Hotel is in a quiet and scenic location. Good hot spring bath. Nice gift shop. Clean modern Japanese-style room.
A fantastic experience! We traveled with our elders and two-year-old, and it seemed perfect for a family trip. The food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast, and the staff was excellent! Most importantly, the hotel was very clean and tidy! Highly recommended!
A rather unique hot spring hotel. The room I booked was a Japanese-style room (washitsu), purely tatami room, and there's no bathroom inside – please be aware of this. To bathe, you need to go to a separate, traditional Japanese hot spring bath, separated by gender, where you must be naked and thoroughly washed before entering. Opinions on the experience vary, but the Japanese seem to enjoy it, haha...
The location is great. Lake Yu is absolutely beautiful.
The service and facilities were excellent. The snow on the road in front of the hotel was cleared promptly. The price/performance ratio was very high and I would definitely choose this hotel again.
The hotel is located at the end of Lake Yunoko. The environment is quiet and beautiful, suitable for self-driving. The rooms are neat and clean, there is free parking, breakfast and dinner are rich and delicious, and there are hot springs of both indoor and outdoor sizes. The only problem is that the room only has a toilet and no bathroom. You have to go to the public bath to take a bath, which is...

The service was great, but the room had a very strong paint smell. The facilities were quite old. Personally, I think it's really bad for people's health to rent out a room with such a strong paint odor. Breakfast was decent, and the hot spring was pretty average but still nice.
I don’t understand why someone would leave a negative review due to their own negligence. Trip.com clearly mentioned the additional 300-yen tax (I assume this is the onsen tax) per person, yet they still claimed they were “scammed.” My overall experience at Hotel Euro City was wonderful. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the shuttle bus service was amazing. If you want to get to the hotel...
Hotel design is dated. Feels like an old mansion.  Location is walkable from Tobu Nikko station, around 20-25 minutes. Cannot recommend to do this at night. They do have a shuttle bus that runs 3 times a day from/to Tobu Nikko station. Good alternative is a taxi, which costs around 800-900 yen. The private onsen at your own balcony is a plus. Shower is, weirdly, located on the balcony as well. The...
Beautiful place. Convenient walking distance to the temples. Warm bath on the balcony. Modest breakfasts.
Good, I will be back next time

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I will stay here again if I visit Nikko
Location is abit off the main road and you need a car if you want to go sightseeing around Nikko area. Hotel staff was polite and the service was immaculate. The rooms were clean and amenities was of high quality. Food was delicious and the public bath was clean and good. Highly recommended for couples or for people who want to chill and do nothing.
10/10 satisfaction, because my wife was very satisfied. The hotel isn't large, but the design is thoughtful and meticulous. I especially appreciated the private bath (¥2000/hour) and the inner garden view. The two meals included with the stay were excellent; the sashimi was served in an ice basin, a thoughtful touch.
Service is perfect and took care of everything well. Location wise not so convenient and better for self driving, otherwise cannot go anywhere nearby. One point should improve is the check out time is 10:30AM, which is way earlier than most hotel and may cause some inconvenience for some travelers.
This small, beautiful hotel is tastefully decorated with Japanese art and objects. We chose Western-style beds.  The room was spacious and airy. Sandals are provided for walking in the hallways; no shoes or sandals on the room’s traditional mats.  Breakfast and dinner are high cuisine, artfully presented in private dining rooms. The set dinner menu is 7 courses and way too much food, even with small...
Excellent staff, location and facilities. We enjoyed the food and the private hot tub on our balcony. All of the staff were very friendly, and went above and beyond with any request. Just avoid getting a massage. The masseuse was horrible. She had my wife keep her robe on and then covered her with towels before roughly rubbing her. She ended up with rug burns on her feet and a kinked neck. If...

