What an incredible experience. Our waiters Jay and Gavin were absolutely incredible and so informative about every dish. Each dish was so unique using local areas of Spain and inspiration from the chefs childhood as references for the cuisine. I highly recommend it if you want an unforgettable experience. Truly worth its Michelin stars.

Barcelona has quite a few Michelin starred restaurants, and I'm slowly working my way through them. For my friend's birthday, I booked a lunch at aBaC.

I'll be honest, the menu didn't immediately excite me and felt a bit underwhelming at first. That said, the execution completely won me over. Everything tasted far better than expected.

Highlights/Memorable dishes:
The onion, cheese, anchovy, and enzyme dish was deeply savory and full of umami. Their interpretation of onion soup was comforting yet refined, and the flavors worked perfectly together.

The cured sea bream with mollusks, frozen hummus, and spring onion gazpachuelo with cilantro was another highlight. It was almost like a ceviche. The fish was incredibly tender, and I loved the mussels. Great!

The squid with Roman style caviar was another hit! Think squid tartare topped with caviar. Simple and delicious!

Naturally, my friend and I went all out and ordered a bottle of wine each. The service was exceptional, made even better by our attentive and very charming server (Mitsu?). He was funny and entertained our shenanigans lol.

All in, I spent around $700 for two, including the $200 deposit required to secure the reservation. Overall, money well spent and a solid Michelin experience. I would definitely recommend it.

Landed in Barcelona and headed straight to ABaC for my first meal. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and the menu carries a playful, almost childlike creativity. We came mainly for the gigantic carabinero prawns — and they alone are worth the visit. Service and pacing were quite chaotic at the beginning, but things improved significantly afterwards.

Brioche ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A delicious eel burger with a Japanese touch. The hint of wasabi at the end is refreshing.

Squid & Bread ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The squid, pressed into a crisp, is wonderfully aromatic. The brininess of the caviar with the crunchy bread deepens the umami.

Dry Maccheroni ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rich cheese flavour in the sauce, and a thick, sweet-tart tomato gazpacho. The overall acidity is a bit too strong — refreshing, but slightly overwhelming.

Duck Sirloin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The duck has a distinctive aroma, paired with sea grapes that add great layers of umami. The duck-liver bread, however, had a strange aftertaste.

Sea Bream ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bright, refreshing acidity with shellfish umami. The basil oil ties everything together beautifully.

Seeds & Bark ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A dish inspired by natural disasters — very creative idea, slightly on the sweeter side.

Mediterranean Red Shrimp ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tender, sweet, and crisp shrimp with an even richer, more intense flavour in the head.

Carabinero Prawn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An enormous carabinero prawn, almost the length of a forearm. Crisp prawn chips, a broth full of rich prawn-roe aroma, incredibly sweet and snappy flesh, and stone bass adding even more umami. Absolutely delicious.

Fabada ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Smoky meat with creamy beans — comforting but not particularly memorable.

Beef Fricandó ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Silky sauce, tender beef, and crunchy morels. Quite enjoyable as long as you don’t think of it as sukiyaki.

Yogurt ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The ice cream has a unique freshness with citrus notes. The chocolate crisp adds great texture.

La Merienda ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A chocolate dessert with low acidity and a caramel aroma. The sweetness of the ice cream blends perfectly with the chocolate.

Ballon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very creamy but balanced by raspberry sweetness. The strawberry foam is light and airy.

Petit Four ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Playful and fun. The lipstick sorbet is sweet-tart and excellent, and the dark chocolate is wonderfully intense.

Yes wonderful personnel, excellent massage and knowledgeable. The most helpful group of employees committed to hotel and clients. We stayed many days and one of the best experiences.

Amazing culinary journey tonight. Fantastic dish presentation with wonderful taste. Chef Cruz’s knowledge of ingredients is world class. I can’t find words to describe, will definitely pay a visit again. Last but not least, the service is very nice, have to say thanks to Jay and Irene’s excellent service tonight.

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice in 13 years. I have to start by Saying the rooms look the same, which is not a good thing they need updating. The hotel is now showing signs of wear especially in the rooms. The housekeeping, is wonderful!!!! They do an amazing job, keeping it sparkling and they really customize my stay with my requests! . They have a blow dryer from the 1950s that you actually have to hold down to use which is shocking for a five star hotel. now onto the good things the staff is wonderful. They are so kind. I only had one issue with one girl. I don’t know her name she was Young worked in the morning for breakfast. She needs much more training for this five star Industry. She gives me a cappuccino with no sugar or a spoon you don’t put salt and pepper on the table I have to ask . 20 minutes just for water. I dined in the restaurant most things are very good a few so so . He’s a wonderful chef. But I think it’s time to get some new ideas. The spa is nice loved the pool! Great for laps in the am ! The steam room was a little weak definitely not as hot as most. But the front desk staff is really fabulous. The ladies are amazing. I think in order for me to come back there will have to update the rooms. The air conditioning panel fell off a few times during my stay! lol ! The hotel is small enough where it should be easy to maintain.
