Il Rivalta - Place of Charme in Florence

I stayed in Florence 3 years ago, and when my friends tell me they are taking a trip here, this hotel jumps to the top of my mind. I'd like to forget this dreadful hotel but they really did their best to make it an awful experience. I'm glad to see other people are also complaining about how the room photos are NOTHING like the rooms themselves and that the hotel staff are so unhelpful (insane that they showed no flexibility for the other person in this review section who was stuck because of Dubai floods). It's actually so depressing that they continue to swindle people. If someone from the hotel replies to my comment, they better not say that they will look into this. That's such a useless reply. They can see from so many other reviewer comments that their room photos are misleading! They should reflect on themselves and not fight the customer... but I guess that's an impossible task for them.

Walked into the hotel and was pleasantly surprised at first glance. Once we got past the lobby and checked in, things completely changed. Rooms are completely different from the photos. In addition, the hotel neglected to tell us there was construction work being done and only informed us once we called down to complain. They stated the prior guest damaged the room and it needed to be repaired immediately, however, never once bothered to notify us before checking in so that we may make alternate arrangements. After going down to the front desk to ask for a different room, the front staff told us there was only one other room that was available and would require us to pay to upgrade. Once we asked how much the difference would be, they informed us the room was no longer available and we would be required to stay in our room since they were fully committed for the night. I am not the type to write reviews but this experience has been so ridiculous I figured I’d warn other potential guests.

Beware! Please read before booking this hotel. My boyfriend and I stayed at this property from August 3 to 5th 2021. We were very unhappy with our experience as the pictures on Booking.com are NOTHING like the room we got. We complained to the front desk and they said they could not move us rooms as they were fully booked, furthermore, the hotel manager refused to let us cancel our second night. They claim to be a 4 star property on Booking.com, however, this only applies to the lobby. The rooms are probably a 2-star quality as there was rust in our shower, crooked lamps, cracks in the wall, and unknown spatter on the wall. As it was my birthday on the 3rd, it really ruined our experience of Florence, because as you can imagine, the last thing you want to do on your birthday is 'fight' with the hotel you're staying at. We spoke with another man in the elevator who also complained that his hotel room didn't match his booking either. Stay far and clear of this property! I truly hope the property updates their pictures so that shoppers can see the true condition of the room they're booking.

I had a terrible experience staying at this hotel. The bathroom fitting has moss , internet rarely works and when it does, the speed is very slow. The rooms has a dull feeling and when you flush toilets the water splashes out. The customer service is also very bad, I had called the front desk several times before they attended my call. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
