Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium by IHG in Singapore

We chose this hotel because it offered a twin bed plus an extra single bed setup, perfect for two adults and one child, and it's conveniently located near the subway station. From the moment we checked in, I was furious. The young man at the front desk, wearing glasses, showed clear impatience and discrimination when I used a translator because my English isn't great! I've traveled to over a dozen countries and never encountered such a front desk experience! Later that night, I scanned a QR code to request a pair of slippers for my child. A young female staff member delivered them to the room without saying a word, practically shoving them into my hand, glaring at me, and then leaving. My 'thank you' received no response either. Is this how service staff should behave? While it's a four-star hotel and I'm not expecting five-star service, I certainly don't expect to pay good money only to be treated poorly! Especially since the New Year's Eve room I booked wasn't cheap; it was more than double the usual price. Can't guests at least be given basic respect? This was truly a terrible experience. I'd recommend everyone choose a hotel closer to City Hall instead; it would be much more convenient. This hotel seriously impacts my impression of Singapore. The facilities are also quite old, and there are many bars and nightclubs downstairs. In the evenings, provocatively dressed women (hostesses) walk around, making it feel a bit unsafe. Finally, the only two stars I'm giving are for the friendly cleaner from Northeast China and the uncle at the entrance who speaks Chinese. Honestly, I didn't even want to give one star.
