The staff were very friendly, the showers were available 24 hours a day, and the amenities were great! I was able to sleep peacefully in the women-only dormitory! There were a lot of foreigners there, so it was a fun atmosphere! I'd definitely like to stay here again!

Check in time of hostel is too short. I arrived the hostel after check in time because my flight was late. I can’t contact the hostel when I arrive. I was glad to be able to stay at a reasonable price while other hotels were extremely expensive during the EXPO. It is very close to the station, but it is not very noticeable, so I got lost.

Conveniently located near JR Teradacho Station, the room was spacious and very comfortable.

Five family members came and used a single room. I was half-hearted, but the location was close to the subway station and the process was easy, so I had a good night's stay. The auxiliary facilities were better than I thought, which was nice.

It's quite awesome to find this kind of B&B. The advantage is laundry. The whole trip is free and all the kitchen facilities are complete. Very close to the subway station and close to the supermarket.

There are a lot of cheap accommodations in the Minami area, but they can be a little scary, but this place is close to Kita, cheap, safe and we had a great stay!

A great experience! The owner was very friendly. It was New Year's Day in Japan when I went, and the owner even gave me a small bag of snacks – a very thoughtful touch. The common area on the first floor is beautiful. I would definitely go again next time. It's great value for money and suitable for university students on a budget. Recommended.

It was clean, comfortable, and great! If I ever return to Osaka, I'd love to stay here again! The unique charm of a guesthouse was also new! I loved it.

I'll be staying for a short while, but luggage storage is available from 9 AM. I checked out at 11 AM the next day. It's a great place to take a break from busy Osaka. I also took a morning stroll along the Han River in Banpo District, and had a great time. It's a quiet, secluded residential area.

I’m with a friend in 2-A floor ichoya room. Very clean and comfortable with this price. Host is very nice. Public area and facilities are very good. The location is awesome just 5-10 mins can arrive shopping area and metro, very convenient. Thanks for the stay and Osaka city. Good memories and experience.

Super guesthouse, ideal location near the metro. Very honest. Small but well equipped and clean. Comfortable beds but you can hear too much from the room next door (too thin partition). Independent entrance but easy contact with quick responses. A great value for money for Osaka, guesthouse regulars will appreciate.

The first minute I walked into U En, a girl checking out said "Have fun; this place is really special." Maybe that mismanaged my expectations, but I found the hostel to be solidly above average. Certainly it has a lot of charm and atmosphere. The restaurant downstairs is delicious (excellent coffee and cheesecake) and the people who work there are just wonderful souls. But "really special?" The hostel is centrally located and easy to get around. Walking distance to Namba station, Dotonburi and Shinsaibashi shopping.

The staff are NOT friendly at all !!! The are like robot working as well, part of the staff do not speak English at all. The biggest advantage of this property is the location.

I had a 4 person room on the ladies floor. The rooms were a bit squashed, but my upper bunk had a small locker, socket and light as well as privacy curtains. Bathroom was clean and showers were not cramped with space to keep your stuff.

Everything good but if you do not have own towel you need to rental and all things was nice in my opinion. And good location you can choose train 2 line between yotsubashi and shinsaibashi.

There are many foreigners, it's a bit far from the subway, and there is no kitchen

We had a private room which was not far away from the hostel itself (half a block walk). The private room was a small apartment with even a small balcony and a kitchenette. We did not use the kitchenette, but on first look, there was not much kitchenware available. Clean, quiet and in a great location.

The Pax was a great place to stay, the location is great and located beside subway and train lines. The atmosphere is very cozy and they even have events like live performances which the guests can attend for free. The banh mi sandwiches are also very good. I can strongly recommend this place if you are staying in Osaka.

The Pax hotel is simply the best hotel/hostel i have ever been in Japan . The staff is so nice, room are quiet and facilities are very clean ( the share kitchen is also a very calm place to eat). I’m so glad I chose to stay at The PAX. With so many options, it can be difficult to decide — but this was the perfect place! It’s in a great location, has an excellent cafe (with the best iced chai), and a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were also so friendly and helpful. It felt like a quintessential hostel experience — I’ll definitely come back next time I visit Osaka!

If you are lucky and have a dorm room to yourself (which may happen quite frequently, because this hostel doesn't seem to get many visitors), then it's better than a hotel, with your own balcony looking out onto Nagai Park and a really nice common bath. No towels, no breakfast/dinner unless you reserve well ahead.

I had stayed at this Youth Hostel back in Jan 2008. I'd have written this review sooner, but haven't had the time to until now. I stayed here for about three or so weeks while in Osaka and have got to say that I adore this hostel, the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and the hostel itself is quaint, comfortable and the area that it's based in is amazing! ^_^ .. I plan to revisit this place...
