I booked this room at short notice at my wife's request. We wanted to go to the Kamakura Festival at Yunishigawa Onsen, but it overlapped with mealtime, so we watched the festival in the daytime and then headed back to the hotel. The Ichiryukakaku Main Building is just so luxurious. When my wife and I were younger, the Ichiryukakaku Main Building was synonymous with the highest quality hotels. I headed...
My only complaint is that the coffee maker fills the cup to the brim and I can't add milk.
Cleanliness: Japanese hygiene is reliable. Environment: Very nice. Service: First-class. Amenities: All the necessary amenities. Dinner and breakfast are buffets, as are drinks and alcohol, which I found delicious. The hot springs are also good.
While travelers from English-speaking countries often head to places like Atami or Hakone, I highly recommend staying at Ichiryukaku Honkan in Kawaji Onsen at least once. It offers high-quality hot springs at a fraction of the price compared to Atami or Hakone. Though simple, there's a welcome drink service. Reservations can be difficult to secure as availability is first-come, first-served, but guests...
There is an outdoor onsen, delicious dinner, and free parking.
The location of the hotel is just next to the river. The balcony had a very good river view. Front desk staff is very helpful and good manner. This hotel is a little bit historical buildings but everything is ok and clean. There're many extra facilities, such as karaoke rooms, table tennis and children's play room. The restaurant area is very big enough for more than 100 people. Various choice of foods...

Need to have a car to get to this place. Room is good size. Water pressure is weak so be aware.
The owner was very kind! The room was spacious and the bath was private! You can choose your bath, but please note that it is first come, first served until 11pm.
No word can describe the joy of staying here. The owner was lovely and the room is super spacious.
The hotel locates nearby Nikko, the world herritage area, just 4 km. from the hotel. Our room is very big, clean, and good maintained. There are 5-6 private onsen rooms, available and enough for guests. The hotel owner gave us warm welcome and services with very reasonable price. Recommend for the one who wants to stay and travel in Nikko!!
Run by a friendly couple. They even provide transportation to Nikko Station. The white wine and food were delicious. Thank you very much.
Really really great place. Don't be fooled by the lack of photos. The place is nice and homely. They have private onsen as well. And the HOST is WONDERFUL. He is so nice and so friendly. He made us feel so welcome even though we were only staying a day. Loved this stay

We had the pleasure of staying at Nanaeyae for Christmas Eve. The service we received was impeccable - we felt at ease at all times and were treated as valued customers. The room was absolutely stunning, with a private onsun, stunning view of the landscape and comfortable bed. The dinner was absolutely delicious dinner and we felt so full afterwards. The public bath was also really comfortable with...
We enjoyed our stay at Nanaeyae during autumn. The staff were wonderful throughout and served us delicious meals. We also particularly enjoyed the onsen bath which was well-maintained and invigorating.
Nanaeyae went above and beyond my expectations, from the food, to the room and especially the hospitality from everyone we met there. I highly recommend ordering their in-house sake with the kaiseki dinner - it was absolutely delicious. Very thankful for the amazing stay.
Not so worth the price..view from room was good, location was good, but food not worth for what i paid for, dinner and breakfast served a bit normal, taste normal, when breakfast time i ask for a pack of seaweed(only 2 packs on table), the staff was very loud and replied me 'No No No'! Like I'm requesting addditional main dishes from them, I''m a bit shock this is just a small thing and didn't worth...
Overall good. Quite a number of non-Japanese receptionists and servers.
We had a lovely stay, experiencing aspects of Japanese culture - such as the food, Japanese room and the beautiful onsen. It was further away from the Nikko World Heritage Site than we realised when booking. However, we rather enjoyed the picturesque train ride there each day. The staff were very courteous and we were given gifts on our departure.

