Where to stay in Nikko

This is a traditional Japanese inn—very clean, with diligent and responsible staff, and incredibly generous meals. The only minor downsides are that coffee service in the morning starts a bit late, and the building itself is somewhat dated.

The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay and made every effort to accommodate our needs. We really enjoyed the food, it was excellent as were all the catering staff.

Great stay at this traditional Japanese hotel! Property is older but clean and kept in good condition. Staff is excellent. They go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of during your stay such as booking your shuttle each morning for drop off / pick-up from town, breakfast and dinner times. The location is about a 10-minute drive from the station, and a shuttle service is available. The hot spring water is of good quality; however, due to the limited number of rooms, the number of people bathing in the hot spring is usually only in the single digits. It's quite a distance by train from Tokyo, taking about 3.5 hours. The hotel offers a shuttle service from the station.
