Kaga, 19-49-1 Yamashiro Onsen 🧭 Map
Quaint place with great amenities close to the main road
The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the station. They also provide luggage storage and a shuttle to Yunokuni no Mori the next day, which is very convenient. The hotel itself is spacious and clean, and the bed in my room was very comfortable. They also offer various free experiences. The only minor downsides were that it's a bit of a walk to Ko-so-yu, and unfortunately, the room type I booked...
My family of seven stayed here at the end of the year.
The facilities were great, so we were able to enjoy ourselves without having to go out after checking in. I'm glad my family was satisfied!
The hotel offers many self-service options, such as hot spring eggs, steamed buns, and snacks.
The hot spring water is all sourced from natural springs, which is very relaxing.
There's a shuttle service from the station, making transportation convenient.
There's a Lawson convenience store nearby.
Overall, it's a good hotel.
Generally speaking, all aspects of the old hotels are online, and there may be more people when there are groups.
I was randomly assigned a corner room on a high floor. The room was spacious enough, and the hotel was generally clean, with well-maintained facilities. The staff was attentive and patient. The public hot springs, both indoors and outdoors, were not crowded, quiet, and comfortable.
The hotel provided complimentary drinks and snacks.
The hotel restaurant does not serve dinner or breakfast unless reserved...

Very customer service oriented & professional. Seaview room is wonderful. Room for improvement is to upgrade power charging points to USB & type C friendly, sell cup noodles in your resort shops
Insane accommodation it absolutely blew my mind. Very value for money considering the astounding facilities and sumptuous dinner and buffet breakfast. Will stay again anytime. Rooms very clean and comfortable
Very good!beautiful view and service!
This resort is definitely overrated! The resort seriously need a major overhaul. The room we stayed was so old & aged, I am pretty sure they have not done any upgrade in the past few decades 👎! My wife and I don’t even feel like spending time in the room at all. Everything in the room need to replace or touch up, I mean literally from the wall, toilet tiles, basin, shower faucet even the mattress…...
Excellent ryokan hotel with excellent service, amenities and food. The outdoor/ indoor public baths (onsens) are one of the biggest and most amazing I have ever seen. Although there are many rooms and guests, the service is unparalleled so you don’t experience long queues anywhere. There is a museum in the hotel compound if you are bored!
A nice and comfortable hotel. The hotel should inform this booking website about dinner option and allow customers to choose between Italian or Japanese cuisine.

The service was good and the food was great!
The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity.
It's a lovely inn with a great atmosphere, and I was very satisfied with both the food and the hot springs. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity.
There's a free shuttle bus service, and the daily complimentary snacks are different each day, including popular items available in the shops. They even gave us foot patches on the last day – a thoughtful touch! Breakfast and dinner are included, and there's a hot spring bath. It's in a great location in the hot spring town, and the service is good. Highly recommended. The only downside is that there...
The staff is very enthusiastic. The garden and the room are well maintained. The room is relatively large, fully equipped, and the breakfast and dinner are very good. Since it is May, which is not the cherry blossom season, it is relatively cheap and worth staying again. There are open-air hot springs, which can be used for a long time.
The kaiseki cuisine is delicious. The boss lady's smile is very comfortable. The room is also very good. The staff is very timely and in place. There will be apple snacks and tea when you check in. The hot spring is also very comfortable. Great!

The hotel felt like old school luxury with great hospitality! Please get the dinner option if you are staying here, it’s quite the experience. There’s also a convenient gift shop within the hotel!
This was a very lovely resort! The view from our room was breathtaking!
We called for pick-up from the train station and waited about 10 minutes. The next morning our ride back to the train station was waiting when we arrived in the lobby.
The beds were prepared at 6pm. Dinner was reservation only, which we did not have. We walked 20 minutes into the little town to a hidden gem Ramen shop that opened...
It was the best birthday trip ever.
Everything is good and the dining environment is good! There is also the sound of insects in the creek. The bathing environment is also good, but it is a pity that there are few outdoor areas. The indoor bathing environment is quite clean. The room layout is Japanese style, the tatami beds are made efficiently, and the space is quite sufficient. Unfortunately, we did not stay long enough to experience...

Close to 黑门市场 but not close enough to the railway station, you still need to walk like more than 10min.
Be aware that the suitcase is not allowed to take into the room, so it’s a little inconvenient to find something. You’d better prepare things you need in advance.
Because more than 10 people live together, the noise of opening door to the toilet at night is annoying.
Its a little bit of a faff to self check in, but once you get that out of the way its all good. The capsule rooms are actually very spacious. It's not convenient to travel to the bottom floor to use the shower, of which theres only two per male and female gender. There is a toilet on all floors i believe. I was on the 3rd floor for women, but everything was clean. There are lockers on the 2st floor...

