Sasebo, 2523-1 Hariohigashi-machi 🧭 Map
I have been here several times. It is one of my favorite get away spots. They have hot springs, a great international buffet, lovely rooms with great views. It is very modern and spacious. I also think the staff are fantastic and kind.
Recently renovated throughout. Great views of the Saikaibashi bridge, and the whirlpools below. Good breakfast and dinner. Walk the rose garden and continue with a stroll through the nearby fishing harbor to appreciate the spectacular natural surroundings. I would stay here rather than at the Huis Ten Bosch and take advAntage of their free shuttle.
Highly recommended. It offers good rooms and beds. Shower is nice. Plus they offer a hot spring. The lobby has free beer and other drinks and snacks. I will ho back many times.
Great hotel for families. It has everything you need (small pool, kids corner, buffet, spacious rooms, garden...) I highly recommend it.
Not a hotel, a resort! Absolutely perfect vacation stop. Entertainment in the evenings, amazing chefs and food prepared, and couldn't ask for a better atmosphere and lodging. Not to mention the staff that is always looking out for you. I'll be back many times! Thank you for the perfect stay!
Big hotel located by the bay. we got the big room facing the bay. The view is so beautiful. Big room, Clean. Onsen fee 450 yen, free 3 bottles water and 3 little packs of cracker (local snack) in the room. Free parking. Staffs is very helpful. We need microwave to warm the food they bring one to the room free of charge. They greet you at the door and takes luggage to the room and explains everything...

Good price and reasonable service.
Satisfied!
Reading the other reviews, it seems that they have refurbished the rooms (?)
Central wifi is available with good connection and fast speed. Room is clean with cold aircon (such a necessity during Japan's notorious summer) and good amenities as well.
One thing that bothered me though, during check-in there was a long queue that took me almost an hour. They only had three staffs on the reception desk...
They have smoking and non smoking floors. I was luck to book on the 9th floor which was a non smoking. My experience was amazing. Big room, big bathroom . everything was just perfect. A must visit hotel.
This is an absolutely amazing budget hotel, with all of the bare essentials such as a small refrigerator, tea kettle, some free tea, a wonderful TV, a hair dryer, small toiletries, linen press, and places to hang your wet clothes. Also, the bath is also fantastic, although it may be a bit small for westerners.

The hotel facilities are excellent and the service is great. The location is a bit out of the way, and the shuttle bus schedule is quite limited. Also, the nightly menu rotation is rather uninspired. I'd recommend staying one night, but not multiple days in a row.
Everything is great, onsens are nice, food is delicious and plenty. Staff is very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Room is beautiful.
Our first experience staying at a traditional hotel was a success! The room with its own outdoor hot spring exceeded expectations. Dinner and breakfast were amazing and varied. The staff was polite and friendly.
We were very satisfied with both the room and the service. I highly recommend booking a package that includes both breakfast and dinner to experience the full Japanese service. For families or couples, after checking in, you can use the in-room phone (dial 8) to reserve a 50-minute private family bath session with the front desk. (You might be able to get the key a bit earlier depending on availability...
Great stay. Lovely food and friendly staff. Onsen was also very relaxing
Although there were multiple communications with the hotel regarding dining arrangements due to an issue with the intermediary agent, the overall performance of the hotel was truly delightful. From the station pick-up to the front desk, and from the hot springs to breakfast and dinner, everything was professional and thoughtful. We stayed in the Asahi Garden in the villa building.
First, we were able to check in on a private sofa.
The room was spacious and comfortable for three people.
The view from the room was wonderful, with a panoramic view of the ocean.
We also used the private lounge on the 11th floor.
It was a bit disappointing that they didn't serve alcohol.
We had dinner in the restaurant, which was delicious and...
The place is quiet and elegant, with star-level resort facilities!
It was great! The whole family was very satisfied with the good old-fashioned hospitality.
The service at this hotel is very good and the staff are willing to recommend the hotel facilities to us. There are also several hot springs to choose from, which are definitely worth recommending!
Anyway, the hot spring was great.
The hot spring was quite hot, and it felt great even when it was cold outside.
The room was a Japanese-style room with a relaxing atmosphere, and it was a hotel that gave me a nostalgic feeling.
Hotel New Awaji is so famous that there is no one in Kansai who doesn't know it, and their commercial song is so famous.
My husband went there on a company trip and said it was great, so my mother and I stayed there for a family trip.
The service was particularly bad, especially the person at the reception desk.
After being told to wait, they left me alone, and I waited on the sofa wondering how long...

The breakfast buffet was excellent. We had all-you-can-eat seafood bowls (salmon roe, salmon, tuna, and squid), and the salad was delicious. The room was so spacious it felt unbelievable for a single room.
The top floor had a great view. It's in the annex, so if you want a better stay, you'll have to go to the new building. We were able to check in around 1:40 PM, and the receptionist spoke excellent English.
The dinner was excellent and delicious.

Access: Getting to the hotel from Atami Station involves a lot of uphill climbs and stairs, which can be a bit inconvenient if you're traveling with luggage.
Private Open-Air Bath: There's a fully private open-air bath available for 3,000 yen for 45 minutes. There are two types of rooms, and you can request a different one if you prefer. Since the rooms are side-by-side, the view is the same; only...
Good view, good service and nice staff.
Absolutely loved this hotel! We had a pure ocean-view room on the eighth floor; I imagine the higher up you go, the better the view gets. The breakfast spread was fantastic, with nearly thirty different options, and there's a coffee machine in the lobby. My only minor gripe is that the hot spring pool felt a bit basic. If I ever visit Atami again, I'd definitely stay here.
Fantastic view, good breakfast and spotless room.
Nice hotel with indoor and outdoor onsens. Tatami seating area facing window with seaview. Big makeup area with separate toilet and shower room.

Basically everything was excellent.
The staff were considerate and helpful.
I was impressed by the personalized hospitality.
The only thing that bothers me is the breakfast, which needs improvement.

Good and difficult to book, the food was good and service was good too.
Location is 10mins walk from busy street on a small slope, if not requesting pick up from train station, walking there seems a bit far away.
The atmosphere was quite dark in general, some of the places seems dated but overall a classic onsen hotel and staffs were attentive.

Beautiful garden, good service, but small onsen. Overall, it is nice to try.

Thank you for letting us into our room early despite our early arrival. The hot spring was just right, allowing us to relax. The service and hot spring were both excellent, but I wish the food had been a little more creative. The main dishes (sashimi, pork shabu-shabu), and the deep-fried sea bream head were adequate, but I wish there had been a few more side dishes. Still, everything was delicious
From check-in to dining and even until departure, the service was consistently thoughtful and exceptional, truly reflecting the spirit of Japanese hospitality, something increasingly rare. It was a deeply satisfying and rejuvenating stay.

Room and bathroom were squeaky clean. PJ was very comfy. Breakfast was delicious and good assortment. It’s not too close to the train station but there were free shuttle buses between station to hotel until almost midnight.
Spacious hotel, clean and tidy, love the personal care products you can get at lobby. The lobby closed after midnight, need to page to get in hotel, but the response is immediate, did not cause any problems.
There is a bus to the station and the location is good.
