Reviews
The positives: a nice mountain view, relatively quiet, good location.
Paying almost 3 k PLN for three nights, I'd expect some coffee and snacks (at least peanuts...) in the room. There was no loungers on the balcony, just the cheapest plastic chairs. The fridge was barely working (and would stop working when the room card was taken out of the slot). On arrival the cleaning was not done to a standard one would expect from a higher class room: a pee drop on the toilet seat 🤢, bathtub was not properly cleaned, there were yellow soap/dirt marks on it, that we were able to scrub off with a towel, stains on the curtains, and some undefined dirt on the walls. When we reported it in the reception, they stated there is no personnel to clean the bathtub that day, which I think was a really poor excuse (and we could not use the bathtub for one day of our stay). As a compensation we got our parking fee cancelled, which I think is ridiculous, as guest parking should be free by principle. On the second day of stay, the bottled water that was standing in the room was exchanged to re-used glass bottles filled with tap water...Never seen that before in any hotel and I've been around a bit.
Breakfast okay, but rather mediocre, selection slightly changed each day, but quite similar things. Breakfast could not be taken up and eaten in the room, which is also something I've never seen before. We ate dinner once in the hotel restaurant, also rather mediocre, and the burger was burnt. There are much better restaurants in Karpacz for the same or lower price. Receptionists were not very kind, just down to business (no "thank you for staying with us", "hope you enjoyed the stay"), that's not what we're used to. Pool was rather small and the jacuzzi in the pool area looked quite disgusting and didn't work properly, so we didn't use it. Saunas were nice.
We had a massage at the hotel spa, and that was a highlight of our stay there.
To summarise, it is a place that tries to pretend to be a higher standard hotel (also regarding prices), but in reality it is a mediocre family inn. If the room costed 1k PLN less, then it would have been a standard -appropriate price.
Won't be coming back.
Edit: Can't understand the positive reviews, people must have very low standards. After reading the hotel's responses to negative reviews... The owners - don't keep apologising, just lower the prices, for god's sake, because the prices are inappropriately high relative to the standard you can offer!
And if you are thinking arriving late when it says in their policy that they have 24 hour front desk, keep in mind, that you might wait few hours in the middle of the night for the receptionist to take her nap. Paid quite some money for two nights + additionaly for parking and dogs, and still in the end didn't have a proper rest after our long journey.
Rooms are comfortable and clean with perfect views 😊
Restaurant its really nice, good menu, everyone got choice.. nice terrace 👌
The Spa place also nice and clean, well maintained 👌
The only thing I didn't like was the speed of service.. as we were the only guests at the time.. we had empty glasses on table for 15 minutes 😬
Can't forget to mention the play place for kids 😉 thats just amazing.. ☝👌
Also the receptionist, we were in contact over the emails, to book in first place and then we had to rebook.. she was just great, great communication and so willing. Thanks 🙏
I would definitely recommend this place 😊
The decor and furniture in the room is rather old-fashioned. Nobody cleaned our room or emptied the bins during our stay - even when we asked for it.
All the staff in the hotel was very friendly and helpful, except one of the receptionists who didn't speak ANY English and wasn't very helpful.
Anyway, great holiday:-)
Pool is little to small but that is not big problem for us.
☺
