The hotel and parking lot being separate was a bit inconvenient.
Great location, delicious dinner
The location is very close to JR Kinosaki Onsen Station, about a 10-minute walk. The hotel dinner was good and great value for money. The hotel also has an onsen (hot spring) area, which was fantastic and incredibly relaxing because it wasn't crowded.
Beautiful place, the room was great and clean. Convinent location. Everything was pleasant during the stay.
The location is convenient, with parking available, though not directly near the hotel. It's very close to the main street. The hotel is a bit dated, but it offers a unique perspective on the Japanese-style atmosphere. The hotel employs many Nepalese domestic workers, which facilitates English communication, but this also diminishes the Japanese atmosphere. The food is just okay.
Perfect place with perfect meals and service!

The hotel was very clean, the service was attentive, the food was delicious, and the value for money was extremely high.
Great ryokan, the staff are incredibly kind. They will take good care of you. They have a private onsen, which is a plus. The rooms are large, clean, and traditional. You can still have a Western-style bed if you prefer. Very well located, very close to the train station so you can quickly drop off your luggage. They provide a yukata, geta, and an unlimited pass so you can enjoy the onsen as much as...
Fabulous and beautiful hotel Hotel Onsen is great and staff were wonderful making it a perfect stay. The food in the evening was so well prepared and included all of the regional specialities with crab and oysters. Fun to walk the streets and enjoy the public Onsens for a true Japanese’s experience. We were so lucky to also be there for Autumn festival !
Rooms were very traditional BUT with private toilets and Western mattresses, the latter of which I especially appreciated as I can't sleep well on futon. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating and I recommend having the breakfast included. They feed you well and it's a unique experience if you're not used to traditional Japanese breakfasts.
We had a wonderful stay. Our room was an authentic stay. They provided great customer service, clothing was fun to wear and private onsen was a plus. I will return again and recommend to friends.
Very welcoming staff, they put in a lot of effort and little special touches to make our stay memorable. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located a short distance from Kinosaki Main Street; however, a complimentary shuttle bus provides convenient transport to the local hot springs (a coupon would be offered to try the local hot springs in free of charge). The Main Street is approximately a 10-minute walk away. The property features excellent public onsen facilities and is new and well maintained. Service is exemplary...
The hotel is far from the center of the city. You have to take the hotel bus to city.. The check out time is too early. Breakfast and dinner are too ordinary.
Shinzan is wonderful traditional Japanese Ryokan in Kinnosaki Onsen. I stayed two times there and I would always come back. I had wonderful stay and unforgettable memories. The level of this Ryokan is outstanding, despite its lil bit outside the main area. Shinzan offers in house Onsen, which are really comfortable. The rooms are big and bed comfortable. If you book with breakfast and diner, you will...
We had a fantastic stay at Shinzan. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The onsen is stunning. The staff were extremely kind and helpful right from check in. I will also add that there was a huge snowstorm on our final day. Our train was cancelled and the staff arranged for a bus to take us to a town not affected by the storm. They truly went above and beyond. Highly recommend!
I stayed in the kinosaki onsen town for total of 4 days, and only spent 1 night here. I paid $515 USD for two people, so it was rather expensive and although it’s a great one time experience, I don’t think it was so spectacular that I’d pay that price again to repeat. If you’re looking for an onsen town experience, I think you can stay at a cheap guest house and rent yukata from one of the shops and...
Amazing place! Great food and big breakfast! Be sure to check out the outdoor onsen that is upstairs and outside! It's extremely beautiful and peaceful. We almost missed it because it was through a very unassuming looking door. They change the onsens every day at midday so you'll be able to check out both Onsen (only one has that outdoor upstairs onsen thats beautiful but both have an outside onsen...

