Relaxing week spent by lake Maggiore. Our room had 3 balconies overlooking the lake and far reaching views of the mountains beyond. It was well equipped with large modern shower, air con but odd not to find a kettle. Breakfast on the terrace was joyful but choice of food was good but unchanging throughout the week. Had 2 meals in beautiful restaurant with views. Again the menu didn’t change and was heavy on lake fish ( inevitably) and service was quite a serious affair unlike Il Verbano which is the place to eat. Owned by Marco Sacco who also has the Michelin 2 star restaurant in Verbania. Staff at Belvedere were friendly and helpful and overall we have no reservations in recommending Belvedere on the Isola Pescatori. Also recommend visiting Isola Madre and Bella where there are the large interesting houses set in beautiful gardens. Our favourite place was Grand Hotel Des Iles Borromees in Stresa. Old world decadence with top class service. Sipping cocktails in the Hemingway bar was one of our happier moments.

Great place to stay on Isola de Pescatori. Restaurant was very good also.
Only complaint was the lack of dining options and nightlife on the island.

Located on a small, beautiful island with easy access from Stresa or Baveno with the boat, this place had everything we need. The rooms are modern and clean. We had a very good breakfast with a beautiful view at the lake. The staff helped us with everything.

Facilities are great. Location is difficult to reach as it’s not immediately obvious whole booming but you have to leave your vehicle on the mainland and take a ferry to reach the hotel.

Our very first hotel stay on our italy trip. A lovely hotel on a tiny island with a very good restaurant. Staff were very pleasent, the room was so quiet except when open to the balcony...the sound of lapping waves...so relaxing. It poured while we were there so we weren't in a rush to get out and about. The rain stopped in the afternoon so we ventured out. It felt like we had the whole island to ourselves. Not much open, but the weather made for a dramatic backdop. We got to see the mountains appearing through the clouds as we were leaving. The hotel was a perfect first stop on our journey.

A small group of us stayed here one night. Everything was perfect. Biggest shower I’ve seen in Italy, great breakfast with attentive staff. Front desk staff were also super friendly. The island was a great place to explore. The only thing I regret was that we didn’t eat dinner at the Belvedere, the group wanted to try somewhere else, and the other place was a bit of a disappointment. I highly recommend the Belvedere. Remember, you get out what you put in on an experience.

This is a very simple but beautiful hotel. The outlook is exceptional, the rooms are clean and functional, and the staff very helpful and friendly. I can only guess that it has only three stars because it doesn’t have some facilities, but it more than makes up for that with its position and views. If you are staying on the island it is probably because you like something different, this gives you that. We were travelling as two couples and this was one of the nicest places we stayed. But make sure you get a room with a view. At about 6pm when all the tourists go home, it is marvellous.

With my best friend, we wanted to visit the Borromee Islands and booked a 2-night stay at Belvedere. I had several exchanges with Cristina who is very prompt to reply. We arrived last Thursday (Oct; 12). The hotel is close to the ferry. Anyway, the island is very small. We had booked the one and only one suite. What a treat! The suite 301 is on the last floor. Beautiful decoration in shades of blue and 2 amazing terraces, including one facing the lake. The bathroom is just incredible; A huge bathtub from which you can see the lake and an Italian shower (big shower). Mini bar was complimentary. The quality of the towels was great and the vanities from l'Occitane. The room was bright, tidy and so quiet. The only sound was the silence.... The staff is very nice. Cristina had organized our transfer from Milan Malpensa and the driver was top notch. Breakfast on the terrace was divine. We had our first dinner at Belvedere (see specific review about our dinner). I definitely plan to come back to Belvedere next year early April!
