Hotel Royal Queens in Singapore

This has to be my first negative review in years; it was just awful. The air conditioning was so loud I couldn't sleep. I asked the hotel to fix it, and they sent someone (from India, I assume, based on the original Chinese slang '三哥') who just symbolically fiddled with it and offered to change rooms. But when I went to the new room, the noise was even worse, if not the same! Ugh, I swear... and the worst part is, this room isn't even refundable! I bought earplugs, and then when I got up to use the restroom at night, there were cockroaches, cockroaches, cockroaches!!! Is this really a four-star hotel??? If the system allowed it, I'd give it 0 stars.

RUN AWAY

If you are considering this hotel: don’t. Just don’t.
This place is old, poorly maintained, unhygienic, and the service is absolutely terrible.

1. Filthy and unhygienic

The suite was dirty everywhere when I arrived: bedding, glasses, sink, toilet, surfaces, nothing was properly cleaned. I even used a spoon and glass, and the next day they were still there, unwashed. This is basic hygiene and they can’t even meet that standard. On top of that, the hotel itself is very old and clearly low quality.

2. Broken and unbearable facilities

The air conditioning barely works and is EXTREMELY noisy which made it very hard to sleep.
The hair dryer stops working after about one minute every time.

3. Horrible service

Staff are slow, unresponsive, unfriendly, and completely useless. They cannot help with anything, even basic requests (like providing tips or even a charger), not even answering the phone properly.
Worst service I’ve seen in a hotel at this price point.

4. Dishonest behavior (thieves)

After checkout, the hotel REFUSED to return several personal items I left in the room. Be extremely careful, this place is not trustworthy.
