Hotel Apartamentos Solimar in Calafell

Clean and comfortable hotel in a great location. Lots of reasonably priced bars and restaurants nearby. Friendly, helpful staff. The pool area is pleasant but very busy during my stay. Bike hire available from reception for 10EUR per hour 👍

My family had a recent experience of this hotel for one night when our flight was canceled and we had a quick arrangement done by the airline. Although the hotel is not too close to the airport, and it was not easy to have an easy ride back to airport next morning- we cannot find warm enough words to express our gratitude to the hotel team- not only they worked quickly to arrange rooms for about 40 to 50 people from that flight, they also took care of the ride back to airport next morning for us. The rooms are modest but clean. We felt taken care by the hotel on that stressful night. Thank you, Hotel Apartamentos Solimar!

Great location, 2 minutes walk to beach. Central location for shops, restaurants and bars. Easy walk to train station. Old hotel but very well kept. Spacious rooms with small kitchenette. No kettle or toaster. 2 ring hob, microwave, fridge. Bring your own ttowel/ wash up supplies. Air con in living area and effective fan in twin bedroom. Comfortable beds. over bath shower even if old fashioned. Some toiletries supplied. Great daily housekeeping, lots of fresh towels. Lots of seating and Comfortable public areas, outdoor and under cover. 2 small pools. One with walk in steps. Never crowded. Adequate sun loungers but not very comfortable. Bar and restaurant on site. Full board available. Can only comment on breakfast which was adequate. Cereals, porridge, nat yoghurt, rolls, bread for toasting, croissants and selection of sweet biscuits and pancakes. Bacon, spiced sausage, fried eggs or Spanish omelette. Cold meats, cheese and tomato. Would have liked a bigger selection of fruit. Wine in bar keep changing brand! No consistency with staff service. Complimentary drink on check-in for some guests was restricted to wine, beer or soft drink, while others were given choice of full bar selection. The guest photo to characature taken at reception was a nice touch.

Came here for the High Rockabilly festival. Hotel very nice and clean, lovely pools with plenty of sunbeds. Staff very helpful. Rooms are nice and spacious, stayed self catering. Small cook stove, no problem. Fridge in room. Plenty of towels. Short walk to the beach and busy shops/restaurants and bars. Downside.... room faced the train station and the noise from the trains all day can be quite annoying. Also either take a travel kettle or you need to ask reception for one if they haven't already all gone. Apart from that, I would definitely recommend.

I had a really nice stay at this hotel. They have two pools, a snack bar and a buffet restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We booked the half board option. The dinner had some tasty options and a wide variety of choice. There were some meat options that didn't taste great and the desserts weren't the best either - hence the 4 star review. Breakfast was nice though. The rooms were clean and it was nice to have a balcony overlooking the pool area. The weekend was hectic with loads of children taking over the pool area, but during the week it was calm and quiet.

Todo el personal, desde los dueños que fueron encantadora y estuvieron muy pendientes de que todo saliera perfecto, hasta limpieza, restaurante y cocina. Mari Carmen, que cuidó de nuestras habitaciones, fue un ángel con mi madre de casi 90 años. Ambiente familiar y trato inmejorable. I always stay at the Solimar for the Hogh Rockabilly festival it’s has a great location central to all amenities and close to the beach but small enough for the personal touch, so you can relax the food buffet is a good selection and very good desert rays each day. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend a stay here and good value for money. I stay half board and in a pool view apartment which are basic and clean with forage cooker ring clean and a daily maid service who are great.
