Riad Diamant Blanc in Essaouira

POOR FORMALITY AND POOR VALUE FOR MONEY. A few hours before arrival, the owner of the accommodation, Michael, contacted us to tell us that they were going to change our room because the person in our room wanted to stay an extra day. He didn't even ask us if we wanted to change rooms, or if we were okay with the change; he simply imposed it on us in a rude manner. He told us we had to be flexible and that it would only be for one night and that the room he was giving us in exchange was the best in the riad. When we arrived, they assigned us an old, dark, damp, very cold room with no privacy and no glass in the window (according to the owner, the best in the hotel). We honestly felt like he was treating us like fools. A horrible experience. He later tried to fix it, and after much arguing, we managed to reach an agreement, but the experience was terrible. As for the facilities, everything is very old and outdated. The lamps don't work, the Wi-Fi is bad, they never cleaned the room, and we were there for several days... It's very expensive for what it is. For €40, you can find something a thousand times better.