It's a little far from the station, but there's a bus so it's not too much of a problem! The food was delicious and I was very happy ♪
I had a comfortable stay! I was happy to be able to purchase souvenirs at a low price!
A standard Japanese hot spring hotel
I went to Nikko for a trip and stayed at the Kinugawa Onsen Hotel the night before. It included one dinner and one breakfast, and there was also a natural hot spring ♨️ to use. I took a bus from Kinugawa Onsen Station for 300 yen directly to the main entrance of the hotel. The front desk service was warm, and the dinner and breakfast were also very rich!
Breakfast and dinner are very rich. The staff are very friendly. Remember to book a bus at the hotel.
The name of the hotel is Huaqianxiang, and you need to search for this name on Google Maps. We booked two different suites, both with balconies (equipment platforms), and the river views are good. Hotel is in a quiet and scenic location. Good hot spring bath. Nice gift shop. Clean modern Japanese-style room.
A fantastic experience! We traveled with our elders and two-year-old, and it seemed perfect for a family trip. The food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast, and the staff was excellent! Most importantly, the hotel was very clean and tidy! Highly recommended!
A rather unique hot spring hotel. The room I booked was a Japanese-style room (washitsu), purely tatami room, and there's no bathroom inside – please be aware of this. To bathe, you need to go to a separate, traditional Japanese hot spring bath, separated by gender, where you must be naked and thoroughly washed before entering. Opinions on the experience vary, but the Japanese seem to enjoy it, haha...
The location is great. Lake Yu is absolutely beautiful.
The service and facilities were excellent. The snow on the road in front of the hotel was cleared promptly. The price/performance ratio was very high and I would definitely choose this hotel again.
The hotel is located at the end of Lake Yunoko. The environment is quiet and beautiful, suitable for self-driving. The rooms are neat and clean, there is free parking, breakfast and dinner are rich and delicious, and there are hot springs of both indoor and outdoor sizes. The service was great, but the room had a very strong paint smell. The facilities were quite old. Personally, I think it's really bad for people's health to rent out a room with such a strong paint odor. Breakfast was decent, and the hot spring was pretty average but still nice.
I don’t understand why someone would leave a negative review due to their own negligence. Trip.com clearly mentioned the additional 300-yen tax (I assume this is the onsen tax) per person, yet they still claimed they were “scammed.” My overall experience at Hotel Euro City was wonderful. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the shuttle bus service was amazing. If you want to get to the hotel...
Hotel design is dated. Feels like an old mansion.  Location is walkable from Tobu Nikko station, around 20-25 minutes. Cannot recommend to do this at night. They do have a shuttle bus that runs 3 times a day from/to Tobu Nikko station. Good alternative is a taxi, which costs around 800-900 yen. The private onsen at your own balcony is a plus. I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I will stay here again if I visit Nikko
Location is abit off the main road and you need a car if you want to go sightseeing around Nikko area. Hotel staff was polite and the service was immaculate. The rooms were clean and amenities was of high quality. Food was delicious and the public bath was clean and good. Highly recommended for couples or for people who want to chill and do nothing.
10/10 satisfaction, because my wife was very satisfied. The hotel isn't large, but the design is thoughtful and meticulous. I especially appreciated the private bath (¥2000/hour) and the inner garden view. The two meals included with the stay were excellent; the sashimi was served in an ice basin, a thoughtful touch.
Service is perfect and took care of everything well. Location wise not so convenient and better for self driving, otherwise cannot go anywhere nearby. One point should improve is the check out time is 10:30AM, which is way earlier than most hotel and may cause some inconvenience for some travelers.
This small, beautiful hotel is tastefully decorated with Japanese art and objects. We chose Western-style beds.  The room was spacious and airy. Sandals are provided for walking in the hallways; no shoes or sandals on the room’s traditional mats.  Breakfast and dinner are high cuisine, artfully presented in private dining rooms. The set dinner menu is 7 courses and way too much food, even with small...
Excellent staff, location and facilities. We enjoyed the food and the private hot tub on our balcony. All of the staff were very friendly, and went above and beyond with any request. Great location near the station, fantastic views of the river, and great amenities inside like a basic gym, some instruments, and onsen.

Clean and tidy, with unique decor throughout, and a great view from the window.

The room was clean and the bathroom and toilet were separate (the bath was open-air and the shower was also outside). It was a comfortable stay.
As mentioned in other reviews, both breakfast and dinner were a bit underwhelming. For dinner, I ordered the 100% beef hamburger and Mexican salad. The salad was delicious, and the burger was wonderfully meaty. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, ham and sausage, salad, and yogurt. The sesame bread was delicious. However, the coffee was lukewarm and undrinkable. The public bath felt quite small...
The hotel is located mid-mountain, away from the city center. There are public buses from Nikko Station to Kirifuri Plateau, but they run infrequently. When we arrived, pushing our luggage, we didn't consider other options; a taxi would have been the most time-efficient option, costing 800 yen. The hotel staff were polite and smiling. Since it was only 12:30 PM, they checked us in and stored our luggage...
The hotel is quite old and difficult to get to. The only convenience is that there is a free shuttle bus from the hotel, Classic. The outdoor bathtub is quite well made. The room is spacious, but the bathroom has a strong smell. The room has a musty smell like dust. There is a restaurant next door that opens until late at night. Yutorelo Nikko, nestled by Lake Chuzenji in Okunikko, is a lakeside inn with hot springs. The rooms are spacious and clean, offering excellent value for money.
The room ambiance is great, and the lake view is beautiful. Breakfast and dinner are also quite good, not just for show. The service attitude is excellent. However, the hot spring water hasn't been particularly hot these past two days, though it definitely has that authentic natural hot spring smell. The hotel's location is okay, but it lacks amenities. It's convenient for hiking, but not for visiting other attractions. After 6 PM, the entire street is deserted with no shops open. There are absolutely no convenience stores. Even the regular bus is quite expensive. One time, I missed the last bus and had to take a taxi from the city back to the hotel, which cost a whopping 8600 yen. Very expensive
The BEST hostel I ever stayed in! If you are staying in Lake Chuzenji in Nikko you got to stay here. It is a hostel within a hotel so it is very clean, safe and very big. This was an interesting stay I was very obviously here in the absolute off season. The hotel is run in an interesting mix of can be cheap and can be high class. I stayed at Ichifuji for one night, during late March of 2025. I was looking for a local ryokan, one with an onsen.