The building and facilities are old. The food is so-so. As for the service, it's a shame that there isn't an electric kettle in the room. Overall, it was a traditional hot spring inn.
Great services, location, and meals
The location is right in the middle of a tourist area facing the river, making it perfect for visiting public baths. The building is old, but when I entered the clean and well-maintained entrance, I felt the hospitality of the landlady. Free covered parking is available a short distance from the hotel. Fantastic stay in the center of Kinosaki Onsen! It's very conveniently located between all of the onsens and only a short walk from the train station. The food served was incredible, rooms were very clean, and had a traditional Japanese feel. To top it all off, an Onsen pass was included. The owner is incredibly friendly and your enjoyment is their top priority. Highly recommend for an overnight stay...
We had a wonderful stay at this family-owned ryokan. The owner and staff were so kind, and we loved the chance to try the kotatsu and onsen. A full vegan menu was provided for us for dinner and breakfast, which was beautifully presented, filling and delicious. We booked through Visit Kinosaki tourism site to arrange this vegan option and were so glad to be catered for. This is the first time in four...
The service was incredibly lovely—friendly, warm, and genuinely caring. They took such great care of us and were always ready to help with everything. The location is perfect, making it so easy to walk to each hot spring and nearby restaurants. The room itself was charming and cozy. I honestly wished I could pause time and never have to leave. Another highlight was the private onsen, which was absolutely...
Morizuya was more than just sleeping accommodations, it was an entire experience. From the moment we entered they welcomed us and immersed us in their culture. I stayed at Morizuya with my young family. The proprietor, Hachi, greeted us at the door as we arrived and ensured that we had photos. He was kind and engaging, and all of the staff at Morizuya ensured that our stay at the Ryokan was nothing short of spectacular. The staff are nice, however, after entering the room it’s quite terrible due to smelly and very humid. Besides, you can’t find the outlet plug for your electric devices. There are many spots needed to be improved, because all the food for breakfast everyday is the same. There is not much choices and only very few vegetables. The food quality is just fair. If any other hotel choices I definitely...
Convenient stay at Blue Ridge Hotel, front desk staff hospitality is one of the best I’ve received despite the language barrier. Amenities are slim but what they do have is top notch. Shuttles are available to/from the ski resorts and nearest JR station, and are synced to opening/closing/arrivals/departures. Onsen is a great plus in winter trips, and the outdoor bath is a beautiful snow filled forest...
Friendly staffs and welcoming smiles. Can take “Bus to Kannabe” to stop around here. The resort has the nostalgic feel with imported Europe furniture. Rooms were larger compared with modern hotels. Soft comfy beds. Separate bathrooms and large mirror. Should include breakfast and dinner if visiting here as there’s limited restaurant(one🥹) nearby. There’s free service for Bicycles use and sports. Closest...
A quiet hotel in the forest It feels old, but the rooms are spacious and I really like the country feel. The hot spring is good, and the open-air bath where you can enjoy the starry sky is also nice. However, the only way to go down from the second floor to the first floor is by stairs, which are quite steep, so it may not be convenient for the elderly. The food is buffet style for both dinner and...
Spacious room. Several vending machines around the hotel. Ski and snowboard gear rental and transport to the ski trail. A real nice hotel if you are planning on going skiing and or snowboarding. However checking first if the ski area open is highly recommended. When I went there, there was only one ski area that was opened, that was even a man-made snow.
Nice and spacious. The hotel is surrounded by nature. The environment is quite and peaceful yet you can find what you need in the vicinity of the Hotel!

The facility and Trip.com were very accommodating when we changed our schedule. We were given a welcome drink, and we were able to take it back to our room. My mother was also very satisfied with the food, and it was a very satisfying trip. Thank you very much.
I stayed in a twin room on the third floor facing the ocean on October 8th. The room was spacious enough, and the two high-back chairs were very comfortable. It was my first time to experience a table that doubled as an air purifier. To get to the hot spring bath on the first floor, you take the elevator dedicated to the hot spring. Meals were served in the restaurant on the first floor. Dinner was...
The facilities are nice, but as expected, they are typical of a vacation village, and there's no sense of luxury. However, the location is excellent, and the ocean can be viewed from the lobby, rooms, and baths, which is very pleasant. Meals are served buffet-style in the dining room, and there's always people walking around, making it difficult to relax and enjoy your meal. The breakfast buffet menu...
Located on a small hill, the view of the coast from our room was spectacular, allowing us to relax and forget our daily fatigue. The view from the large public bath was even more spectacular. While the open-air bath wasn't particularly large, the spaciousness and the view of the coast beyond the trees were truly soothing. Since we stayed in November, when the Matsuba crab season begins, we splurged...
I stay here twice a year, and I get bitten by mites almost every time. The food, location, and service are all good, but it bothers me. This time, I was bitten in over 30 places, including my hands and stomach. (The sheets and duvet covers are well-starched and look clean, though.) I recommend bringing sheets and towels from home. Maybe they haven't dried their futons in the sun since they opened.
I used the "live squid dance" course. First of all, I think that people with bad legs should check in early. The parking lot in front of the building will be full soon, and you will have to use the stairs from the first parking lot. The Japanese-style room is large and it is hard to say that it is beautiful, but the view from the room is very good. In addition to free WiFi, there are cables that can...

A cheap and good quality hotel to stay at kinosaki onsen. I recommend it
A remarkable traditional Japanese Ryokan experience. This is not a large hotel but every detail has been thought of. We stayed in the “double” Japanese/Western room. It worked very well. The Kaiseki dinner was outstanding. Two nights really wasn’t enough. It is quite expensive but you really get what you pay for. This was my favourite hotel in Japan. The three “private” Onsens were also lovely...
convenient location and good communication staff
This is the budget version of the property, away from the main property, but for anyone looking for a no frills stay, this place is exactly it. Relatively modern room and very clean. Size of the room will be a squeeze with large suitcases, will recommend bringing smaller hand carry bags if possible.

