Naganohara, 1924-172 Kitakaruizawa, Agatsuma District, 377-1412 Naganohara Town, Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefec 🧭 Map
A dog-friendly inn! It has a small dog run. Right next to it is a small hut with a private bath. The bath is self-service; you reserve it by writing your name and desired time slot on the whiteboard in front of the reception. Dogs are allowed in the changing room! The rooms also have unit bathrooms, but the size difference is significant!
The room's TV is an early LCD model with a DVD player, giving...
There was a dog run and the dogs seemed to have a lot of fun.
The cleaning was thorough in every corner, making for a very pleasant stay.
The food was also delicious and very generous in portion size.
I would like to stay here again if I have business in Kita-Karuizawa.
It is a pension where you can stay with your dog. The owner couple are very warm, gentle and welcoming.
Although it is small, there is a dog run, and the dogs are satisfied.
The food is completely homemade and very healthy and delicious. It's not fancy, but it's enough to fill you up. It's a great location to escape the heat in the summer and enjoy skiing in the winter.
I stayed with my pet. The food is delicious and the facilities are beautiful. The service is also attentive. Kirara is also healed.
It is a clean and homey good pension. A delicious meal with plenty of vegetables. Toilet and bath are shared but clean. If it is with a dog, Kita Karuizawa best friend may be.

Kaga, 17 Onsen-dori, Yamashiro Onsen 🧭 Map
This hotel truly deserves its five-star rating. It's excellent. Although it's a bit far from the station, they offer a shuttle service, which is great.
The rooms are clean and the hot spring facilities are varied.
The staff were friendly and helpful, even recommending nearby restaurants.
You can also use the sister hot spring, Ruriko.
I really loved this hotel; unfortunately, I only stayed one night, but it was totally worth it! I'd love to come back again.
The room was clean, but it was a shame there wasn't a dinner-inclusive plan for solo travelers (or maybe I just couldn't find one?). Generally, I think the service is good, but I did notice some of the staff (waitresses?) chatting in the entrance while waiting for guests. I thought it might be better for them to wait in the back-of-house instead.
Traveling solo, I splurged on a Japanese-style room that could probably fit four people. It's an older ryokan, but that didn't really detract from the experience. The only thing was that during the off-season, the in-house restaurant for dinner was closed, so I had to buy food from a convenience store and bring it back.
Regarding the service, the shuttle driver was incredibly diligent and responsible...
This is a traditional Japanese hotel with an excellent location and good service. The public bath is open 24 hours, and the rooms are large and comfortable, though the facilities are a bit dated. Overall, it offers great value for money. The WiFi doesn't reach all rooms, and there's no signal at all on the fourth floor, which needs improvement.

Good: The staff at Haiyokan were very accommodating. Although I used public transportation, the bus stop was conveniently close. There are also two convenience stores nearby. I loved the facial cleanser provided in the hot spring area so much that I bought some.
Bad: The buffet for both breakfast and dinner was at a different hotel across the street, which was inconvenient as we had to go outside...
Although a bit dated, the hotel is well-maintained. It's very quiet with few tourists, and the rooftop hot spring is a nice bonus. Both breakfast and dinner are served at the new building across the street, which was a great experience. It's also very close to the zoo and botanical garden, and getting to JR station by taxi is super convenient.
This was the last lodging on my Hokkaido trip.
I chose a 10-tatami room. It was very spacious and clean, and even with two futons laid out, there was still plenty of room around, making it easy to pack and relax.
The hot spring on the top floor was also spacious, with hot, normal, and lukewarm water options available in the inner bath, and just one normal-temperature bath in the open-air bath.
The...
I really enjoyed this hot spring hotel. On Mondays, it was so crowded that the entire place was practically reserved. It's said that the former shogunate soldier, Hijikata, bathed there. The water is a saline spring. The dinner was rich and delicious, especially the stew. It was perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal while looking out at the sea.
h is very quiet and clean. This time I stayed in a tatami room. The view outside is also good. You can see the sea. There is a hot spring on one side, which should have some therapeutic effect. From inside, you can see the scenery of the surrounding city, so it is not so isolated.
It has a nice onsen, loved it. Entrance is big and it has own big parking area front of the hotel which was very comfortable.

