I had a fantastic experience. The location is unbeatable for exploring the authentic side of Barcelona. If you are staying here, you absolutely have to check out the "Barceloneta" audio tour on th App VoiceMap. It starts just a short walk from the hotel and was the absolute highlight of my trip. It's self-guided, so you can go at your own pace, which I loved.

Location is superb. 5 mins walking distance to the Old Town which offers plenty of awesome tapas restaurants, the most tantalising cafes with fabulous spread of pastries and definitely shopping! Need I mention that it’s just next door to a great restaurant 7 Portes.
The hotel room is very clean and spacious with balcony which welcomed the beautiful morning sun. Except for flats pillows and a faulty shower head, we have no complaints.
Most of all, the hotel reception was very helpful. Always available to check on any information needed.
It’s a great place to stay and we will stay here again.

The Hotel Del Mar is a good mid-range hotel located in walking distance from the Metro and close to many restaurants and bars. I chose a single-occupancy double room with a terrace on the 4th floor and stayed for 3 nights in mid January. Check-in was quite straightforward with English speaking staff who provided business like service but no explanation of the facilities either in the hotel or in the locality was offered. The room was clean and quite comfortable and just about big enough for a lone traveller - two people with luggage might feel a bit cramped. There was no desk/table other than where the tv was positioned - if you need to work on a laptop, it's not ideal. Internet,once connected, was good. The bathroom was fine and there was a fridge and hot air heating. A big plus was that the room was very quiet. I was a bit disappointed with the terrace as, although it was quite spacious, it offered no view apart from the back of the nearby buildings opposite. If you get a room on the front of the building, I think the views are better. Breakfast was included and the choice was quite good although the hot food provided was not hot at all. Overall, I would say the hotel is a good choice and was value for money.

I always stay at this hotel when I go to Barcelona. Location is great, rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is great. Nothing to complain about. Will definitely come back.

I was lucky to be allocated a room on the 4th (top) floor with a spacious terraza facing the beautiful view of the port.
The hotel was kind to accept items delivered at the hotel for me.
Great value in January.

Our stay at this hotel in Barcelona was extremely frustrating from start to finish.
The bathroom smelled terrible, and every shower caused the floor to pool with water until the entire bathroom was flooded. This was unsafe and especially stressful since my wife is pregnant.
To make matters worse, the listing claimed the room had air conditioning, but there was none, making the nights uncomfortable and far from what was advertised.
When we brought these issues to the front desk, the receptionist was unprofessional and dismissive. He even suggested that the situation was my fault for “not explaining the problem correctly”, which was both disrespectful and unacceptable.
Instead of offering a room change or any real solution, the hotel sent a maintenance worker directly into our room to “fix” the drain — invading our privacy and still not addressing the larger problem or providing an alternative experience.
The breakfast was also disappointing, with very few options and almost no variety.
Overall, this hotel failed in comfort, honesty, and professionalism. I would not recommend it to anyone — especially families or expecting mothers

I arrived at the hotel at 2 AM after confirming by phone that arriving late and finding the parking would be easy. My mother had already arrived and paid for the parking. However, the night receptionist didn’t know where the parking was and only gave me some printed papers with directions that were confusing. Because of this, I drove around Barcelona for over 30 minutes, exhausted, stressed, and even crying. I stopped at another hotel to ask for directions, but in front of me there was a vandalized car and two men yelling, which made me feel unsafe, so I left the area. Eventually, the receptionist found that the parking was on the opposite side of the road. I only slept from 3 AM to 8 AM, and when we checked out at 10 AM, I explained the situation, but the hotel offered no solution or refund for the €25 parking. Overall, the experience was very stressful, unsafe, and the service was poor.

Good hotel in a great location/area with many stuff to explore. 15mins away from the citudella Park. Hotel is nearby to lots of shops and restaurants. Room is comfortable and clean!
The breakfast was absolutely amazing - so many options and the food was so fresh!
All the staff were so kind but special mention to Fernando (Ferran) who helped us a lot when we needed directions to find attractions or booked taxis for us!
Definitely recommend this hotel and we will return if we ever come back to Barcelona!

Great location with easy access to transport particularly three hop on hop off bus. The hotel will sell you the tickets for this. Not far from the waterfront and heaps of restaurants in close proximity. Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is included and a lot of variety and plentiful. We were on the top floor and had a spacious balcony. The rooms were nice and the bathroom practical.

The location is great, right next to el born and the gothic quarter, as well as the beach. Plenty of restaurants around. The room size is ok, the hotel interior is decorated in a boat style. It may look a bit outdated as there’s quite a lot of wood and the room didn’t have much sunlight.
The breakfast buffet has a great spread and everything was fresh and tasty. It was a pleasant stay.
