The place itself is fine. The people that work here though only wanted us to pay and didn't explain us anything . We were searching everywhere for a shower, didn't know all the restaurants and shops close around 15:00/16:00 and we're not sure if we could use the kitchen etc... so not very friendly. The place is clean, beds are fine. The surrounding is very nice! Recommend is having your own transport if you'd like to explore the area.

As expected of Japanese polite culture but not friendly. Was not warned that towels are provided. Advertised as shared kitchen but not so, although hot water is available.

I went Lake Shikotsuko for the ice festival. I initially searched for hotels with hot spring but found that the prices were too expensive during the ice festival, obviously, it's the peak season. I finally dropped the idea of enjoying hot spring and booked this guesthouse. The price was reasonable. It's tidy and clean. Heater was provided so that I didn't feel cold when sleeping. There's a shared kitchen but I didn't prepare to cook myself. I ordered a light breakfast of only 300yen and it's good enough. Someone might feel the host is not friendly but I believe it's a misunderstanding. The host probably thinks that his English is not good therefore he doesn't speak too much. However, we could still communicate well. The guesthouse also provides diving tours. They go diving even in winter.

Ok budget stay. Nothing special for a good price. We weren't explained some standard things on arrival. But asking staff was easy and they helped us out.
