Reviews
Stayed four nights for a family vacation. The room was spacious and room fixtures were all modern and very clean. Hotel staff were extremely polite and helpful. Big shout-out to the chef who went out of his way to accommodate us - I didn't include our 2 year old in our breakfast and dinner plans and the chef whipped up a special meal for her every day.
Location is a little isolated but also didn't really matter since the island is so small that anything is a 20 minute or less taxi ride away. You get a great view instead (see photos).
Would stay again for sure.
[Good Points]
- Staff Hospitality: They provided a cold pack for my child who was feeling unwell, and brought me a towel when I washed my feet at the water fountain outside the facility. Their attentiveness was wonderful.
- Dinner: The food, mainly made with Okinawan ingredients, was delicious. We stayed for three nights, and the menu was different each night, but everything was delicious and satisfying.
We opted for breakfast, which was surprisingly luxurious and highly recommended. I'm sure dinner would be delicious as well. If you're looking for a simple yet beautiful place to stay but can't afford a high-end resort hotel, this hotel will satisfy your needs.
It includes two meals a day, so I don't have to go out at night, but after the third night, the dinner pattern is pretty much the same, and I started wanting to eat something different. After all, the Charasan Kaiseki course doesn't include any meat dishes other than pork.
For island tours, they pick you up at Fusaki across the street, so it's not inconvenient. However, please be aware that the local bus service is infrequent.
The room faces west, so the sunset is beautiful. Even for consecutive nights, towels are changed daily, and cleaning is done every day. There's no washing area for diving equipment, but they lend you a hose from the balcony garden.
At night, you can go to the bar at Fusaki Beach Resort, but be careful as the area about 50 meters in front of the hotel is dark.
I had high expectations based on the positive reviews, but it exceeded my expectations.
Upon entering the room, I was immediately lifted by the spacious design, and the bathroom had a separate shower area and bathtub, just like at home.
The separate toilet was also a great feature.
Welcome drinks included jasmine tea and awamori (Okinawan liquor) until late at night, and there was also regular coffee from Doutor in the room.
The hotel is quiet at night because, in a good way, there's nothing around.
There's a large open space in front of the room's balcony, with two sets of chairs and tables, making it blissful to relax while gazing at the night sky with a beer or juice in hand.
This time, I opted for the dinner-included course (Churasan Kaiseki), which was a full course meal with a menu, featuring plenty of ingredients from Ishigaki Island. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and incredibly delicious.
I was extremely satisfied with the meal.
The two days had completely different menus, and both were delicious. I was so glad I chose this hotel instead of eating at an outside restaurant.
Breakfast also had a variety of options, and I was completely full.
The hotel's basement has a washing machine, a training room, lots of manga, a ping pong table, and karaoke, so you can enjoy yourself indoors even on rainy days.
And not only were the rooms and meals great, but the hotel staff were also incredibly attentive and polite. There wasn't a single thing to complain about, and I was extremely satisfied with the hotel.
My friend was so impressed that she thanked me, asking, "How did you find this place!?", which made me feel very proud (lol).
I intended to write a brief review, but before I knew it, more and more things I wanted to write came to mind, and it turned into a long post... I apologize.
If I have the opportunity to go to Ishigaki Island again, I would definitely like to stay there again!