Its a nice hotel with two different style of hotsprings. I like the outdoor hotspring the best.
:) Thankful for the hotel shuttle service as the hotel is located after a really steep slope. Both onsen in hotel and the next building are good and clean.
:( Amenities didn't include facial cleanser and milk lotion. The pillows are too hard for me. The dinner plate arrangement setting appears to be dated - some of the food containers are old/ worn out with visible scratches on the surface. The menu...
This is the first time visited Arima Osen. The experience was great. The location of this hotel is ok. If you go to the Main Street from hotel it takes around 5mins. But the pathway is a bit beveled. Other than that, the onsen in hotel were really good. You can try different kinds of onsen. I enjoyed the public bath! The staff were nice too.
This stay was in a Japanese-style room. The layout was conventional, not very spacious, and a bit dated, but the cleanliness was good. The hotel's two elevators are quite small, leading to long waits during peak hours, which is inefficient. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and noteworthy.
The bathhouse is divided into public and guest-only sections: the public bath on the 2nd-3rd floors doesn...
The hotel has an overall old and dated feel, and many of the facilities are showing signs of age. The bedding was clean, though we did notice one or two small bugs, possibly due to the hotel being close to the forest. The Yukata were also quite worn. The night-shift front desk staff seemed to have some difficulty with English, as we were still directed to the wrong floor for dinner even after confirming...

This is the only hostel I’ve stay in Japan, but this is one of the best I’ve stayed during my international travels. I had a private room on the second floor, convenient to laundry and eating area. Despite being directly under the trains, I found it quiet. Yes, you can hear the trains, but they don’t seem to run all night. I slept great, didn’t even need the ear plugs they provided at check in. Staff...
I've stayed at this hostel twice now, most recently I stayed here for 2 weeks and had an absolutely wonderful time! The people that work in this hostel are absolutely wonderful –always so friendly and welcoming! ☺️
Location: it's honestly amazing! It's so easily reachable from both Haneda and Narita airport because it's close to 2 different stations! I pushed my suitcase all the way to the hostel...
I’ve stayed in many hostels across Tokyo, this by far has been the most enjoyable. Great location and outstanding multi-lingual staff.
The chicken curry is SUPREME! Be sure to order it if it’s on the menu…
Definitely my new go-to hostel whenever I touch down in Tokyo!
I stayed here for almost two weeks and absolutely loved everything about this place and its surroundings. I even pushed my luggage all the way on a flat surface from Oshiage Skytree Station and took the Keisei Sky Access straight to Narita Terminal 1 — super convenient.
The room was wonderful. I stayed in the female dorm and there was enough space for my luggage and personal belongings. I especially...
It is a relatively clean and sanitary hostel. However, there is no toilet or bathroom in the room. You need to use the public one. However, it is separate for men and women. The overall facilities are relatively clean.
The room is close to the road. There are motorcycles on the street at night. It is a bit far from the subway station. It is not very convenient to drag a suitcase. But the price is relatively...
Stayed here for 2 nights after landing into Tokyo. It’s a friendly and clean hostel with great facilities! It’s slightly out of the centre, but easy enough to travel to via the metro and underground! It is under a train line that runs from 5am to 10pm so do expect some shaking and noise!

Highly recommended for solo traveler. The location is convenient and the staffs are helpful and friendly.
Overall the experience is excellent . Only complaint is the shower, sometimes it get really cold and sometimes really hot.
It was such a good thing I choose this place . I am Nepali and the reception lady was also Nepali lol she speak Nepali I was shocked lol she help me a lot and over all I was happy. And that Nepali lady super good hospitality:)
Service was really good.
And, the location was perfect.
Great service here the staff are lovely, happy to help you. Also the location is great so close to the monorail and the bus station. Their is a few things that need a little bit more attention like the broken toilet and a block sink. Also i had problems with the WiFi, it was very slow.
Beds were comfy and friendly staff, great location and price. However, I felt like I was staying in an old people's home with lots of long term stays. Unfortunately, this meant the most amount of snoring I have ever heard, literally every bunk bed in the dorm. Bunk curtains are also no good for blocking light out or privacy. Nice chill out area and great kitchen. And fridges etc.

The service from check-in to check-out was impeccable. The food was absolutely superb.
Although it feels a little old, the food is delicious and uses local ingredients. The staff were friendly and I had a pleasant stay.
The location is excellent, with many places to explore nearby.
The staff were very helpful, and check-in was quick.
The breakfast was very plentiful!
Very nice place!
A one-night stay with two meals – truly delicious food, top score!
The hotel is located right next to the beach in a tranquil environment, within walking distance for a stroll and ocean view. The rooms are Japanese-style, spacious, and the onsen (hot spring) is comfortable. The highlight was dinner – the sheer variety of food was astonishing! The three of us enjoyed ten courses, including a whole plate of Awaji sea bream sashimi (see picture), as well as other Awaji...

