Fujiyama Inn Conifer in Fujiyoshida

Absolutely terrible, a truly dreadful experience! Fellow travelers, avoid this place at all costs!

1. The hotel is located on a hillside. If you get off at the amusement park station, it's at least a 30-minute walk, or you'll have to take a taxi (which takes a few minutes). Taxis in Japan are expensive. The path to the hotel is all gravel, making it very inconvenient if you have heavy luggage.

2. The front desk staff only speak Japanese and English. The English speaker was an Indian gentleman with a very strong accent, making his English completely incomprehensible. After checking in, the path to the room was still gravel, making it extremely difficult to drag luggage. And if your room is on the second floor, there's no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage up the steep and narrow stairs yourself.

3. Inside the room:
(1) The open-air bath still had bathwater left by the previous guest.
(2) The towels had very obvious stains.
(3) The water from the sink and shower was initially cold. The shower also kept turning cold while showering.
(4) The room was very cold. The air conditioner had a heating function, but the room remained cold. The hotel had a portable heater, but it was broken. We had to call the on-duty staff late at night to get it replaced.

4. When checking out, I couldn't find the key. Yes, they use a physical key for the doors. I told the front desk that the key was lost in the room and they asked me to pay a 5,000 yen fine (approximately 220 RMB). I honestly paid it, but later I wondered why they would fine me so much for a simple key. On top of that, the front desk staff's attitude was exceptionally poor.

In short, after so many days traveling in Japan, this hotel was a truly frustrating and expensive nightmare. Absolutely dreadful.
