Hotel Delle Rose Rapallo in Rapallo

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Delle Rose in Rapallo for more than 2 weeks. If you’re looking for an authentic Italian hotel this is the place! The building is an old, typical Ligurian home that has been converted into a small hotel. The rooms I stayed in were large with big windows, high ceiling and beautiful marble floors with updated bathrooms. I even had a room with a small balcony to sit on and enjoy some afternoon sun. The beds were comfortable and clean and the rooms were serviced everyday by friendly staff.

The breakfast that was included was great. You had everything that you’d want from an Italian breakfast plus some things for kids and fresh fruit. The coffee machine made a good espresso or cappuccino and a dozen other types of drinks. There is also tea and cookies available in the same room during the rest of the day.

The location is also ideal, just on the outer edge of Rapallo the centre is only about a 8 or 10 minute walk along via Aurelia or through the park across the street.

The staff were absolutely wonderful. Enrico and his family were warm, kind and very happy to help if I ever needed anything.

I would highly recommend this charming and authentic hotel and would return next time I’m in the area.

We stayed for three nights at the end of February 2026, and we enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much. The location is perfect; you can take a beautiful path to the city center, which is fantastic. The rooms are very clean, and the breakfast is satisfying. The building, with its charming garden, is wonderful. Both the surroundings and the hotel itself are quiet and peaceful.

There is a parking area called Minigolf very close to the hotel. The hotel staff are friendly and attentive to every detail. I asked many questions via WhatsApp, and they responded quickly. Everything was smooth and well organized.

Lovely, small family run hôtel, set in an historic and atmospheric building, perched on a hill above the glorious, vibrant town of Rapallo. The staff were charming and helpful, breakfast was abundant and full of interest and the location was ideal. A short walk through a verdant park brings you to the hustle of the town.

In September 2025 we stayed in Hotel Delle Rose for what was to be our second visit. Our previous visit dates from september 2022 when we had a "Superior Double Room with Balcony", a room we found quite pleasant. So, for this year, we booked that same room. We learned that the hotel has a new owner, and this has resulted in some changes. The breakfast offerings are much more extensive than we remembered. There's a new coffee & tea machine, which guests can now use not only during breakfast, but throughout the day. So, anyone who wants to use the lounge can treat themselves to a drink. Nice! Even though the room itself was unchanged, there was a new air conditioning unit installed, and a new king size double bed, which proved to be wonderfully comfortable. The bathroom is on the smallish side and a bit dated, but it offers everything you need, if you can do without a bathtub. The main thing: it was clean! The hotel is full of Italian charm, it's comfortable, and welcoming. The new owner, Enrico, was very friendly and helpful. In fact, all the staff were also pleasant to deal with. We had a pleasant stay, and I do recommend this hotel. The hotel also offers access to a private beach, but I can't review it as we did not visit it. We'll save it for another visit...

Really peaceful and relaxing place, a lot better than a giant hotel where everyone run around and always something going on, homemade cookies are better that anything. love it so much, but there is one and only one problem, no elevator, you need to go with your bags all up to the stairs

Fantastic! Ten minutes walk from the Main Streets. 15 minutes walk from the train station. Old building with a lot of history and super clean. The owner stays at the desk and help you with everything including bike rentals, taxi etc.. Breakfast is great. On your check out day we have to leave early so he opens his breakfast room one hour before of the regular hours to accommodate our schedule. I’m thankful. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay in Hotel Delle Rose!
We were 3 and got one of the biggest room: one king sized bed and a single bed in the main room and a single bed in the other room.
Everything was perfectly clean.
If you’re looking for a restaurant, the Hotel is partnering with one (spécial menu for guest) and you can directly book through the reception.
Our host was really nice and recommended us a route to the city to enjoy the sea view/city.
Breakfast is good, lots of choices (especially cakes which we really liked).
We only stayed for one night but it was perfect!

I can safely say that our all too short stay at Hotel Delle Rose in Rapallo was the best in my 60 years. And, for context, I should point out that I appreciate old buildings for what they are and am not a fan of modern hotels, particularly ones which could be anywhere in the world. The proprietor, Enrico, was the most solicitous person ever on the wet and late evening of our arrival, and I felt like a 1920s starlet being ushered in with an umbrella held over me. Friendly, genuine and very, very helpful. As we had been travelling for 12 hours we were famished and our host had no hesitation advising us on the local pizza menu on his hotel computer for it to be delivered to our room. That, and a rather nice bottle of Prosecco, and we were shown to our delightful room. The hotel is a 1908 art deco villa with the most fabulous design features and reminds of the time when it was common to do the Grand Tour (think A Room With a View). It has retained most of its generous charms and there is no denying its heritage. The sweeping marble stair, the crystal chandeliers and intricate terrazzo floors ensure it. Our room (No. 3) was spacious and was to the front. The all important bed was very comfortable (Italian mattresses are among the best in the world, of course) and some antique furniture completed the look. There is heating, which was welcome with the January weather, and the view from our window was wonderful- a real mix of old and new(er) Italy. With only 10 rooms this hotel is super quiet and compared to the modern ones in the UK that we'd stayed in days earlier- a joy. The ensuite shower room was accessed by a very narrow door and was basic, spotless, and perfect as it was. Which brings me to the reviews of this hotel calling for modernisation- in my opinion there is nothing that needs to be changed, except, perhaps, the addition of more antique furniture to fully reinstate the glory of this amazing place. Anything "modern" would ruin the ambience and you would miss the grandeur of a bygone era. Breakfast is served in a triple aspect series of rooms and the views through the grand windows is stunning. The buffet-style breakfast was the very finest I have ever had in a hotel, and that is no exaggeration. Yes, I was a little wary of the big coffee "vending machine", but the latte macchiato was delicious and I had to indulge with a second cup. If there is one note of caution, and it is absolutely not a criticism, it is that the hotel is set up high off the road and there are steps to climb up to it. For me, as a mobility-impaired guest, I fortunately found the steps gentle enough to not struggle too much. But be advised- this may not suit wheelchair users. Note also that parking at the hotel is limited to two or three vehicles (due to its position on the side of a hill and a narrow road below) but there is a carpark across the road and down a side road where hotel guests can park with a hotel parking card (which you will be g

Lovely former Admirlals home dating from 1908 keeping all the original features eg chandeliers marble floor coving etc Staff are so very helpful a special call out to Angela and Juliana for being so kind Breakfast is simple but ample in a lovely dining room ,about 15 minutes to the town centre but the park walk is pretty or coastal route has lovely views Overall had a fab stay and would recommend this hotel
