We were more than lucky to come across this gem, with gorgeous grounds and stunning views from all parts of the accommodation.

We stayed in the Tower. The room was generous and comfortable with two sets of French doors that led out onto a wide terrace. Here we were treated to the beauty and charm of Granada and the Sierra Nevada mountains. The location meant we could easily access the Alhambra and the surrounding walks, and make our way down the hill to historic town and its restaurants and cafes.

Alejandro is a wonderful and highly personable host who is generous with his time and knowledge. He and his wonderful staff made sure that our stay was memorable. Thank you to them all for their fabulous hospitality. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved it. From start to finish the whole team could not have been more helpful. The location is perfect for exploring the Alhambra and walking down to the old town (albeit it’s definitely a long up on way back). The room was comfortable and the terrace stunning. Parking is challenging when staying here, but Alejandro did everything could to ensure sorted, which was much appreciated. We’ll defiantly be back next time in beautiful Granada. Highly recommended.

Spectacular. Wonderful small hotel perched high up with excellent views. Alejandro was extremely knowledgeable and helpful regarding giving advice on the area etc. Rooms were clean and spacious with high ceilings that gave it a very open feeling. Bit of a walk down into town but using the option (as there are more than 1) of taking the steps is far easier. Coming back up we always would take the bus and get off at the stop just by the Hotel Alhambra Palace, or a taxi to the Hotel, which is then just a 2 minute downhill stroll to the Hotel Carmen de la Alcubilla.. Gardens are lovely to sit in, very peaceful and the patio area just outside the door off the small dining area where breakfast is served, is a sun trap in the afternoon. We were lucky with the weather during our short 3 night stay as temperatures were in the high twenties. Great time.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carmen de la Alcubilla del Caracol. Alejandro and his helper Robin could not have been more gracious and generous with their time and hospitality. The room was excellent both for the size, comfort and view. For us the location was a plus, offering quick access to the town as well as the Alhambra. Having said that, you MUST be fit enough to climb stairs to stay here or else take taxis both down and up from its location. Otherwise, perfect

Alejandro went to endless trouble to ensure our car and bikes were parked safely. Then we could explore Granada without any worries. Alejandro explained all the important sights and how to use the map. Our accomodation was excellent, with grand views and breathtaking sunsets. A pleasure to sip wine in the garden with nature at her best after a day walking.

Our stay at this hotel for 5 nights was wonderful. The location is near to the Alhambra and within walking distance of the old city (though there are hills). The host is very accommodating and provided good advice. The hotel rooms and common spaces have a rustic feel to them, fitting the location. Our room had a nice view of the city with a terrace. All in all the hotel was very pleasant and relaxing. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at Carmen de la Alcubilla del Caracol. Yes, there are stairs to and from the central part of town, but we viewed the walk as a good way to walk off all the wonderful food we were eating. Besides, the views from the hotel are unbeatable. Alejandro is a super host and the Carmen is a beautiful place to say. He gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities. The breakfast at the hotel is delicious. I would highly recommend staying here!

Lovely boutique hotel just a few minutes walk from the Alhambra Palace (uphill). We really enjoyed our stay here. It has a cosy, relaxed feel to it. The views from the balconies are incredible and sitting outside to eat breakfast and admire the views was a real treat. The bedrooms are clean and well maintained. They have the feel of a family home rather than a hotel, which we liked. Breakfast is the only meal served in the hotel, but there are plenty of very good restaurants nearby. The hotel is a little out of the centre, but it means that you are in a quieter location. It's not a long walk in, but the hills are quite steep, so bring your trainers. Alejandro, the manager, was very welcoming and really knowledgeable about Granada. He made recommendations for places to visit. He also runs the hotel very efficiently. We spent 3 nights here and got to thoroughly explore Granada. I would highly recommend a visit to both this hotel and Granada.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Carmen de la Alcubilla del Caracol during our recent visit to Granada. The Carmen is very beautiful, and has been lovingly cared for. It has seven unique rooms, and a shaded courtyard with fountains and gardens throughout the property. The views of the surrounding Granada hillsides are spectacular.

