Camping Village Rocchette in Castiglione della Pescaia

We were excited to visit Camping Village Rocchette, but our experience didn’t match expectations, especially for 250€ / night. The bungalow was much smaller and more cramped than the pictures suggested, and the interior had a persistent damp, musty smell that made it hard to feel comfortable.

There were a fair number of mosquitoes and moths in the area, which made evenings indoors less relaxing than we’d hoped. While we understand this can be part of being in nature, better sealing or insect prevention in the bungalow would’ve helped.

We also ran out of shower soap, and although we requested a replacement, we never received a response, which added to our frustration with the service.

The site itself was quite crowded, and the close spacing between bungalows meant limited privacy. For the price and the way it’s presented online, we expected something more comfortable and better maintained. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return.

We booked a pitch for our minivan for 2 nights and had high hopes for this camping village, as the website looked really promising and the price of 104 Euros was the highest out of all the camping sites we stayed throughout our holiday. They tell you that you can go to the private beach nearby which belongs to another hotel, but you could use everything from them. When we arrived and wanted to lay down at one of the sunbeds, they stopped us and told us that they cost 30 Euros (sunbed+umbrella), which was a bit surprising. However, the real disaster was the whole washing, showering and toilet area. You need to bring your own toilet paper, the toilets are obviously rarely cleaned as there is pee and in some cases feces right on the toilet ring. The room in which you shower is dark as there is only natural light and you only have one tiny hook to hang your clothes. Furthermore, the staff at the restaurant of the camping village seemed stressed and done with tourists. They practically threw our food and drinks on the table when they were walking by to attend to the next guests. All in all, the pitch, food and pool was really nice, but the toilets were a huge disappointment and thats why I would not recommend you stay there if sanitary conditions are important to you.

The campground is quite beautiful and the staff very very nice.
BUT, the beach is quite far away and you have to pay a lot of money to get a spot there and there's a huge concrete plate in the ground.
The pool area is very beautiful, the kids absolutely loved it, BUT the music is way to loud and it's very bad Italian pop mainstream, just too much.
Also you have to pay for a bed as well. The animation team is very nice as well but very unknowledgable, they seem to be teenagers that have to do everything from morning till late at night.
I think the price is way overrated.

The campground itself is beautiful and the pool area really is worth going there...
we won't be coming back though as the negatives just overweighed the positives.

Over priced dive. Once your there they squeeze you dry for money. The restaurant is overpriced and very average. The rooms stink of must. The reception staff are extremely rude. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. Waste of money. Waste of time. Avoid. Avoid.

Totally no go! We paid 180 euros for 1 night, the room was dirty, full of spiders, bad smelling. Everything is very old, even if the idea of the entire resort is nice, but they did no updates meanwhile. We were asked to pay for sun beds inside the resort, even though at checkin they told us everything inside is free (actually included in the 180 euros per night). Disappointing.