The hotel offered a free shuttle bus from Sendai station. The food is fine dinning. The service are excellent. The room is clean and tidy.
A good hotel for consideration
This is a standard, established, large hot spring hotel. The lobby is beautifully decorated, the koi fish are charming, and the rooms are spacious. The hot springs are rather unremarkable, and the semi-buffet dinner was particularly disappointing. I've stayed at many onsen hotels with a stay and two meals option, and this one was quite subpar. The free shuttle bus from Sendai Station was a nice touch
I heard that many years ago, Sakkan had visited Ginsui-so, so I came here because of its reputation. Seeing is believing. The decoration of the lobby is really elegant and Japanese. There is a welcome drink of coffee or tea from 16:00 to 18:00, but I think it is too monotonous. It should be added with a piece of biscuit or fruit. The layout of the room is also very good. It is very comfortable for...
Booked it on my own trip. The room decoration is a little old, but I can understand it. Overall it is still very good. I soaked it three times. The service didn't originally order dinner, but after communication, a buffet was temporarily added. I like the service
Hygiene: Quite clean. Clean and change the water every day
Service: Also very good, the hotel is very large and each room will be given a map before check-in. And clearly mark the time and gender of use of each floor.
Hahahaha…the hotel is really big. It's quite special too.

Wonderful Sake Brewery tour with lunch and sake tasting. Owner of the company gave us the tour. We took a train there from Kyoto and it was a very nice day.
The soup is good. The service is OK. Actually, it all depends on the waiter.
Overall it's good and the free massage chair is very comfortable
Very good hotel, hope to have the opportunity to visit again in the future!

The open-air bath is amazing. The sauna next to the open-air bath is also very comfortable. There is a wide variety of food, including shabu-shabu and crab shabu-shabu, but the portions are just right. I would like to come back next year at the end of the year.
The two bath facilities were really great. The men's and women's baths were switched between morning and evening, so I got up early in the morning and enjoyed all four.
There were also free drinks (but no alcohol), so it was a very satisfying experience.
The yukata were also roomy, so I was able to choose my size based on the length.
I was very satisfied with the food, the presentation, the portion size, and the service.
I also enjoyed the bath area, and it was very quiet and relaxing.
Everyone was polite, from welcoming me to the front desk and seeing me off, and I had a very pleasant stay.
Nice hotel, a bit pricey but staff are friendly.
Nice Hotel, Good Food, Nice Staff. Clean Onsen facilities. Well maintained, but quite dated inside. Only big problem was my room smelled really bad of damp. Abit pricey for what it is, but the staff were nice and the food was good.
The food was delicious and the bathroom in the room was nice.
The inn was lovely and the open-air bath was amazing. However, the website stated that breakfast was buffet style, and although I made a reservation, when I checked with the front desk, I was told that the buffet style had been discontinued since COVID-19. During our recent trip to the Kansai region, I stayed here for five nights with my adult son. It was a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic, with a different menu for dinner each day. Very friendly staff. Very nice rooms. But the food in the hotel is for seafood lovers ONLY. i was so dissapointet that there was not even one vegetarian option. While the staff's English proficiency was commendable, the hotel's much-touted "high-quality innovative cuisine" fell far short of expectations. Coupled with deficiencies in the room facilities, the overall experience was completely unworthy of such a high price. I would not stay here again.

Excellent hotel despite the pricy side. Wonderful service as expected for the Japanese culture!
This hotel is the most expensive one I have stayed in more than 10 times in Japan, but it also has the best service. I experienced the butler service, and I didn't need to carry any bags when I entered the door. The price includes breakfast and dinner, and the breakfast and dinner for two days are different. There are also live cooking. I really felt the multi-sensory shock.

It's very close to Asamushi Station and has a very spacious parking lot. It seems to be the largest ryokan in Asamushi Onsen. The food is average for a Japanese onsen hotel or ryokan, but the onsen itself is subpar. The colorless, odorless, and ordinary onsen seems below average for a Japanese onsen. The ocean views from the hotel and bathing area are stunning, but the open-air bath is too small.

The hotel felt like old school luxury with great hospitality! Please get the dinner option if you are staying here, it’s quite the experience. There’s also a convenient gift shop within the hotel!
This was a very lovely resort! The view from our room was breathtaking!
We called for pick-up from the train station and waited about 10 minutes. The next morning our ride back to the train station was waiting when we arrived in the lobby.

Everything is good and the dining environment is good! There is also the sound of insects in the creek. The bathing environment is also good, but it is a pity that there are few outdoor areas. The indoor bathing environment is quite clean. The room layout is Japanese style, the tatami beds are made efficiently, and the space is quite sufficient. Unfortunately, we did not stay long enough to experience...
The location is relatively remote, suitable for self-driving, and the breakfast is rich
