1926 Le Soleil Hotel & SPA in Sliema

Lovely hotel! Great sized bed and very clean. There is shampoo and body wash available. Rooftop is amazing with fantastic views of Malta.

We will be back.

It would be even better if there was hair conditioner and lotion available in the room as an amenity.

I stayed at 1926 Le Soleil Hotel & Spa for business reasons. The location is very central in Sliema, with easy access to shops and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was particularly spacious and well-equipped. The only downside was the lack of hangers, so I had to keep my clothes in the suitcase.
Breakfast is good: it offers classic English options alongside a selection of croissants, pastries, and other sweets. A plus is the spa, the gym and the pool. Overall, a solid choice for a central stay in Sliema.

From the very beginning everything was smooth — early check-in was arranged without any issues, which we really appreciated. Communication with the staff was perfect: friendly, responsive, and genuinely welcoming.

The breakfast was super tasty, fresh, and well presented. The facilities are amazing, very well maintained, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel is excellent. Housekeeping deserves special mention for the lovely details — towel origami elephants and flowers, plus small welcome gifts, which made the stay feel extra special.

The rooftop view is absolutely stunning and definitely one of the highlights of the hotel.

Cons / points to improve

We were offered a room upgrade for €5 per day; however, later I noticed that the same room category was cheaper when checking Booking.com for same dates. I still kept my original booking, but price consistency would improve the experience, despite I’m highest level on booking.com

Inside the room, a few practical items were missing: hangers in the wardrobe, knives, and a proper shelf in the bathroom for personal items — these small additions would make a big difference.

Also, since this was our honeymoon 🌙 and we specifically chose the hotel for that reason, the room view was a bit disappointing, as it faced directly into the neighboring building.

Friendly tip for future guests

If you’re planning to stay between January and April (low season), it may be better to book on the spot rather than far in advance — prices can be more attractive.

We stayed at the 1926 Le Soleil Hotel for five days during our stay in Malta. The hotel is very nice and has a great location, just a 5-minute walk from the ferry going to Valletta. Shops, restaurants, and a shopping center are also nearby. The hotel has three swimming pools: an indoor pool, a heated rooftop pool, and an outdoor pool, open only in the summer. Also, it offers to its guests a spa, sauna, steam room & gym. The hotel staff are very friendly, kind, and helpful. We stayed in a family room, which was clean, spacious, with a small balcony, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious and fresh. Furthermore, the hotel does not have its own parking lot. It is very difficult to find a free space near the hotel, especially during the day. The only option is private parking, which costs 7 euros per day.
We loved our stay at the 1926 Le Soleil, I highly recommend this hotel, and would definitely choose it again if I were to return to Malta

Lovely welcome by the concierge with sparkling wine. Great room with sauna and plunge pool in our case and free bottle of wine on arrival. Big comfy bed and small balcony.
We went in November so the beachside facilities were closed but my wife made use of the spa in the basement which was free for one person, one visit.
Hotel is split into two buildings facing each other in a quiet side street. Good location for shops, bars and transport.

Good hotel. Excellent breakfast. Despite the fact that during the pandemic, many hotels offer breakfast in the rooms, here you can eat in the restaurant. Naturally, in compliance with all anti-Covid measures.

Wonderful hotel!

The room was a lot smaller than we thought but it’s okay since we’re not in our room all the time anyway. The service however? Outstanding! Cannot thank the staff enough for the warm welcomes, excellent service and kindness especially to Kristian, Njambe and Marie who we met in the pool and then became our group tour host. All of them greeted us like old friends and gave us tips how to enjoy Malta like a local. We will be definitely be coming back again

Absolutely recommend. The beach club was 2 minutes walk from the hotel and can be used for free if you’re staying at the hotel. We always had available sunbeds, though I would recommend to arrive early. It has access to the sea as well, the pool is reasonable size with sea water. The hotel also has a rooftop pool with fewer sunbeds, free of charge. We stayed in the family room, the bed was very large, could fit 3 people. Bathroom and linens were clean. Breakfast has more than enougj options with quality ingredients. Above all, the staff were lovely and very attentive. Location is great, Valletta can be reached via ferry (ferry in 5 minute walk distance), St. Julian in 20 minutes via taxi.

The rooms are amazing. Especially for Europe. The pool is a beach club. It’s loud and crowded not chill and relaxing like it looks in the photo, which was a big downer for me. They also took my water bottle and I felt like I should be able to bring my water to what I thought was the hotel pool. The spa was a little weird in terms of service. Also, having the website for your code and stuff was a little inconvenient because I kept losing the page and didn’t know what the code was.
