The price is relatively cheap, you're right in front of a convenience store, you don't really get amenities but you can buy for cheap... it's more of a party hostel...not a quiet one

This my first hostel experience, and it was a good one. The shared dorm was tiny but fine. Capsule had enough space for my carry on luggage plus backpack and some hangers to help with organization. Hotel staff are awesome from the front desk to the bartender. Great area being in Shinjuku. Would recommend!

The location is very good. Godzilla, the Golden Gai, the Cat and Donki is just 10-15 mins away. The Mario Kart is also 2 blocks away.
The people (guests) are mainly foreigners. The staff and service and their breakfast is very good.

The atmosphere is really nice and quite when you share the common space with others，and lots of activities for socializing.

The hostel is very chaotic and management is v bad. They wanted money for late check out from me to use the shower on the evening of my check out and I’ve never experienced that at any hotel or hostel I’ve stayed at. For the price what you get is fairly basic. They wouldn’t even change towels for free despite me staying there for 5 nights, breakfast is ok. Also not your typical hostel as the management made no effort to allow people to socialise. No activities or events organised. All in all, avoid this.

It was a great experience! I was told that this would be a self-service check-in, but there were staff helping with the check-in process. Process was smooth and quick, and the staff is friendly. The facilities, beddings, towel were very clean. Shared bathroom was also clean with stable hot shower. I feel safe and comfortable during the stay and highly recommend for solo/ budget travellers.

Generally clean hostel. 2xBunkbed women’s room was super small but handy it you don’t want to share with strangers. Communal showers and toilets were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was 10/10; well balanced, healthy, FREE! Don’t recommend their laundry facilities; you will never get your clothes clean/dry. Go to the many laundromats very close by. Good first experience in a hostel. Would come back!

Absolutely loved UNPLAN Shinjuku. Amazing location for a first time visitor and super comfortable stay. Slept like a log each day. Good breakfast, all facilities, heated toilets, super warm room (I visited in winter) and international diverse staff.

The most dirty, and disgusting hostel I ever try. The hospitality is zero.

The only downside is that it's about 1km from Shinjuku Station (though there's a closer metro station, I didn't seem to use it much). Everything else is a plus! It's great value for money, the breakfast isn't skimpy, there are plenty of common areas, the kitchen facilities are sufficient, the social atmosphere is good without being too wild, and you can even watch movies.