The room is pretty much comfortable, the AC is soo cold even during summer. It has a small common room for you to eat, drink or even have a chitchat with other travelers.

I had a great experience staying at this hostel! It’s located just a short walk from Namba—one of the most popular districts—and super close to several train stations. Being just two minutes from a lively fish market was a fun bonus! The neighborhood is energetic but feels very safe, even at night.
The hostel itself is clean, well organized, and thoughtfully run. Indoor slippers and pajamas are provided...
I stayed at this hostel for two nights and found the experience enjoyable overall. Here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons:
Pros:
• The self-check-in process is convenient and efficient.
• High-tech features like the toilet and storage locker enhance the experience.
• The sleeping pod is spacious, with a bed larger and more comfortable than the typical hostel bed.
• Conveniently located near the market...

I stayed at the hotel every time
When I was going with my family, my older sister stayed here and said it was okay, so I made a reservation.
When I sleep with the heater on, I turned on the electric pads one by one, so I slept warmly. If you go to winter, you may be surprised because it is cold at first, but if you turn on the heater and electric pads, it is warm

Karatsu, Yobuko-cho, Tono-no-ura, 1953-2 🧭 Map
On the second day of my Kyushu trip on a weekday in late February, I stayed overnight after playing a round at Karatsu Golf Club. I was able to park my rental car next to the carp pond at the entrance.
I checked in without waiting at 4 PM, decided on dinner time, and the landlady escorted me to my room.
I immediately went to the large public bath. She said it was okay to change towels as many times...
My husband and I stayed overnight at a hot spring inn in Yobuko, Karatsu City.
Dinner was served in our room and included the famous Yobuko squid, as well as a selection of fresh Yobuko seafood dishes. Everything was delicious and we were very satisfied. The sweetness and firmness of the squid was particularly exceptional.
The hot spring also had a calming atmosphere, allowing us to relax and soothe...
This hotel's high reviews are certainly understandable. Everything, from pickles to desserts, squid shumai, and more, is homemade by the chef. Everything was absolutely delicious! It's been a while since I've had such a satisfying hotel meal. Lately, I've found hotels where the rooms are clean but the food is disappointing, even though the prices are high, so I was incredibly impressed. I can see why...
It was great. The ocean was close by, and the public bath was nice. I had a luxurious time. However, it would have been nice if the price had been a little more reasonable.
This is a Japanese-style hotel with OK service. The hot spring is very good.
The downside is that we ate dinner in the room, and the smell of roast beef lingered for a long time, which didn't feel good.
Staying in a hot spring hotel with two meals, there is a language barrier, but the waiters are very kind and sincere and keep smiling. The dinner is squid sashimi and tempura, which are very delicious and there are a lot of them. The breakfast is Japanese style, both are very good. eat. Worth recommending.

Highly recommended for solo traveler. The location is convenient and the staffs are helpful and friendly.
Overall the experience is excellent . Only complaint is the shower, sometimes it get really cold and sometimes really hot.
It was such a good thing I choose this place . I am Nepali and the reception lady was also Nepali lol she speak Nepali I was shocked lol she help me a lot and over all I was happy. And that Nepali lady super good hospitality:)
Service was really good.
And, the location was perfect.
Great service here the staff are lovely, happy to help you. Also the location is great so close to the monorail and the bus station. Their is a few things that need a little bit more attention like the broken toilet and a block sink. Also i had problems with the WiFi, it was very slow.
Beds were comfy and friendly staff, great location and price. However, I felt like I was staying in an old people's home with lots of long term stays. Unfortunately, this meant the most amount of snoring I have ever heard, literally every bunk bed in the dorm. Bunk curtains are also no good for blocking light out or privacy. Nice chill out area and great kitchen. And fridges etc.