Great location near the station, fantastic views of the river, and great amenities inside like a basic gym, some instruments, and onsen.
This was my first time at Kinugawa Onsen. I saw that many inns had closed, but I hope Fukumatsu-san is still doing well. It was cheap, quiet and great.
Clean and tidy, with unique decor throughout, and a great view from the window.
Japanese-style hotel, very interesting. The river view room is also well-deserved, generally OK 👍👍
I got a spacious room. Sadly no shower available before 4pm. The open air bath is a must try.
This is a traditional hot spring hotel with an attractive price and excellent value for money. It's a short walk from the station, but there is a Lawson on the way, so you won't have any trouble getting food or daily necessities. The hotel is equipped with recreational equipment such as guitars, ukuleles, punching bags, and children's swings, so there is plenty of room for fun. In the morning, we were...

My sister and I had a wonderful ltime. The room was very clean with a stunning view and walking distance to Kegon Fall. The dinner and breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed both the internal and external onsen and massage chair.
Nice hotel in good location of Chuzenji lake. Peaceful quiet and relaxing with onsen 👍🏻
I’m so happy to have stayed at Hotel Hana An Chuzen-ji Lake Nikko! The view from my room was absolutely stunning. I booked a room without meals but added dinner on my second day, and it was a great choice! The staff were all very kind and spoke English well, which made my stay even more comfortable. Highly recommended!
We want to thank Hotel Hanaan for such a beautiful stay. The location is perfect and has stunning views of the lake. They provided guests with pyjamas, kimonos, indoor and outdoor slippers too, which could be worn to breakfast in the mornings. Breakfast was very delicious too, worth booking. The inn is located right in front of Lake Chuzenji, and although it is compact, it was quiet and comfortable. The food was delicious, but I was also impressed by the colorful tableware that was used to serve it.
Facilities: I loved it. It's new and very comfortable. Cleanliness: Very clean. I loved it. Environment: The window overlooks Lake Chuzenji. Opening the curtains in the morning is truly stunning. Service: Warm and attentive. I really enjoyed this hotel and would definitely stay again.

The view from the room was great, the room itself was clean, and the items were well organized, making it a comfortable stay. The large public bath was also clean.
A quaint lodging in the Yumoto onsen area. The facilities were dated but the staff was friendly. Transport could be difficult as there was only one bus. No konbinis or shops in the vicinity so we had our meals at the ryokan.

Although the room is an old Japanese hotel, the price is good and affordable
It was good value for the price, but the portions are small.

The hotel is beautiful, has a great atmosphere, and excellent service, but it's a bit far and not suitable for those without a car. The food was delicious.
The hotel is old, so it feels worn, but the hot springs and food were really good. I plan to come back again.
There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, making it convenient to Yumoto and Lake Chuzenji. The hotel receptionist spoke near-native English, making communication seamless and friendly. The room was spacious, with a large meadow outside the window. At night, I could see many wild deer grazing outside. The food was delicious, and the open-air hot spring was also very nice.
The hotel is in oku nikko which surrounded by nature. If you love nature or snow in winter. This is a perfect place to stay. Outside Onsen also surrounded by snow but unfortunately we cannot see the star that day.
Nice hotel with very friendly staff. You have several activity right outside of the hotel and can take the bus to do some more. The room we had was big and comfortable.
It was fully booked when we stayed there but we didn't feel the crowd. Quiet and peaceful, a great place to stay if you are visiting the Oku-nikko area. Easier to access for those who self drive. The room was clean and the bathroom and toilet were separate (the bath was open-air and the shower was also outside). It was a comfortable stay.
As mentioned in other reviews, both breakfast and dinner were a bit underwhelming. For dinner, I ordered the 100% beef hamburger and Mexican salad. The salad was delicious, and the burger was wonderfully meaty. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, ham and sausage, salad, and yogurt. The sesame bread was delicious. However, the coffee was lukewarm and undrinkable. The public bath felt quite small...
The hotel is located mid-mountain, away from the city center. There are public buses from Nikko Station to Kirifuri Plateau, but they run infrequently. When we arrived, pushing our luggage, we didn't consider other options; a taxi would have been the most time-efficient option, costing 800 yen. The hotel staff were polite and smiling. Since it was only 12:30 PM, they checked us in and stored our luggage...
The hotel is quite old and difficult to get to. The only convenience is that there is a free shuttle bus from the hotel, Classic. The outdoor bathtub is quite well made. The room is spacious, but the bathroom has a strong smell. The room has a musty smell like dust. There is a restaurant next door that opens until late at night. I used this hotel when I was traveling! I was told that there were a lot of mites, so I brought medicine just in case, but it wasn't that bad (individual results may vary)! What's more, the food was delicious 😋 The dining room is in a separate building, but it's spacious, so there's nothing to complain about ♪ Would I recommend it?
It's a nice, clean hotel, with very pleasant receptionists who explained everything in detail. The complimentary drinks offer a wide variety. One downside: a man came in the morning, even though it was only 9:40 a.m., asked for directions, and immediately opened the door. Be careful and lock the door from the inside. Breakfast and dinner are delicious, but are the lights bright during mealtimes? It...

