The building is beautiful but the room makes you think you're getting the full nun experience. Full white, anything but cosy. Amd at night. A continuous running water noise made me feel like the flush was stuck (it wasn't, I checked, it was a pipe somewhere in the wall). Bathroom wasn't cleaned properly on day 2, water wasn't refilled, the staff was polite but not attentive, generally uncaring.

What a find! Excellent location and really cool renovated building. We loved the boutique hotel vibe and enjoyed the courtyard and library in the common spaces. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. Beds are firm but comfortable. Place is super clean. Disagree with complaints in other reviews re noise (tram stops at 11 pm and it’s quiet after that) and small room size (they’re just fine, this is Europe!). Will definitely stay here again.

Hotel Convento do Salvador was a pleasant surprise. Located in the Alfama district, within walking distance of the historic sites, it was light and bright and clean and safe. When traveling to unfamiliar places and especially if people dont speak the native language it can be overwhelming. The staff were.very kind, friendly and helpful. Every part of the hotel was super clean and new. I slept fitfully in my quiet room with balcony doors open for fresh air. Breakfast buffet was simple, fresh and delicious. I would stay again without hesitation.

Simple hotel on the edge of town. Friendly service and helpful front desk. Basic room but clean and comfortable. Decent breakfast in the basement. No pool or gym. 10 minute walk to centre 15 mins to bus station.

Wonderful hotel in the centre of beautiful historic Alfama. Good value for money, nice spacious rooms and efficient staff. Matias on reception was extremely helpful and let me check in early.

Terrible atending. The man who attended my boyfriend and I seems to have something against brazilians. We wanted to order the food of the day and while I went to the loo, the waiter served an entrance and when my boyfriend said we wanted the food of the day he started retiring all the dishes and the menu out of his hands saying there wasn't that order. We could have ordered another plate but he was too rude we left the restaursnt upset and hungry. Don't go there.
