Nikko, 2204, 321-1415 Nikko, Prefektura Totigi, Yaponiya 🧭 Map
I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I will stay here again if I visit Nikko
Location is abit off the main road and you need a car if you want to go sightseeing around Nikko area. Hotel staff was polite and the service was immaculate. The rooms were clean and amenities was of high quality. Food was delicious and the public bath was clean and good. Highly recommended for couples or for people who want to chill and do nothing.
10/10 satisfaction, because my wife was very satisfied. The hotel isn't large, but the design is thoughtful and meticulous. I especially appreciated the private bath (¥2000/hour) and the inner garden view. The two meals included with the stay were excellent; the sashimi was served in an ice basin, a thoughtful touch.
Service is perfect and took care of everything well. Location wise not so convenient and better for self driving, otherwise cannot go anywhere nearby. One point should improve is the check out time is 10:30AM, which is way earlier than most hotel and may cause some inconvenience for some travelers.
This small, beautiful hotel is tastefully decorated with Japanese art and objects. We chose Western-style beds.  The room was spacious and airy. Sandals are provided for walking in the hallways; no shoes or sandals on the room’s traditional mats.  Breakfast and dinner are high cuisine, artfully presented in private dining rooms. The set dinner menu is 7 courses and way too much food, even with small...
Excellent staff, location and facilities. We enjoyed the food and the private hot tub on our balcony. All of the staff were very friendly, and went above and beyond with any request. Just avoid getting a massage. The masseuse was horrible. She had my wife keep her robe on and then covered her with towels before roughly rubbing her. She ended up with rug burns on her feet and a kinked neck. If...

Great location near the station, fantastic views of the river, and great amenities inside like a basic gym, some instruments, and onsen.
This was my first time at Kinugawa Onsen. I saw that many inns had closed, but I hope Fukumatsu-san is still doing well. It was cheap, quiet and great.
Clean and tidy, with unique decor throughout, and a great view from the window.
Japanese-style hotel, very interesting. The river view room is also well-deserved, generally OK 👍👍
I got a spacious room. Sadly no shower available before 4pm. The open air bath is a must try.
This is a traditional hot spring hotel with an attractive price and excellent value for money. It's a short walk from the station, but there is a Lawson on the way, so you won't have any trouble getting food or daily necessities. The hotel is equipped with recreational equipment such as guitars, ukuleles, punching bags, and children's swings, so there is plenty of room for fun. In the morning, we were...

My sister and I had a wonderful ltime. The room was very clean with a stunning view and walking distance to Kegon Fall. The dinner and breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed both the internal and external onsen and massage chair.
Nice hotel in good location of Chuzenji lake. Peaceful quiet and relaxing with onsen 👍🏻
I’m so happy to have stayed at Hotel Hana An Chuzen-ji Lake Nikko! The view from my room was absolutely stunning. I booked a room without meals but added dinner on my second day, and it was a great choice! The staff were all very kind and spoke English well, which made my stay even more comfortable. Highly recommended!
We want to thank Hotel Hanaan for such a beautiful stay. The location is perfect and has stunning views of the lake. They provided guests with pyjamas, kimonos, indoor and outdoor slippers too, which could be worn to breakfast in the mornings. Breakfast was very delicious too, worth booking. We originally booked for 1 night only, but contacted them the day before with the prospect of extending our...
The inn is located right in front of Lake Chuzenji, and although it is compact, it was quiet and comfortable. The food was delicious, but I was also impressed by the colorful tableware that was used to serve it.
Facilities: I loved it. It's new and very comfortable. Cleanliness: Very clean. I loved it. Environment: The window overlooks Lake Chuzenji. Opening the curtains in the morning is truly stunning. Service: Warm and attentive. I really enjoyed this hotel and would definitely stay again.

