We enjoyed La Luna Guesthouse. The location is great. Everything is within walking distance of main attractions, but not directly in the hustle and bustle of tourism. About a 10 minute walk and you’re directly into popular tourist attractions. Our room was spacious, and we had some larger bags from being in Europe for a long time. Riccardo was gracious and helped us bring our bags inside. The rooms were clean and we had our own bathroom / shower area which was also comfortable and had more than enough space for us to feel comfortable. Riccardo was extremely kind. Before the trip, he was responsive and quick to reply to any questions I had. When we arrived, he sat down with us to tell us all about the attractions, the best spots to go for a run, eat, and where scenic views are. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were excellent. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse and would recommend La Luna as accommodation for others travelling to Florence. Riccardo was the most responsive host and his hospitality is fantastic!

Our room was very nice, comfortable, and quiet with an equally nice bathroom and shower. The guesthouse manager (Riccardo) was incredibly helpful. He assisted in planning or giving recommendations for many of our experiences (tours, museums, restaurants and public transportation). While about three equal blocks from both the main tourist area and the train station, it was nice to be separated from all the hoopla and chaos at night. Riccardo definitely made a difference in our vacation.

"Our host, Ricardo was super friendly and helpful, and gave us lots of great recommendations for things to do and places to see around town. The room and bed were very comfortable and beautiful. We travelled around Europe for almost a month, and this was our favorite stay. I highly recommend."

La Luna Guesthouse is a perfect option if you truly want to feel at home in Florence. It is a close 5 minute walk to a bus stop and tram stop to take you closer to the city center, or a 20 minute walk along the river to reach the center of Florence. Riccardo, the owner, is extremely considerate and offers many recommendations for things to do and places to see in Florence. He makes sure that guests feel comfortable and at home. Also, the place is very clean and in a quiet, safe building. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Riccardo was a fantastic host. His instructions were clear and provided great communication. He also gave us dinning and points of interest, all of which were great recommendations. I would absolutely stay with him again.

Our experience at La Luna Guesthouse was nothing short of extraordinary thanks to Riccardo. From the moment we arrived, Riccardo went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.

Riccardo personally met us for check-in, giving us a warm welcome and a tour of the beautifully adorned and frescoed guesthouse. The guesthouse itself is a gem - conveniently located and within easy walking distance of Florence's most iconic attractions. We were just steps away from the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery, and the Ponte Vecchio.

What truly sets La Luna apart is Riccardo's exceptional hospitality. He provided us with a wealth of recommendations for exploring the city. His suggestions for lesser-known trattorias and cafes were spot on!

Even after our stay, Riccardo's kindness and dedication really showed when we found ourselves stranded in Florence due to a transit strike. Without hesitation, he sprang into action, calling friends to find us alternative transportation and accommodation. He continued to check on us throughout our travels in Italy, demonstrating a level of care that went far beyond our expectations.

In all our travels, we've never encountered a host as attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in his guests' experiences as Riccardo. La Luna Guesthouse isn't just a place to stay; it's a home away from home, made exceptional by its outstanding host.

Wonderful
Our stay at La Luna guesthouse was amazing! The guesthouse really makes you feel like you’re in the city of art. With only a short walk to the centre, the space also had everything we needed. The owner was incredible and very helpful. Wonderful stay!!!

Reasonably priced for Florence, this guesthouse is about a 20 minute walk along the river, from the historic centre. There is a tram stop about 5 minutes away and you can ride the tram one stop to Santa Maria Novella train station and then walk if you prefer. Riccardo was waiting for us when we arrived and carried our cases upstairs. We stayed in the room with the private bathroom and fresco on the ceiling. There was a balcony but it was unusable as it overlooked a small courtyard full of rubbish. The bed was comfortable but the shower had very low pressure, fortunately we were only there a short time so the need to wash my hair didn't arise; however, if I had needed to wash my hair the pressure in the shower would have been an issue. Riccardo was very helpful giving us plenty of info concerning things to do in and around the area. My main annoyance was on the day we were due to leave. Riccardo had asked us the day before, if we could be out of the room by 10.30am, we said that was fine and it wasn't a problem. On the morning we were due to leave I got four text messages from Riccardo in the space of one minute starting at 08.47 telling us he was already there waiting in the kitchen and the last message at 08.48 saying he needed the room at approximately 10.30am. This was extremely annoying as we had already confirmed 10.30 was OK and it wasn't even 09.00!! We had been out late the night before as it was our Wedding Anniversary, which was our reason for visiting Florence, so we were having a lie in as all we needed to do was get up and shower. Who bothers people and sends them 4 messages within the space of a minute early in the morning and over an hour and a half before they need to vacate the room?? I ignored the messages and at 10.10am Riccardo was knocking at our door to see if we were ready. This was very annoying to say the least as although showered, I wasn't dressed. I also accidentally broke a glass the night before so out of politeness my husband offered to pay for it and Riccardo took 5 euros for a cheap wine glass, saying "that should cover it". I will be honest, I didn't expect him to take any money (it was just a polite gesture) as every other hotel or guesthouse I have ever stayed in understands that small breakages happen and don't charge the guest for them. I would understand if we had broken something major or expensive, but not a cheap wine glass which I'm sure could have been replaced for far less than 5 euros. Although our stay was comfortable we would not stay there again due to the wine glass and early morning texting issues.

We were disappointed with our stay. First of all, be prepared to haul your luggage up two long flights of steps upon arrival. We were surprised to learn that this is no longer a "bed and breakfast" as no breakfast is offered. The closest place to get breakfast is up the street at the corner bar and breakfast corner where a lot of homeless tend to hang out. Also, the other surprise was that our bathroom was not in our bedroom. Although it was not a shared bathroom, it was not attached to our 8x10 room. The one plus to this place is the owner. He could not be nicer and more helpful to directions and sites to see.
