This is an older hotel, but its location is definitely a huge plus. It's super convenient for getting around by bus, and the subway is also very close by. Even catching a taxi from the hotel is a breeze. I found the room to be extremely clean, and housekeeping came to tidy up and refresh everything on the second day. I'm really happy with my stay. The only minor quibble, and this is for very picky guests, might be that the bathtub drains a bit slowly – your feet can get quite submerged if you're not careful!

Hygiene: The toilet and shower both had hair from the previous guest. I had to wipe everything down myself with alcohol swabs.
Service: The front desk had staff who spoke Chinese and they were very enthusiastic.
Environment: There's a bus stop right outside, which makes getting around very convenient. You can catch a bus to Universal Studios, Merlion Park, and Orchard Road.
Food: There's a shopping mall and a food court within walking distance, so dining options are very convenient.

It's a 10-minute walk from the hotel entrance to the subway station and a shopping mall, and there's a bus stop right outside. The front desk offers Chinese-speaking service. It seems many tour groups stay here, and the breakfast restaurant can get a bit crowded.

Hotel was really nice stay and affordable too for the price we paid! Staff was very nice and accommodating even brought our luggage upstairs from the taxi all the way up to the room! Great location to famous tourist spots nearby we were here for 3 days 2 nights and we were able to do everything we wanted in the time we had! Bus stop just outside hotel entrance and took us straight to chinatown too very affordable! Just a shame the shower head didn’t work :( other than that would recommend friends travelling on budget in singapore the room had so much space too which is a plus with lots of luggage! Also cold and hot drinking water in the lobby too which was nice since the weather is really hot and humid.

Excellent value! I've been to Singapore countless times, and I regret not discovering this place sooner. It's a 5-minute walk to Novena MRT station, and there's a bus stop right at the doorstep. Though it's rated 3-star, the facilities and service are definitely 5-star quality, from the bellhops to the restaurant staff. Ctrip's 3-star rating is absolutely an understatement.
The room is very spacious, easily double the size of what I'm used to at Ibis hotels, and it even has a bathtub.
I wanted to extend my stay, but unfortunately, it was fully booked.

The location is at the centre of Singapore, room is clean and satisfied with the service. Housekeeping is good.

Good location with a bus stop in front of the hotel. Near Newton subway and Orchard area within a few bus stops. Hotel is a quite old but still clean. During my stay, I couldn’t use free WiFi in my room at 7th floor but I could use at lobby area normally. I informed the staff but they were unable to fix, the problem was the portal didn’t load. I ordered room service and the price is reasonable at ~s$10. The staffs are nice and friendly.

First time staying at this hotel. Did something digging of the hotel's history and found that the hotel is approximately 57 years old (older than me). Can see that the hotel management still retains some of the old exterior architectural design which I think is good because I able to see the hotel past remnants! Even the staff working with the hotel are aged workers (guessed is a loyal employee?). The location is ideal (near newton food centre) and is situated around in a private housing and many high-rise condos areas. Bear in mind that this is an old hotel and I can see that some of the furniture don't match up to modern cotemporary coloring (used very dark wood colorings). Room is of decent size which is good! The room are generally clean enough (no ants found). The only downside is their breakfast does not carry lots of variety (limited choices), so if you are staying more than 2 days, one will get bored soon (average standard). Room service (room keeping) is slow and had to wait patiently. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay with this hotel! Keep up the good work!

Friendly staff & they do your subway properly.
The only annoying thing are the kids "studying" on the tables there, because of them, the place is always crowded. We know you are not studying kids, you are just pretending... Also, do you know that there is a study room at the mall? You should go there.

It was the worse sandwich I had in my life... It wasn't even real steak. It tasted like meat out of a can. The so called "American Cheese" was actually just processed cheese you by at Fairprice or Cold Storage. Never Ever again will I buy food from Subway. The ingredients are all processed and not fresh. Since when does steak look like beef cubes?

This place is good to go with friends or family. Here food is moderately priced, but items are very few. This place is connected to MRT station and will be heavily crowded. I would prefer to go to this place in the evening time.

Buffet not high quality. Came here twice because it is nearby. The big item seafood are snapped up pretty fast. Either that or the restaurant has designated timing to refill.

They always drag their feet in bringing out the oysters. The staffs seems u satisfied with their employer. All has long face during service.