The room was clean and the bathroom and toilet were separate (the bath was open-air and the shower was also outside). It was a comfortable stay.
As mentioned in other reviews, both breakfast and dinner were a bit underwhelming. For dinner, I ordered the 100% beef hamburger and Mexican salad. The salad was delicious, and the burger was wonderfully meaty. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, ham and sausage, salad, and yogurt. The sesame bread was delicious. However, the coffee was lukewarm and undrinkable. The public bath felt quite small...
The hotel is located mid-mountain, away from the city center. There are public buses from Nikko Station to Kirifuri Plateau, but they run infrequently. When we arrived, pushing our luggage, we didn't consider other options; a taxi would have been the most time-efficient option, costing 800 yen. The hotel staff were polite and smiling. Since it was only 12:30 PM, they checked us in and stored our luggage...
The hotel is quite old and difficult to get to. The only convenience is that there is a free shuttle bus from the hotel, Classic. The outdoor bathtub is quite well made. The room is spacious, but the bathroom has a strong smell. The room has a musty smell like dust. There is a restaurant next door that opens until late at night. There are not many convenience stores and restaurants in the area.
Far away from the centre. There is shuttle bus from their partner hotel at classic nikko hotel which is opposite nikko station. Just inform the recepcionist you are hotel euro guest and would like to take the shuttle bus. Shuttle bus from hotel euro to tobu station is 9, 9.15, 9.30 am. The staff provided excellent service. My only disappointment was not being aware beforehand that parking wasn't available until 3 PM. This made it challenging to meet up with my international guests. Had I known this in advance, we could have made much smoother arrangements, so I hope this information is clearly communicated for future guests.
Absolutely delighted with our stay! We stayed for two nights on a room-only basis. Our main purpose was to visit Nikko Toshogu Shrine, so we specifically chose this accommodation for its convenient walking distance. While it's a bit of a walk from the station, there are plenty of dining options along the way, so finding food was never an issue. We were pleasantly surprised to find complimentary bread...
The public bath is SO NICE. The traditional accommodation is also a nice departure from the typical hotel stay, highly recommend
An authentic ryokan experience. Charming. The only drawback was always having to leave the key at the front desk.
The best option for budget try of Japanese rekan. Good location, good service, simple onsen included.
It was a great experience staying in a traditional ryokan, visit an onsen (public bath) and use a yukata (Japanese robe). Lovely staff, great location and spacious and clean room. A futon mattress would have made the experience even better, but the down duvet was wonderful.

Hotel opens at 3pm for check in. We got there a few minutes early and there were people just waiting outside to be let in. There are also no luggage storage but they provided a few paid lockers. The rooms are small but good for a short stay. The WiFi connection is not great, had it one night and the next night it was down until the next morning. There's also the free public bath facility downstairs...
Very kind receptionist and a very calm atmosphere inside the hotel. The capsule was very comfortable and clean! Also there was a bathhouse on the first floor with a hot bath which was especially convenient and very soothing after a adventurous day in the mountains!
My stay at Hotel Famitic Nikko was fantastic, and I'd highly recommend it. The location is perfect for exploring the area – just a 5-minute walk from Nikko station and conveniently situated right opposite a FamilyMart. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which always makes a stay more pleasant. One of the highlights was the onsen, which was a wonderful way to relax after a day of sightseeing...
Perfect for a solo, minimalist traveler. The bunks were perfectly cozy with an adequate amount of room both in the bunk and next to it for your gear and to change clothes. Everyone was quiet and respectful and I had no complaints during my stay. The employees were kind, polite, and helpful throughout. There was access to an onsen but I was unable to use it due to my tattoos which I understood and respected...
This is a very nice place. Though the room is small but it fits the requirements of a traveller. It is more than sufficient for single occupancy and just ok for double occupancy. But i must say the cleanliness is top notch. The room and the attached toilet was spotless. Thanks to the owner for such nice maintenance of the property.

Yutorelo Nikko, nestled by Lake Chuzenji in Okunikko, is a lakeside inn with hot springs. The rooms are spacious and clean, offering excellent value for money.
The room ambiance is great, and the lake view is beautiful. Breakfast and dinner are also quite good, not just for show. The service attitude is excellent. However, the hot spring water hasn't been particularly hot these past two days, though it definitely has that authentic natural hot spring smell. Personally, I'm also not a huge fan of having a sheet between me and the duvet... even though that...
The hotel's location is okay, but it lacks amenities. It's convenient for hiking, but not for visiting other attractions. After 6 PM, the entire street is deserted with no shops open. There are absolutely no convenience stores. Even the regular bus is quite expensive. One time, I missed the last bus and had to take a taxi from the city back to the hotel, which cost a whopping 8600 yen. Very expensive
The BEST hostel I ever stayed in! If you are staying in Lake Chuzenji in Nikko you got to stay here. It is a hostel within a hotel so it is very clean, safe and very big. The staff are very friendly and everything is amazing. They have a free onsen + a lounge with drinks, tea, wine, coffee, and ice cream bars that you could take! They have a microwave too if you need it and a hot water dispenser...
This was an interesting stay I was very obviously here in the absolute off season. The hotel is run in an interesting mix of can be cheap and can be high class. I didn't book with dinner included which is a mistake because during off season the surroundings were somewhat lacking no Konbini. The hotel offered microwaved food a bit pricily for the people who hadn't ordered the high class dinner option...
Great value for money (what more could you ask for? LOL), unbeatable views, and a large public bath. Breakfast and dinner are mainly Western-style, perfect for introverts looking to relax. Very good Onsen and I recommend you to reserve meals at the hotel in advance.
The place was just OK. My room smelled a little musty and the interiors were fading but I guess it's just an old establishment, and I wasn't expecting much going in considering the price. The exterior was also under renovation as of mid-November 2025 so I didn't have a view from my window. The front staff made good attempt to communicate in English so I'm grateful. Very nice hotel with nice shared onsens (both indoor and outdoor). Although not the most romantic, the onsens have good and clean water and they were not crowded when we went to them. The hotel provides one-way shuttle bus to Nikko city at 9.30 every morning, and you can get back with public buses that take ~80 minutes and cost 2 k¥. There was maybe some miscommunication about dinners, because we...
The hotel is located in the mountains and is very quiet. Although the buildings and rooms are relatively old, the maintenance and cleanliness are up to standard. Their dinner and breakfast are especially delicious and unforgettable. Every waiter was very enthusiastic. It is more convenient to drive by yourself.

