Playa San Cristobal in Almunecar

Perfect beach side accommodation, clean and airy, nothing to fault really. Lovely sunset views, good food. Great owners and friendly staff.
Do note they do not offer breakfast as there plenty of breakfast and brunch places around the hotel. But the dinner was lovely, fresh with great dessert options too.

Visited the restaurant today. The service was okay. Four different meals were ordered, burger, large and enjoyable, Pizza very nice, Pork chop juicy and large, eggs, chips and Serrano was the final one. They were all good less for the chips, all were overcooked. Paella for the tapa was tasty. The service was quick and the staff very polite.

Excellent location. On the seafront corner facing the peñon. Room was upgraded to a family room with double bed. Views out to sea and peñon. Very friendly on arrival. Let us check in early. Basic room but had everything we needed for one night including large tv. No hairdryer or kettle. Decent bathroom with shower over bath. Only had one night here. Pillows very hard. Could manage for one night. Check out - no one was there and safe was closed. Left key in office desk with cleaner. Would return. Good value for price and location.

Unbelievably good experience.The manager/owner.. Eloisa is a rock star.. rooms unbelievably awesome,clean , contemporary,and just downright fricking wicked cool. Huge TV. HUGE BEDS. the staff is 20on a scale of 1 to 10... I'm shocked.. I know this area well, but this is a diamond in the rough. I'm happy

And another win with a late booking. An en-suite room, in a hotel on the penon, 50 metres from the beach - for €32 - one simply can't complain. A normal person definitely wouldn't complain. But this is me - and I feel obligated to mention the cockroach in the bathroom. But it was just the one, and it scampered away whenever I entered. Fortunately I'm not overly squeamish about these things. But some people might be. But otherwise, the room was excellent, large, light, with a small balcony and huge flat screen TV. And a superbly efficient air-con system. This hotel has a good bar and terrace downstairs, and the service is very good. It doesn't do breakfast, but you simply walk next door to the neighbouring hotel terrace (literally next door) for breakfast, where I had very good scrambled eggs, tostada con tomate, coffee and orange juice - for €9. Again, great service. I'd definitely come back here.

Great location and food, the rooms are very basic, but you would expect that in a one star. Overall I'm very happy with my stay there. as it's great value for money. Don't go there if you're expecting the Ritz, but do go there if you don't mind getting what you pay for, basic accommodation, but with the added extras of great location and fabulous good value food in the restaurant.
