Hotel Rosa D´Oro in Granada

Am I being punked? Honestly, I booked rooms for 6 people and clearly state that the reservation is for 6 people. I arrive and they tell me that my reservation just covers 4 beds. Of course they can accommodate me for $40 per extra bed. Bigtime scammy!! But I pay it, because I'm foreigner and I'm really tired and just want to lay down. All fixed right? Wrong! This hotel has no heat! 45 degrees Fahrenheit in Granada right now and there is no heat. What in the world is going on here? Really, is this some kind of joke? The property is an old r.i.a.d, which is kind of cool, but scams and no working utilities? Really, your attendants are in the lobby wearing coats.

For this reason, I'm going to have to rate Hotel Rosa D' Oro a 1 star. It is a great location with wonderful views and the staff is very courteous "But" if I'd known that this would be our experience after getting lost in the city, stuck in super thin streets, having to walk almost a mile from a parking garage (because the hotel doesn't have parking), I would have skipped this nightmare. We are not all Donald Trump. Some of us are here for that very reason. Do better.

*I'm updating the review above. Justine salvaged the visit by providing my family with an alternate room and providing space heaters. I'm still highly disappointed with the accommodations. The original room upstairs was too cold for space heaters. They actually clicked off from running too hard to counter the cold. Actually, why were there space heaters if you didn't know about the heating situation?

Bottom line? Avoid this place.

They didn't have heat! We almost froze. Luckily the attendant moved my daughters and wife out of the icebox into another room. That was on top of them scamming me for 80 more Euros for beds that should have already been factored into what I'd already paid. It was a charming riad, in a great location with great views, but it is horribly managed. The do hire very nice attendants, but if I had it to do again, I'd avoid this place.

The two stars are for the desk girl Maya. Friendly and helpful.
And for excellent location.
Too dark. No feint desk at night. No room phones.
Small packages of shampoo & jell. Horrible mattresses & unclean.