Made use of the Onsen which was very relaxing , being close to Lake Yuniko it was great to get out and walk with such beautiful nature nearby.

The staff were very attentive, as always in Japan. The breakfast was extraordinary. The only slight drawback was that we stayed Sunday night. The hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings. However, there are plenty of dining options within walking distance, so it wasn't a major issue. On the plus side, we had access to the baths all night.
Comfortable stay but overall the property is a bit old and aged.
The room was clean and tidy, and the service was very enthusiastic. We arrived at the hotel late, and the hot water was already boiled in the room and the air conditioner was turned on, making us feel at home. The dinner was very rich, the Tochigi Wagyu was delicious, but there was no WiFi
Old hotel but very clean, great location, can walk to Nikko Toshogu Shrine. (Parking in that area is expensive.) If you reserve here, you can just park and walk easily. Delicious food in the evening served right in your room. In the morning, go to eat at the restaurant. The room is very comfortable, sleep well. Friendly staff

The whole experience at this ryokan was magical. Our room with the private onsen was so comfortable and we were lucky enough to get snow on our final morning. A quiet little town, the waitresses were exceptionally kind. The hot springs were very comfortable; I booked two private baths, and everything was perfect except the water was a bit cold. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent. The explanations were very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
It was a nice inn with a Showa-era feel to it. However, there were a lot of stairs, and it was painful to see elderly people struggling with the stairs and the bath. The bridge leading from the main building to the annex where we had dinner was dark and scary, like a survival zone. Enjoy this Traditional style onsen hotel. Good service although it is quite a bit of long 3.5 hour drive from Tokyo airport.
Really great place. Even though we had to rent a car just to get to the Hotel, we thing it worth it for 1 night. The place is very charming, you can feel you are staying in a place with a lot of history. But the best part was the service, the guy who attended us during reception, show us the room and explained the dinner was just fantastic. Thank you very much for making us feel welcome!
Absolutely gorgeous place! The diner was nothing like I've experienced before, I'm a picky eater and needed trying and enjoying all the food served, it was amazing. We stayed here on 7 Nov for one night after travelling from Tokyo and spending the day walking around the amazing temples in the area. I didn't feel any inconvenience because I was picked up from Nikko station. We stayed at the Classic Hall and were impressed by the jacuzzi bath, massage chairs and bath TV. The food was well seasoned and all were delicious, and it was a really satisfying hotel.
It is a luxury pension. Just watching from the road, but it seems like you can spend a blissful time ❗ It's a pension 🎵 Maybe 🙌 I was on TV the other day 🎵 It's pretty amazing 🙌
I used a flat type room. I relaxed with the feeling of being a completely private space. The room bath was nice, but the hot springs for rent were also the best. This is a traditional Japanese inn—very clean, with diligent and responsible staff, and incredibly generous meals. The only minor downsides are that coffee service in the morning starts a bit late, and the building itself is somewhat dated.
The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay and made every effort to accommodate our needs. We really enjoyed the food, it was excellent as were all the catering staff.
Great stay at this traditional Japanese hotel! Property is older but clean and kept in good condition. Staff is excellent. They go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of during your stay such as booking your shuttle each morning for drop off / pick-up from town, breakfast and dinner times. Meals are traditional Japanese
The location is about a 10-minute drive from the station, and a shuttle service is available. The hot spring water is of good quality; however, due to the limited number of rooms, the number of people bathing in the hot spring is usually only in the single digits. The food is plentiful, and the service is attentive. If I visit Nikko again, I would stay here again.