Alejandro is a thoughtful and gracious host, and part of what makes this Carmen so special. He is a Granada native, and a great source of information about the area. His insights were particularly valuable for our visit to the Alhambra. He gave us a map and annotated it to show us the best way to go in, and how to easily navigate all of Granada. The Carmen is very close to the Alhambra, and a particularly good accommodation for visiting it.

Another member of the team at the Carmen de la Alcubilla del Caracol who helped make our visit so special was Robin, who prepared a great breakfast for us each morning, and also provided excellent suggestions and guidance on the area. Breakfast in the courtyard of the Carmen with that amazing view was a highlight of our vacation in Spain.

I wholeheartedly recommend this Carmen for visitors to Granada. It is worlds apart from the standard corporate hotel options, and a truly memorable experience!

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location.

Alejandro, Robin and the team at the hotel provided a fantastic stay for us during our September visit. The hotel is clean, well maintained and gave us enough space to relax in between exploring.

The location is perfect for getting access to the old town and Alhambra although there are a few steps in between. You'll be given heaps of information about getting around, places to visit and eat at.

Would thoroughly recommend.

Overall, the property is beautiful and the old palace aesthetic fits perfectly within Granada. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, pleasant views, and high-quality, upscale bathrooms.
We found the staff to be very friendly, but seemed stretched a bit thin considering the hotel was very busy and there were large groups that required extra attention.
The breakfast was standard. The bar food was also fine, overpriced as any hotel lobby, though the exceptional view certainly adds value to the experience.
The location of the hotel is excellent if you like walking everywhere or are driving.

This is a 5 star hotel on all aspects other than 3 very important ones.
1: There is no gym or weight room. In my opinion, this is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this size.
2: There is no room designated temperature control, so you are at the mercy of the general hotel’s temperature. We went in December while the outdoor temp was around 10 C, and the indoor temperature was probably around 23 C, definitely a little hot for my taste. We opened the window to cool down the room.
3: Most frustratingly, the WiFi is completely unusable. From the rooms, the speed is not even fast enough to watch a YouTube video without buffering, let alone stream something or try a conference call. This was very frustrating.

Otherwise, this hotel is top notch. The location is excellent and the staff are very pleasant. They should really just work on the above three things, the last one should be very easy to solve.

An Exceptional Stay at a Truly Iconic Hotel
Our stay at this hotel was truly exceptional and unforgettable. The hotel is elegant and beautifully designed in an authentic Andalusian style, which gives it a unique charm and historical atmosphere.
We stayed in a luxurious suite with a very spacious balcony, which added great comfort and enjoyment to our experience. The hotel’s location is excellent, being very close to the Alhambra Palace, making our visit even more special and convenient.
What truly made our stay outstanding was the hotel staff. From the guest service staff at the main entrance, to the receptionist, as well as the lobby café and restaurant staff — everyone was professional, welcoming, and genuinely attentive.
The breakfast was luxurious and varied, reflecting a high standard of hospitality and quality.
My wife and I had planned since our marriage to visit Granada and stay at this prestigious hotel. Finally, we had the joy of celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary in Granada while staying at the magnificent Alhambra Palace Hotel. It was a dream come true and a truly memorable experience.
Highly recommended for anyone seeking elegance, history, and exceptional service.

We stayed two nights at this hotel and had a pleasant experience. The biggest advantage is its location—just a five-minute walk to the Alhambra Palace. The second highlight is the hotel restaurant. I had the best panciotti, prepared just like in an authentic Italian restaurant, and one of the best desserts of my life: the chocolate cake with orange compote, which I will never forget.
The room size was very decent. However, if there’s one small note, it’s that the reception staff didn’t pay much attention to greeting guests when entering or leaving the hotel, so you miss that extra touch of service you usually experience in boutique hotels.

Truly amazing staff, service, rooms, decor snd breakfast. One of our best places we have stayed and it was truly a memorable experience. The location is perfect also. This review is from our family trip to Spain in August 2024. I had contacted the hotel prior to our arrival and they were very kind and prompt on the responses. During our stay the front staff was always generous in offering water. We did not use other services at the hotel but would have definitely considered if we had stayed longer. Truly magnificent five star experience. Our family is already planning our trip. Strongly recommend.
