I recently stayed at Sercotel Caspe in Barcelona and had a truly excellent experience from start to finish. The hotel is modern, clean, and very well maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel comfortable.
The location is perfect: situated in a quiet and elegant area of Eixample, just a short walk from major attractions like the Sagrada Familia, Passeig de Gràcia, and the Arc de Triomf. It’s also well connected to public transport, making it easy to explore the rest of the city.
The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and well soundproofed, with comfortable beds and all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in the room setup and the overall sense of tranquility after a day around the city.
The staff deserves special mention—professional, friendly, and always ready to help with recommendations, directions, or anything you might need. Their hospitality truly enhances the experience.
Breakfast was fresh and varied, offering both sweet and savoury options, and the common spaces are stylish and pleasant.
Overall, Sercotel Caspe is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Barcelona, whether for leisure or business. I would definitely stay here again.
Although the staff and the location were fine, I would never stay here again or even walk past this hotel. After only one night, I now have to wash all my clothes three times to get rid of the smell.
Extremely disappointing experience. Not recommended.
Breakfast was quite good — I’d rate it a comfortable four stars. It was tasty. Staff members were very polite, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. They explained everything clearly, and we had no issues at any point. All compliments to the team working during our visit.
However, there are several areas where the hotel could improve. Cleanliness, especially in the bathroom, wasn’t quite up to expectations. While the room itself was a could say clean, a bit more attention to detail would make the experience much better.
Another noticeable issue was ventilation. There was only one window in the room, and it couldn’t be opened, which often made the space feel like it lacked fresh air. When entering the room after being away for a few hours, there was a clear, unpleasant “stale air” smell — a stuffy, unventilated scent that immediately stood out. We had to rely on the air conditioning to make the room more comfortable, but natural airflow was definitely missing.
Sound insulation was also quite poor. We could hear almost everything — footsteps, conversations, and general noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms. This had a negative impact on overall comfort, especially during quieter hours.
Apart from these points, everything else was fine. The hotel has solid potential thanks to its great location and friendly staff, but improving cleanliness, ventilation and sound insulation would significantly enhance the overall experience. This is my honest review. Thank you!
For a tourist, the location allows walking distance to most things around Barcelona. The breakfast was okay, nothing special (loved the generous opening hours though).
The room itself was okay, a bit worn out - however the cleaning was horrible. Lots of stuff were dusty on arrival - including the bed frame. The bathroom had dirt and grease in the corners. The day-to-day cleaning seemed not to include cleaning the floors, as they was dusty aswell. Towels were however nice and clean each day.
The AC in the room worked great, keeping a nice and cool temperature in the room. The bed was okay, more to the stiff-side for those who likes that - fantastic pillows.. Although, they had some sort of a protection-sheet under the actual linen which made it incredibly hot (and noisy) to sleep on. The room we slept in also took in a lot of the noise from the rooms around it.
All in all, it's an okay hotel - but I'd argue the room doesn't display it's 4 stars.
