Sottocoperta in Riomaggiore

We stayed in the superior apartment, the photos really don't do it justice. It is more spacious than it looks and brighter. The terrace is amazing and was the main reason we booked this apartment and it was also much bigger and better equipped than it looks! We loved our stay here and would absolutely stay here again. The location is perfect, it is on the main street in Riomaggiore so walking distance to everything in the town.

I'm not one to think I have any sort of high standard but I take issue with the following during my stay:

1 - the door between the bathroom is so bloody useless you could hear a fly blink making it extremely uncomfortable to use it with a partner in the bedroom.

2 - there was gravel or some sort of dirt in the sheets when opened first (picture)

3 - the fridge on max had as much cooling effect as waving a bottle in the air

4 - the soap packets given are novel but completely impractical. I might have just got duds but there was no opening slit on any of the 4 sachets so needed to open with my teeth sparingly during a shower. Not comfortable and not tasty.

5 - those stairs man. With two bags to move it felt precarious... Nothing the hotel can do about it but something that detracted and I wasn't aware of when booking.

6 - The bedside lamp had some questionable stains (picture)

With the cons out of the way there are some pros:

1 - The AC was more than adequate, something very welcomed after 40c temperature outside.

2 - The hotel couldn't be more central

3 - The host was extremely friendly

4 - Check in was smooth

5 - The pizza place downstairs was not half bad. Had quite a number of slices!
