We treated ourselves to a special holiday to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, and it was absolutely fantastic. Upon arrival, we were delighted to find a bottle of chilled wine waiting in our room, along with congratulations cake and red flower petals beautifully arranged around the bathroom and bedroom. A truly romantic and thoughtful touch.
The hotel also provided a complimentary romantic breakfast on the beach for two, which was simply lovely. The rooms were beautiful, the food was exceptional, and the restaurant staff delivered impeccable service. The restaurant manager clearly runs a tight ship, and yet the team always greeted us with a smile, despite working tirelessly.
The pools and beach were stunning, with sunsets that were truly breathtaking. I’d like to give a special mention to one waiter, Rishi, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed throughout the day, whether by the pool or on the beach. He made it extra special for us with his exceptional customer care and is a real credit to the hotel.
We also indulged in a massage at the hotel spa, which was incredibly relaxing and carried out to the highest standard and was a wonderful experience.

The stay at Sofitel L'Imperial was planned as a complete rest and recuperation stay after a month of traveling in Africa.
We booked the Opera Suite as a treat, and we were not disappointed. Amazing view of the ocean with a glorious sunset every evening.
The entire staff were welcoming, professional and helpful at every interaction - Front Desk Staff/Bar and Restaurant Staff/House Keeping/ Grounds Keepers.
The entire facility was very clean with discreet daily maintenance.
We were on the half board program for food. Our only disappointment was with the buffets. We found that no matter what time we went (early or mid) the food looked a little tired. And wasn't quite as flavorful as we would have expected. Just a personal observation.
However, when we went to 2 of the 3 onsite restaurants, we were not disappointed at all. Both the Jacaranda and Chinese restaurants delivered excellent meals.
The Jacaranda put on a special Farewell dinner for us at the request of our tour operator, and it was a beautiful experience. The whole team worked together to make a truly magical evening.

After nearly two years we been there again to celebrate something very special….our stay within the hotel was indeed a special one among very nice and professional people like restaurant manager Mevin and trainee Abhishek whom we really appreciate a lot. I wish Abhishek a very good career within Accor hotel you will learn a lot am sure and keep smiling. A big thanks to Reception team Vikesh Parvesh Ishvari and the lovely lady who did our check in ooops I forgot her name but her smile is unforgettable I would surely recommend the hotel to our near and dears Wish you all a very good continuation with Accor

We truly appreciated the courtesy and friendliness of most of the staff, especially Manisha, who was welcoming and professional throughout our stay.
However, the restaurant experience did not meet expectations for a hotel like Sofitel. It appeared understaffed, which impacted service quality. During our 10-night stay, we only enjoyed dinner on about three occasions (particularly Indian, French, and Mauritian cuisine) due to limited variety. In hindsight, it may have been better to skip the half-board option and dine at nearby restaurants in Flic en Flac, where we found more satisfying options.
Additionally, two waiters in the main restaurant made us feel unwelcome, which was disappointing. The water policy also raised hygiene concerns, as the outdoor dispenser was exposed to environmental elements. Breakfast was generally good, though not always consistent. I highly recommend the croissant and the fruit! They have a very good bakery station.
Overall, while the staff were kind and helpful, better staffing levels and operational management would significantly enhance the guest experience.

I stayed at Sofitel for 5 days. Check‑in was smooth and we were greeted warmly, receiving a beautiful room. Unfortunately, the positive experience ended there.
At the beach, we wanted to order drinks and snacks but were told only drinks were available. Buffet dinner was average, and breakfast over several days was unpleasant most staff (around 80–90%) were unfriendly toward us. As Asian travelers, we felt treated differently, which was very disappointing. At the same time, they thought we are from China which we are NOT!
The pool staff were friendly, but when I tried to charge items to my room, I was told it was under “no post,” meaning no deposit had been given. This was incorrect, as I had already paid a deposit of 25,000 at check‑in. Having worked in hotels myself, I know deposits are always required unless it’s a one‑night stay.
I also visited the gym and asked spa staff about the menu, but again encountered unfriendliness. Overall, the staff seemed unwelcoming and non professional, which left me with a negative impression. For single or non‑couple travelers, I would not recommend Sofitel, as the atmosphere felt unwelcoming and seemed to favor only certain guests.
The main reason I chose this resort was to try something new, but compared to my previous stay at Hilton, where staff were extremely friendly and I never felt any discrimination… this was a disappointing experience.

We had a truly remarkable, all-round experience staying at the Sofitel Imperial. The staff were all exceptional and was the key stand-out for us. Friendly and professional staff greeted us everywhere we went.
The food was very good on our half board option, even though it could've been a little bit better quality - especially the meat.
Overall the resort was very well kept and the facilities were always clean. Even the beach area where the volleyball court was, was cleaned every morning.
The only thing we felt that was lacking was the communication before and during our stay. We weren't informed of dress codes for dinner and some of the events and entertainment that we were going to experience. There was a wonderful local band and dancers that played one night and we missed most of the show as we were sat down for dinner. An easy solution could be using whatsapp as a channel for daily updates and important messages upfront.

We got off to a poor start with some items in the room not working and some advertised features not there. We had to make several phone calls to reception and at one point had four members of staff in the room fixing and sorting things out…. the last thing we wanted after a very long travel day. However, after a good nights sleep and things fixed and in place, we ended up absolutely loving this place. The room had recently been refreshed and was bright, clean and spacious. The bed was super comfy and the bedding soft and luxurious. Excellent shower and separate bath with high-end toiletries. The various housekeeping staff were lovely, especially the guy who restocked the teas and coffees. You’re given a couple of reusable water bottles to start with then you top them up using the filtered water stations dotted around the resort. An excellent feature. The tropical beach and lush grounds are well looked after by the many ground staff and we were treated to some perfect sunsets from our patio where we also enjoyed watching the local wildlife from. The breakfast and evening buffets gave a good variety and there’s always plenty of staff on hand. It’s not the most polished of 5* resorts but more than makes up for it with its feeling of stepping back in time to a more leisurely and relaxed way of life. This was only a short stay but we’re looking forward to having a longer holiday there next summer. Can’t wait!

This is a lovely hotel right on the beach and a short drive from a busy resort. It was under renovation when we were there which meant the hotel was quiet, but this did not reduce the level of service or amenities .two pools, spa services and water activities all amazing. Great music in the evenings , very much enjoyed.
The rooms were roomy and housekeeping was very good, always happy to provide an extra towel etc.
What makes this a great hotel is the staff. From the office staff who helped with our specific special requests, to the dining room staff who are friendly and professional.
The whole team are amazing, nothing too much trouble . Food choices are great each day and help always on hand to explain or even make something else.
Many have been there years which shows in their dedication to the guests in their charge. They are like family after a couple of days !

We had an excellent stay at Sofitel Mauritius L'Impérial Resort & Spa. As a family, we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The staff were polite, attentive, and professional, making us feel truly welcomed. The resort has so much to offer – from relaxing activities for us to family-friendly amenities that even our infant daughter loved.
The breakfast spread was incredible, with plenty of variety and taste. Dining by the sea at their restaurant and bar was another highlight – the food was fresh, delicious, and unforgettable.
The location is fantastic, perfect for swimming in the clear waters and also convenient for exploring nearby attractions like the National Park and other tourist areas.

Great hotel and super friendly staff with excellent service. Very considerate of guests especially families with children. Food was always good and amenities plentiful. Shower pressure and room fixtures / fittings are on point. Honestly can’t fault it , currently undergoing some works but honestly hasn’t impacted the stay at all and have barely heard them if at all.
