The room was better than I expected. I heard it's a historic hotel, so it must have been renovated; it looked quite new. I stayed on the first floor, and the open-air bath was so beautiful—you could step right outside!

We used this as a simplified version of our honeymoon. We were able to relax in a calm atmosphere. We thought it was a little pricey since we were staying over a long weekend, but we were very satisfied with the quality of the hot spring water.

The facilities are old but well-maintained. I thought it was interesting that you could reserve private baths and various entertainment options. Honestly, given the low price that provides 2 meals and onsen experiences, I think it is quite good for value, but of course the building is very old and rather broken (although it is still usable). But then, it will take an hour to go to Nikko and the surrounding area isn't interesting to visit, just to stay in this hotel is not a very good option especially if you want to go hiking in Nikko.

The buffet has a wide variety of food, but it seems to be outsourced and pre-made. They've renovated the old facilities, but nothing is wasted and they're environmentally friendly. The water is lukewarm, so I recommend taking a long bath.

The food🍴 was great, the bath was okay, but there was one unfortunate thing I forgot to mention to the front desk. There was a large centipede in my room. I don't like killing things, so I put some insect repellent outside the room.

This hotel is special because everything is handmade. I love that local artists and craft is supported here and would live to see more of that around Japan.

We had a great time in Nikko. The hotel is clean, very refined, rooms are great and the sentō is just amazing!

To my surprise, many of the hotel staff spoke English, which greatly facilitated communication. Considering the price I paid, the service and food quality were excellent. Impeccable.

I've lost.my bag in the bus when I arrived at the hotel. I immediately seek the hotel staffs for help. They were very helpful and making calls to the places that I've may have left it. Train station, bus company. Lastly, was very lucky to have found it back. Someone picked up and passed it to the bus driver. In Japan, there's always a chance of finding back lost item. It's very safe.

Beautiful tasteful high ceiling public bath . Very relaxing when talking the bath while facing a large forest. The Japanese-style rooms are clean and the bedding is comfortable. The price is very reasonable.

This hotel is absolutely wonderful! Opening the window, you're greeted with a stunning view of red maple trees. The food is also exceptional; there are countless small dishes and bowls, and you'll definitely leave feeling completely full. The Japanese-style room overlooking the valley was nice, and the open-air hot spring was great. If you're driving, I recommend visiting Nikko Toshogu Shrine and then staying overnight at Kinugawa Onsen.

I used to shop more than 20 years ago, but I can't compare with now. First of all, the food portions are standard now, the quality is ordinary. The biggest problem is that we haven't checked out and they want to clean up the room. The service is also ordinary, a little better than Hong Kong, and young people should accept it. But compared to before, there is a gap between heaven and earth

An old hot spring hotel with the famous staircase bridge right next door. The rooms are quite traditional Japanese style. The hot springs are divided into inside and outside. The outdoor area is relatively small but the view is great.

This was my first time using this hotel. I was a bit worried because the exterior looked old, but the interior had been renovated and was clean, with the atmosphere of a resort hotel. There was an open-air hot spring bath on the balcony, which I enjoyed.

The staff were all wonderful and I had a very comfortable stay. There were no sightseeing spots nearby and I was worried about how to kill time until my train, but they let me wait on a sofa in the hotel lounge, and since it was raining, they drove me to the station in their luxury car.

We enjoyed our stay at Nanaeyae during autumn. The staff were wonderful throughout and served us delicious meals. We also particularly enjoyed the onsen bath which was well-maintained and invigorating.

We had a lovely stay, experiencing aspects of Japanese culture - such as the food, Japanese room and the beautiful onsen. It was further away from the Nikko World Heritage Site than we realised when booking. However, we rather enjoyed the picturesque train ride there each day. The staff were very courteous and we were given gifts on our departure.

I went to Nikko for a trip and stayed at the Kinugawa Onsen Hotel the night before. It included one dinner and one breakfast, and there was also a natural hot spring ♨️ to use. I took a bus from Kinugawa Onsen Station for 300 yen directly to the main entrance of the hotel. The front desk service was warm, and the dinner and breakfast were also very rich!

A rather unique hot spring hotel. The room I booked was a Japanese-style room (washitsu), purely tatami room, and there's no bathroom inside – please be aware of this. To bathe, you need to go to a separate, traditional Japanese hot spring bath, separated by gender, where you must be naked and thoroughly washed before entering.
