This place is a (very pleasant) step back in time. The lobby evokes an late mid-century Italian vibe. The decor is understated and 60's Romanesque, but immaculately kept up and comfortable. With the perfect view, it's a perfect place to cool off and read a book while sipping on a €7 gargantuan gin and tonic.
The service is casual and efficient, but also very friendly. The rooms are vintage but have all the necessities including a fridge and mini bar. The beds are super soft and comfortable. (Ask for extra pillows.)
The views from the rooms are sublime, but the dining area and adjoining balcony with tables are the highlight. This is, by far, the best hotel deal we have had in Europe.

I just spent three nights at this wonderful hotel, in a seaview room and have enjoyed every day and night here. The views are exceptional, the service is excellent, and the private parking in front (for a fee) is a must for me. The buffet breakfast served in the dining room, and on the terrace, is complete and a beautiful way to start the day. Plus, the hotel is within walking distance of everything you’re here to see in Portovenere. The staff, and especially Leonardo, were very helpful, from my arrival to my departure.

Nice, soft beds for Italy. The view over the harbour is worth the stay. Lobby and breakfast room with a classic charm where we had a drink before dinner. Really rich breakfast.

This was described to us as a view with a bed. Going into it with that perspective we were not disappointed. The sunrise at breakfast is my favorite picture of the entire trip. The town is very walkable with great views of the water. Take the shuttle to one of the other islands for a lovely dinner

The location is simply outstanding, with a wonderful view of the sea "golfo dei poeti". The breakfast is very good, with an wide choice of both salty and sweet food. The staff has solved one of my worse problem, i.e. to find a parking for my car! Thank you so much!! Last, but not least, the room was comfortable, clean and silent.

Excellent location close to ferry terminal. The restaurant right below Belvedere ( not a part of the hotel) on the seaside serves delicious food. The rooms are dingy and pricy for their size. hotel Paradiso (same group) located a stone's throw from Belvedere is more modern with a breakfast room that has sweeping views of the harbour. Service courteous and friendly.
