Reviews
Cons
- Assigned a family room accessible only via multiple stairs, which was not communicated in advance — inconvenient when carrying luggage
- Room key cards deactivate very easily, requiring frequent trips to reception for reactivation
- Room had two doors operated by the same key card; one connected to a shared maintenance exit, raising security concerns. Although there was an internal secondary lock, it could still be overridden by our own key cards
- Hotel was advertised as providing Rituals toiletries (shampoo and conditioner), but these were not available
- Furniture and interiors felt dated; bathroom doorknob was faulty and could not be properly closed or locked
- Hotel entrance is located in a back alley next to rubbish bins, which negatively affects first impressions
- Bathroom design causes water to flow out during showers, leaving the entire bathroom floor wet
Pros
- Large, spacious room with a comfortable sitting area
- Both air conditioning and heating available, with two units that adequately covered the room size
- Central location within walking distance of the cathedral and major attractions
- Bathroom lighting was bright and practical, with additional mirror lighting and a generously sized mirror
Clean and open reception area with some good space to sit/rest/eat. We were served by Roberto who helped us with local areas, things to see and general advice as well as arranging our car collection for us
Hannigan & Sons down the road is a great pub with live music on the weekend. We met plenty of locals and non-locals in there.
ACCESS - due to the one way system it’s a little strange to get to the hotel by car, I’ve attached a rough Map below which is the way we had to go as we missed the initial turn on the One-Way-System
If this happens to you go through the Arc de Elvira and all the way down the back street to a set of Red Bollard gates with an intercom next to it. Buzz the intercom and say the name of the Hotel Anacapri. They will let through through, follow the red route further and take the right on to the main road - right at the traffic lights (there will be a Burger King on your right) and finally now you’re back on the main road of the One-Way-System, take the first right onto the backstreets by the hotel or if you miss it you’ll have to go around this route again, hope this helps!
When you’re parked outside their man will collect it and drop it off at a time you prefer
Thank you Roberto, we really enjoyed our stay
Any review over 3 stars is an exxageration of quality for sure..!! Rooms are extremely small. We spent 3 months traveling Japan and only " thought" we had seen small until we arrived here. If the rooms get any smaller we will be in a closet..!! No space to open luggage. Had to put the suitcases next to the bed. Small closets. Beds are short, my feet stuck over the end.
Beds are foam. Thin sheets. But fortunately a blanket in the closet. As the A/C is right next to the bed and blows directly on top of you.
Rooms are sparse. No amenities at all. You get a water kettle and 2 tea bags. Yes..2 tea bags. No instant coffee, no espresso pods. No bottled water. So if you like coffee you best bring your own. Or go downstairs and pay the 12.00 euros for a very basic buffet..
Walls are thin, lots of hallway noise. Tiny T.V. in a corner. Thin towels.
Soo..this place is in a good location. The front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. Its clean. Just don't get your hopes up for a 4-5 star room because you will be dissapointed. Its a 3 star stay..a place to sleep, take a shower..that's all. And close to many, many restaurants.
Nonetheless, I would say PROS - Great location & water pressure. Lovely friendly US-born lady on reception. Smells great when you walk in and delightful seating area CONS. Room v small almost nowhere to barely open medium suitcase & AC right above bed so felt like cold air blowing on you all the time made for a difficult sleep. Breakfast per most other hotels of this type, really basic and terrible coffee. For a great coffee go to the patisserie on the corner Casa Ysla
No front desk presence. They lock the front door .
And no attendant if you have to travel very early or middle of the night.we lost our flight due to the locked front door entrance of the hotel. The room was not worth the charge per night. I will never come back to this hotel.
