The location is perfect to explore Girona old and town.
Room is clean and nothing special. Only complaint i have is that I requested a quiet room away from the lifts, which they did. They gave me a room on the street side instead. The noise level from the street is worst than the lift i think. All night i heard cars, motors revving. The trash collector and what not.

Apart from that it is a pleasant hotel.

Stayed for 3 nights in Hotel Peninsular, staff are fantastic (Andrea @reception brilliant) hotel ideally located for Girona visit... room spot on and really could not fault the place. Beautiful city ❤️

We stayed there only for three nights, but we had a really good time. The room was big and spacious, everything was clean, the hotel is in a great spot where it's easy to stroll around Girona and come back to the hotel without any trouble - everything we wanted to do or see was (at most!) 12-15 minutes away.
The hotel staff was very lovely, accommodating, and friendly, and we easily communicated in English.
My only little complaints are: the Aircon in our room was really loud, so we couldn't leave it on at night, even though it was in the middle of a very hot summer. And the ceiling light in our corridor (between the bedroom and the bathroom) didn't work.

Room is honestly like a prison cell: small, old, outdated, yuck. Its clean and the hotel is well located but thats about it. the room is awful - completely basic. No fridge, no tea and coffee, literally nothing except a bed and tiny window facing a brick wall. Pictures of rooms are misleading, or maybe I just got an unrenovated room? Highly overpriced for the standard of accommodation. This hotel is a total hole - stay anywhere else, its likely to be nicer than this hell hole.

The hotel is very close to the center, but that's about all the positives.
The room was tiny, nothing to do with the photos on the site or on google. The window view was to a plastic sheet which resonated throughout the whole night as rainwater poured on it.
The bathroom is old and smelly.
The receptionist's manners are below acceptable as he shushed me when wanting to share my experience at checkout.
The parking they advertise is actually the public parking, which is at walking distance, but you'd better pay there directly as the hotel price is more expensive than what you pay there.
Overall, I don't recommend it at all as it was one of the few bad experiences I had during my travels.

We stayed one night at this hotel last week.
The room was small and dark.
Very basic facilities.
The bathtub was extremely dirty with ingrained dirt. Appeared to not have been cleaned for weeks.
We were charged 166euros for the night.
I reported the dirty bathtub the next morning but there was no apology.
I would never stay at this overpriced hotel again!

Excellent value (we paid around €80 for a large double room in high summer) An easy walk (less than 10 minutes) from the old town, just across the river, and vast plaza de la Independencia, a 'plaza mayor' surrounded by bustling cafes and bars). Particularly friendly and helpful reception staff. But the main value lies in the bedroom, large by any standards and with a commensurately large bathroom. The decor - lighting, plenty of polished woodwork, a spacious desk - recalls the 1970s, while the large bathroom has the usual equipment, plus bath and - equally and agreeably old style - a bidet.

Staff and hotel are lovely. We had accidentally left some clothes behind in Barcelona (in a bag to be laundered). The hotel staff in Barcelona found the clothes after I contacted them and recommended a courier service. The courier service picked them up, packaged the bag of clothes and got them to Girona and Hotel Peninsular in record time. I had contacted Hotel Peninsular to let them know and the package was waiting for us when we arrived. Our room was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast was good and the location was great for walking. We checked out Roman ruins, walking the walls on the other side of the river and found some good restaurants. We had only 1 night in Girona which we regret was’t longer.

The hotel is very central and almost everything in the old town is in walking distance. The rooms are. functional, clean and over all the basics you need. Breakfast is ok as well, but nothing very special either. One or two nights here are absolutely ok.

Perfectly located, Just off the river and close to the old town, 10 min walk from train station and 10 min walk to high street shops. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, happy to hold on to luggage, arrange taxi to airport (fixed fee taxi €40), point out where to visit etc. bar was busy although we just stayed for a coffee. We had a triple room which was great value, no kettle or fridge but we were only staying one night. Only disadvantage and this came from my daughter, no socket near bed for Charging phone! Hotel key also gives access to back door which leads straight to river and bridge over to old quarter. Would highly recommend for a short break.