Absolutely delighted with our stay! We stayed for two nights on a room-only basis. Our main purpose was to visit Nikko Toshogu Shrine, so we specifically chose this accommodation for its convenient walking distance. The public bath is SO NICE. The traditional accommodation is also a nice departure from the typical hotel stay, highly recommend

Very kind receptionist and a very calm atmosphere inside the hotel. The capsule was very comfortable and clean! Also there was a bathhouse on the first floor with a hot bath which was especially convenient and very soothing after a adventurous day in the mountains!
My stay at Hotel Famitic Nikko was fantastic, and I'd highly recommend it. The location is perfect for exploring the area – just a 5-minute walk from Nikko station and conveniently situated right opposite a FamilyMart. Impressed by the amount of courtesy received at my stay.
I stayed at Ichifuji for one night, during late March of 2025. I was looking for a local ryokan, one with an onsen. I had booked this ryokan 2 weeks in advance, as it was one of the few that welcomed single travelers. While rustic, and showing a little of it's age, I would whole-heartedly recommend this place to my friends, and others who are looking for a more "cozy" vibe. The ryokan is run by an...

The staff were all friendly and warm! I made a reservation for breakfast, and as you can see in the photo, I was treated to a lot of hospitality and had a luxurious breakfast! We were free to rent out the bath depending on the timing! I would like to use it again!
First, the disadvantages. There are only stairs. There is no elevator. The top floor is on the 3rd floor, so it is not recommended for those who cannot go up to the 3rd floor. Is that the only place? Comfortable stay but overall the property is a bit old and aged.
The room was clean and tidy, and the service was very enthusiastic. We arrived at the hotel late, and the hot water was already boiled in the room and the air conditioner was turned on, making us feel at home. The dinner was very rich, the Tochigi Wagyu was delicious, but there was no WiFi

The Japanese-style room overlooking the valley was nice, and the open-air hot spring was great. If you're driving, I recommend visiting Nikko Toshogu Shrine and then staying overnight at Kinugawa Onsen.
I used to shop more than 20 years ago, but I can't compare with now. First of all, the food portions are standard now, the quality is ordinary. The biggest problem is that we haven't checked out and they want to clean up the room. The service is also ordinary, a little better than Hong Kong, and young people should accept it. But compared to before, there is a gap between heaven and earth
An old hot spring hotel with the famous staircase bridge right next door. The rooms are quite traditional Japanese style. The hot springs are divided into inside and outside. The outdoor area is relatively small but the view is great.

I used a flat type room. I relaxed with the feeling of being a completely private space. The room bath was nice, but the hot springs for rent were also the best. I didn't pass each other while I was moving to the annex, so I went in smoothly. The customer service was polite from beginning to end, and I was able to spend a wonderful time paying attention during the meal.
