was good, we had a late dinner here, but the breakfast was average at best and only included cold foods, no meats or cheeses or eggs. The rooms were well maintained and absolutely were clean and decent, but they were very basic/no frills. The towels in the bathroom were the thickness of cloth dinner napkins, and were very rough to use, but as with everything else, they were clean. The hotel grounds were cheerful and bright and clean and as mentioned above the helpful staff made a big difference. This is a budget hotel but it was a decent place for us to spend the night and we felt safe and like we were in a clean comfortable Room. Because we were only spending the night, we never saw the beach but we heard it was nice.
