Thank you!! It was a pleasure to be your guest. As a solo traveler I felt safe and comfortable all the time. The view from my room was breathtaking and breakfast unbeatable 🥰

Rooms were fine. Not the cleanest but fine. Personnel is fine (maybe because I speak Italian), not rude at all. But the cleaning team left our room unlocked. And my wife smells a lingering smell of cigarette smoke.

Only a 10 min walk into the harbour and another 15 min bus ride into Portofino.
Room was pleasant and although no way modern it was quirky and adequate . Staff very friendly . Breakfast had enough variety to suit most . Parking for cars was very tight but managed by management meant that it was ok and no space wasted . Being from uk we expected a kettle in each room to make a coffee or tea yourself but after being in Italy for the last 5 days and 3 different hotels/ apts we now realise this isn’t the norm in Italy .
Great views across the mountains or harbour depending on ur room . Bed comfy.

Loved our stay! Cozy castle hotel with scenic views. Enjoyed our morning coffee by our scenic. Very good breakfast with diverse choices. Staff were helpful. Helped us arrange e-bikes for us to ride to Portofino. Great location, just a short walk to the center or bus stop to Portofino.

Charming property in an elevated position above Santa Margherita Ligure. Stunning views and beautiful castle architecture make up for the rather uncomfortable beds.

everything was good but there is a limited car park space on site. i suggest be sure to have a available car park space on phone before arrival

This was a very cool property I’m very glad I chose it. The room while a little dated was clean and comfortable. It was a hike up to the property but worth it. There are other hotels with easier access to the city center, but the view from this property is amazing.

We stayed at the Hotel Vela for 1 night only ( july 2025) it was around 15 minute walk from the train station Santa Margherita Ligure. The hotel is beautiful and offers stunning views, yes it’s a bit of a climb to get there but worth it! Breakfast was really nice set in a lovely room with a good choice of pastries, breads, yoghurts, cereal and fruit. Air conditioning was welcome in the July heat and the shower was great. Good night sleep as it’s such a peaceful setting.
