Mareneve Resort in Linguaglossa

Had planned to stay a full week at Mareneve due to its close proximity to Linguaglossa where our family lives. We were taken in by the reviews ( which I now realize are old). We checked into a junior suite to immediately hear a barking dog every time we either arrived at our door, went out on our shared balcony or in the middle of the night. The view from the balcony did face Mt. Etna which was beautiful but the shared balcony was not. There was a worn plastic table and 2 plastic chairs and dead flower beds. Inside was the round bed in the middle of the room (not sure why it’s placed there) and really isn’t large enough for 2 slightly taller adults. There are only 2 very small drawers for clothing. There is a wall of built-in surfaces (maybe a desk plus another flat surface). Bedside tables were of poor quality with 2 on one side of the bed with no outlets for the other side of bed. We really wanted to like the room but was just too quirky and not user-friendly. We only stayed one night before moving to another hotel - we had already paid in full for our stay before we traveled, so it was an pricey decision.
