This was a very cool property I’m very glad I chose it. The room while a little dated was clean and comfortable. It was a hike up to the property but worth it. There are other hotels with easier access to the city center, but the view from this property is amazing.

Charming nice place but amenities need to be improved

Going with a 4 because the pool and hot tub were closed for the duration of our trip and we were not notified (it was a deciding factor when booking). Lovely stay as a solo traveler, I felt safe and the staff were friendly. I preferred this to staying in a massive hotel with staff you can’t get to know! The room was small but perfectly adequate for one person.

The staff speaks English; they were kind and helpful. The breakfast selection was the best we had on a three week trip. Location is excellent although on a very busy street so the noise level is not peaceful. Closing the doors helps because the glass is soundproofed. Warning - this is NOT a 5* hotel. If like us you opt to stay in the residence for space and privacy, you'll find yourselves staying under a residential flat with a child running around overhead late into the evening and 1st thing in the morning. This is a fantastic hotel, close to everything. Very hip and stylish lobby and outdoor lounge. The only thing that could improve is the hot tub was cold and we could not get it to heat up but we would highly recommend this property when visiting Santa Margherita ligure.

Very close to the train station and central area. Rooms are big and modern. The service is great. Only downside is that the hotel is split between to areas, the spa area and some of the rooms are located in a different building then the main building which isn't very comfortable, specially if your room isn't located where the spa is. But other then that, it is a really good hotel.

Our room did not include use of pool area. Requested 50 euro pp to use the pool .ordered a cappacino in the morning and they charged me the full price of breakfast buffet 30 euro. Front staff was rude.

It was worth the money. Close to the city, beach and train station. Good self service breakfast, friendly staff, support to find free parking slot. One side (overlooking a street with traffic and garbage containers) is less advised. Other side is overlooking a low traffic, one way street.

The staff was super nice during breakfast time! especially the older smaller lady and the older white bearded man at the reception. The breakfast was enjoyable with some local snacks as well. The rooms were clean as well. The only negative thing was the lack of parking possibilities, loud noises outside and no little fridge in the room.

Very nice, clean room. Breakfast was surprisingly great, despite it not being a buffet. They offered croissants, focaccia, yogurt, cereal, hot chocolate and coffee, jams, butter, nutella, and fresh fruit. And the lady serving it was the nicest person you could ever meet! Hotel Riviera is in a wonderful location; as close to the water as you can get. It had parking out front so we didn't have to walk far and it was free. The staff was lovely and made us feel very welcomed. The breakfast was wonderful and the dining area had a wonderful view of the water. An excellent find in pictureque Rapallo overlooking the Bay and coastal headlands. We found this an ideal central location for exploring the local scene- handy to SML and a short ferry ride to beautiful Portofino. The hotel is in a good place and the staff were v helpful. The only downside was the low standard breakfast. No decent fruit or fresh juice (although there were oranges rowing on the tree outside). Better to go to a cafe and have coffee and croissant outside.

A fabulous small hotel tucked away just a few hundred yards from town centre. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff, great breakfast. Parking is available at €30 per day and they have an electric charging point. The only issue was the very noisy air conditioning. Definitely a hidden gem.

This hotel was adorable and in a great location. Bruno, the night shift concierge, was wonderful and so kind and helpful! The breakfast was delicious. The only bummer is they want to charge $35 Euros Per person to use the hottub? When we got out there it was cold and not able to be used. Other than that we loved the place! Just spent a week here in this charming hotel, located on the 1st floor of an old palace. Perfect location to walk everywhere as Rapallo is not a big town. Even though the hotel is on a main road, it's very quiet so easy to sleep well. Fabulous staff, so kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing, no hot food but plenty of different yoghurts, bread and rolls, pastries cakes...

I have written travel guides (many!) and I have a slightly different approach to critiques... Rapallo is a gorgeous old town and not done up like a museum... It has the faded glory of an era when merchants built their palaces near the sea, some with widows walks... You can't keep up these buildings without some serious cash... The owner of the Portofino though makes sure that you are welcome and feel...

This hotel needs an update. Both the rooms and the especially the outside. Bathroom is way to shabby and small. This could be fixed with rather small money and a little TLC. The hotel pictures dont really match reality. Breakfast is fresh and okej. Staff is amazing and very helpful and kind. They make the whole hotel stay worth while.

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Portofino. It was a 4 minute walk to the touristy shops and food and the ferry to Portofino. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They stored our bags as long as needed and then the walk to the train was 5 minutes. The room was nice, just the bathroom was a bit original.

It is a nice familiar hotel. The service at the front desk is friendly, although some working at the front desk only speak Italian. The rooms are big and comfortable and clean. The equipment is already a bit old, but not broken. Of course it is no five star hotel, but good value for money. And you can find free parking in the streets nearby and the city center is in walking distance.

I stayed at this hotel for the second time on August 30th. The room was much larger than the previous one. Two large French windows opened onto the balcony. The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were friendly, and I'd say everything was fine. Despite the proximity to a busy road, the night was quite quiet.

We only stayed one night, but overall we had a good time. The room has a balcony, but it's very small, as is the bathroom (the sink is in the room, by the way), but we still found it clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodated our needs.

This place was great. It’s right next to the downtown part of the city and main strip to walk. Plenty of food options and about a hour walk to portofino. Bus would take less time but the walk itself is beautiful. The man who checked us in was extremely nice and gave us good recommendations. Would stay here again

This was a great surprise. Lovely place, fully remodeled, spacious & very clean. The check-in & check- out was super smooth. Please note, you have to reserve parking ahead. We weren’t aware of that but weew able to easily find street parking nearby. Very walkable location was a great plus also.

Lovely, small family run hôtel, set in an historic and atmospheric building, perched on a hill above the glorious, vibrant town of Rapallo. The staff were charming and helpful, breakfast was abundant and full of interest and the location was ideal. A short walk through a verdant park brings you to the hustle of the town.

Really peaceful and relaxing place, a lot better than a giant hotel where everyone run around and always something going on, homemade cookies are better that anything. love it so much, but there is one and only one problem, no elevator, you need to go with your bags all up to the stairs
