EDIT: we have had a response below from the manager. They mention we were trying to be 'upgraded' to a better room. We asked to be moved, not upgraded. Also, I have added more pictures which prove the intent to break into all the ground floor rooms was there, the main receptionist even admitted this was attempted when the hotel was closed. Instead of owning up to it publicly they call me a liar. Avoid at all costs! Dropping to one star only because of your continued rudeness!

Definitely not a 4* standard. 3* at best.
Our room was on the ground floor facing a brick wall. We could not enjoy the sunshine on the "balcony" as it never reached our room. Our room was next to the main door to the building so we had constant noise. To the side there was a car park which was accessible by anyone from the main road. We did ask to be moved but was told by the most unhelpful gentleman at reception that it would be between 25-80€ per night to change rooms. After the first night we noticed that our room had been attempted to break into. In fact all the rooms on the ground floor had been tried to break into. This made us feel extremely unsafe, especially with our 6 year old daughter. Again the most unhelpful gentleman brushed our worries off as silly and said this happened in the winter when hotel was closed. He sent a maintenance man to straighten the damage out - as if this would solve the problem! We barricaded the doors with chairs every night so we would at least hear if anyone tried to come in. Rooms are also very dated and smelly. Ants everywhere!
Sunbeds - very dirty and pool area not kept tidy. Pool is also absolutely freezing! Indoor pool is way too hot!
Food - just ok. Not enough choice and repetitive
Activities - didnt participate in any! Never noticed anything going on!
Staff - apart from the dreadful main guy at reception, staff are friendly and helpful, and seem to be constantly working from dawn till dusk.

All in all, would not return.