Exceeded expectations! This small, exquisite hotel features traditional Japanese-style rooms, and the private onsen is excellent. You can also book a private onsen for exclusive use. The included breakfast and dinner were delicious! We enjoyed Tajima beef every night! The only downside is that the restaurant's service quality could be improved; it doesn't quite match the Michelin-level food.
What a fantastic ryokan! We spent a long time choosing where to stay in Kinosaki – my husband and I both have a lot of large tattoos, so Kinosaki was the perfect onsen village option for us, as all the onsens here are tattoo-friendly, even if you have very large and numerous tattoos. Amazing. A pleasant, neat ryokan, very conveniently located. The dinner and breakfast were outstanding. We stayed in a traditional room and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really enjoyed sleeping on a futon. There's a private onsen, but we didn't get a chance to visit it. We recommend both Kinosaki and this ryokan :)
This was my first experience staying in a Japanese ryokan, and it was truly special. This time, my friends and I rented four rooms, located on the 3rd and 4th floors. This ryokan was the highlight of our Japan trip and such a memorable experience. The location was very close to the train station and within 10-15 minutes walk to the majority of the public onsens. The in-room crab and beef dinner was delicious.

Had a great time staying there. Feels a little bit inconvenient without private shower at first, but turn oublt just fine. Great place to stay as it's right in the centre of the town and pretty easy to walk around.
Location is good. Room is quite new. However, we are located on the 1st floor and directly on 2nd floor is the breakfast dining area. Hence, we were woke up around 5.30am by staff footsteps above, setting up the breakfast. Wall is very thin. We were unwell after eating the dinner sashimi that night. We chose the last dinner slot at 6.30pm. Both had diarrhoea, vomit and fever.

We loved our two-night stay at Tsuchiya Ryokan. It’s a beautifully maintained, spotless ryokan owned and run by a family. Overall, I think it is good value for money and exceeds my expectations...

Very polite and the food was delicious!
It was a wonderful inn, but I will never use Trip.com again. The service was the worst of the worst. Honestly, this is the first time I've come across a travel agency that provided such poor service, and I will not recommend it to friends or other close people either.
Love every bit of it. The river view from room is priceless. Crab kaiseki is superb. Love the service, very courteous.
Best location, best service You won't regret it I slept with the most stars in my life I recommend it
A companion left first, and before the check-out time came, and before the key was handed over to the counter, someone knocked on the door. I was taking a bath in the room at the time. I was a little embarrassed, and I was afraid that the other person would just open the door and come in, so I opened the door while wearing a bath towel. The service staff was frightened and left quickly. After check...
The first day of check-in was fine, but the second morning there was no cleaning, and the drinks in the room refrigerator were not refilled. After calling the service, the room was cleaned, but the drinks in the refrigerator were not refilled, and the trash was not emptied. And it took a long time to wait.

I visited The Kouragi during the snowy season. Nestled amid the silence of the snow, it was a wonderful inn that truly captured the spirit of Japanese winter. Walking through the silvery white scenery, time seemed to pass more slowly, and from the moment I arrived, my heart was filled with a sense of tranquility. The inn's tranquil atmosphere, meticulously appointed, exudes Japanese beauty, making...
I stayed at this inn, located in front of Shibayama Station, for two days and one night at the end of December, where I could enjoy crab dishes to my heart's content. To sum up, I would definitely recommend this inn to crab lovers. On the other hand, it may be a little disappointing for those looking for luxurious rooms and views. Overall, it's perfect for those who value crab. Dinner was a full course...
I chose this inn because I wanted to eat truly delicious crab, even if it was expensive. I booked the monkfish plan with a gold tag and a special room, but the gold tag crabs were not caught on the day, so I was downgraded to second-batch crab. However, the taste and quantity were still more than satisfactory. I later learned that the gold tag crab is only used for boiled crab, while the crab for...
I wish the rooms at least had showers. Other than that, it's perfect. ✨ The crab is absolutely delicious. ❤️ It's by far the freshest in Kasumi. ✨ No matter how much crab sashimi you eat, you never get sick! I've been to a few places, but "Koragi" is definitely the best. ❤️
Plan Name: ★Autumn Website Exclusive★ September 5th - November 5th Ultimate Premium Course featuring Rare Extra-Large Kasumi Crab 🦀 The photo shows a portion for two people 🦀🦀🦀 I'm so, so satisfied! 😋 The artwork by artists displayed throughout the hotel is so cute and relaxing! 🧡 The only downside is that the baths are small compared to the number of rooms, and it's not a hot spring... I recommend...
Employees, including mothers, are also kind. Nothing to say about crabs. I will go next year as well. thank you.
