NH Bilbao Deusto in Bilbao

Service: Mercedes and her younger female colleague were attentive and welcoming…providing good service.
Their older male colleague was rude, abrupt and lacked customer service skills - at checkout he didn’t even look up from his screen despite me requesting his attention; instead telling me ‘wait a minute!’.

Room: Not really dog friendly as the room itself reeked of chemical floor cleaner and needed the window open for hours; doors, safe facia and other fixtures and fittings are worn, out-dated and need some actual repair.

Location: very good to walk along estuary to Guggenheim & old town

Breakfast: quite good

Bed: very comfortable

Car park: safe although very tight and awkward.

I stayed at NH Bilbao Deusto early August 25 as it's fairly close to the port of Bilbao 21km. It's a very basic hotel with a small dining area for breakfast with no social areas apart from a small seated area around reception. Rooms and beds are comfortable with TV which has one English channel 'BBC news' , fridge and safe. Usual bathroom facilities with shower over bath. Good carpark in the basement serviced by a lift. I have stayed in a large number of hotels being a seasoned traveller and personally can say this is a budget style hotel with a 4 star price. For 2x nights with breakfast and parking for a motorcycle 364euros. Compared with other hotels this is expensive.

Our stay here has been truly memorable. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We were greeted with a warm welcome and the front desk already had the room ready. The rooms are very modern and clean and the view is great too! Will always be coming back here when possible. Thank you for the great service!