Shima, 517 Watakano, Isobe-cho 🧭 Map
Celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary, we stayed at Shima Kanko Hotel The Bay Suite the night before and enjoyed some black abalone. On our way to our next accommodation, Auberge Yusura, we, being hot spring lovers, enjoyed the open-air garden bath, "Kazemachi no Yu," at Fukujuso.♨ To get there, you have to take a 3-minute boat ride... I realized that this is where "Haifu," the awful accommodation...
When visiting Ise-san, I used this hot spring inn as it was relatively close. It is located on a small island off the coast of a ria coast, and if you wish to stay overnight, you will enter from the opposite shore by a special boat. The boat ride only takes about 3 minutes, but it's quite atmospheric. Because the hot springs are located along the coast, they are chloride springs with a high salt concentration...
Fresh seafood is delicious. There will be more than you can eat. It has a good flavor overall. The open-air bath on the first floor is popular, but the indoor bath on the sixth floor has fewer customers. The bathtub on the 6th floor hasn't been cleaned enough and is full of mold. Even though it wasn't even the day before a holiday, there were quite a few customers. There are many group tourists, and...
The hotel is on Tokanojima Island. You drive to the dock parking lot and then carry your luggage on the boat. It was raining heavily during check-in, which was inconvenient, but the hotel's hot springs and food quality are good.
It was used by 3 families. The building is not new, but it has a pool and is a good size for families with children. There are two baths. The open-air bath is the best. There is also a raffle for children. There is a beach nearby and you can fish right in front of the property. I think you should bring your own rod and bait. Rental is also possible. Not only fishing during the day, but also enjoying...

The free drinks, including alcohol, in the lobby after hotel check-in were a rare and welcome feature.
However, it was disappointing that the large public bath (Greek Temple) was unusable due to equipment problems on the day of our stay.
We had a pleasant stay at this Onsen hotel. I was expecting that it is dated by the reviews! The building is old and needs repairs here and there. We were satisfied with the food for both dinner and breakfast. It is not top notch and you see that the food is most likely not cooked by Japanese chefs. Our room was a traditional Japanese room. It is just like everything there a bit dated, we slept well...
I was bothered by the sound of the air conditioner
The service at Happy Tower was excellent.
For those who like alcohol, you can enjoy it from check-in through to the meal.
The kids also enjoyed it!
I'd like to visit again!
A hotel from the bubble era, with remnants of company trips in places. The baths are for men and women, and the alcohol and crab are all-you-can-drink.
Although it is a 3-star hotel, it should have good facilities but is a bit shabby.

Very convenient and super friendly staff
Location is great being a 3/4 minute bus ride from Shibuya or 15 minute walk.
Dorm rooms are on the smaller side and clutter from previous customer stays mean it gets a bit messy.

Stayed overnight for a work trip in Shibuya. Smooth check-in. Friendly staff. Very comfortable bed and sheets.
I left for work and came back around 1am. It was really loud chaotic as there seemed to be some party going on on the 1st floor, and there were drunk people on the streets just outside screaming and shouting. Couldn't fall asleep until 3am.
It was probably a one time thing, but management...
Room too small, no space for luggage
Shibuya is like 15 minute walk. Super easy and convenient but be mindful Tōkyō has a lot of steep sidewalks/downhills. The rooms are a bit small but the location and environment that this place has outweighs it. It definitely has a party vibe and people awake at all hours of the night. It was super fun meeting and getting to know people from all around the world. I would recommend and stay here again...

A great hot spring hotel with one night and two meals. The service is great. The Kaiseki dinner and breakfast are delicious and tasty. I definitely recommend it!

Staying on the day of the fireworks festival was a poor value. For over 4,000 yen per night, I was given a room on a lower floor with no view of the fireworks. This hotel truly deserves its five-star rating. It's excellent. Although it's a bit far from the station, they offer a shuttle service, which is great.
The rooms are clean and the hot spring facilities are varied.
The staff were friendly and helpful, even recommending nearby restaurants.
You can also use the sister hot spring, Ruriko.
I really loved this hotel; unfortunately, I only stayed one night, but it was totally worth it! I'd love to come back again.
The room was clean, but it was a shame there wasn't a dinner-inclusive plan for solo travelers (or maybe I just couldn't find one?). Generally, I think the service is good, but I did notice some of the staff (waitresses?) chatting in the entrance while waiting for guests. I thought it might be better for them to wait in the back-of-house instead.
Traveling solo, I splurged on a Japanese-style room that could probably fit four people. It's an older ryokan, but that didn't really detract from the experience. The only thing was that during the off-season, the in-house restaurant for dinner was closed, so I had to buy food from a convenience store and bring it back.
Regarding the service, the shuttle driver was incredibly diligent and responsible...

This hostel is a great choice for travelers looking for an international and friendly atmosphere. The location is perfect— just a few minutes walk to the train station, cozy cafes and izakayas, beach and Aoshima Island. It offers the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.
